@The Administrator is Thorin Oakenshield! Meh, the soldier thing in S8 is the one thing I didn't really like that much. the 10th doctor had this bias, but surely after martha and jack he knew soldiers can be good!? And 11 was fine! I think the soldier thing with 12 was just part of him not knowing himself. so now he does, no more.

We've already celebrated 50 years for quite a while last year, so lets celebrate the 51st year! So much has happened to the show. The main character got pushed further, not actually having his proper "I AM THE DOCTOR!" until Flatline and didn't really understand who he was until Death in Heaven. We basically got the traditional post regeneration story, but it was 12 weeks long. They also changed the gender of one of the main characters, a big push there! And the show got a very successful world tour and very high final viewing figures! Time of the Doctor was the 800th episode of the show, and In The Forest of The Night was the 250th story of Doctor Who on television! So another successful year for the show out of the many it's had in the past 5 decades
@Baker Street And S8 had the 250th story

This is more for David but if you haven't heard this before then have fun! This is my headcanon about some of the plot to blow up the TARDIS. In The Eleventh Hour the Doctor has to leave Amelia because the engines were apparently phasing. But in The Pandorica Opens we have it established the engines shut down if no one is inside the TARDIS. Now, it could very well be the Exillon from death to the Daleks, but I think a silent entered the TARDIS while 11 was busy with the crack on the wall. Perhaps it was monitoring Amy's life to study the Doctor. It snuck in, and tired to somehow mess with the engines which caused the cloister bell to go off. What damage the Silent did do caused the TARDIS' mechanisms to malfunction, bringing it 12 years into the future. It studied the ship more then used psychic pollen to hatch it's plan more and tamper with the main controls. It couldn't risk the trio noticing it, which could trigger more recent memories of seeing it and then make them clever enough to beat it by perhaps tally marking themselves or writing down memories. So it used psychic pollen to render them unconscious. But the pollen got it under a dreamstate too with less effect as it is genetically engineered. Hence how you can see it here hanging from the ceiling https ://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t34.0-12/10811216_1025373280821756_1119022161_n.jpg?oh=356877c368ca4be9aea4fcb28ffe097b&oe=5473B5CD&__gda__=1416789689_a53f1d85f90ca56da49f853ee7fb2105 Now the size is maybe too big and of course it didn't happen but headcanons rely on imagination. As time went on it got more and more into the ships systems, causing small bugs like ending up in a graveyard in wales. But with one crew member gone, and the adventures making the TARDIS empty, it was able to hijack the TARDIS fully with some knowledge of the machine being known through Kovarian who is apparently an ex wife of Tasha Lem, causing the space-time coordinates to lock on to 26.06.2010 AD. It relied more on imagination than evidence, but I dont care. My headcanon, doesn't affect anyone else does it?
I love the s3 finale a damn lot, but there is a few errors. If time reversed then all the staff that were in the meeting room on the Valiant on the day the master took control should be back there again. Okay, maybe because it's the eye of the storm, they didn't. But where are they then? And Jack left the torchwood hub, then utopia happened, then the trio went back to that point in time missing by at least a few days probably. Then the year happens, gets reversed. So the torchwood team are angry at jack for being away for a few days. And what happened to the toclafane in that room when the president was shot? eye of storm excuse can be applied but the question of where they sodding end up can also be applied too.

The beginning of death in heaven makes no sense. They are directly infront of st pauls, then the doctor turns around a bit and back, and now he and missy are infront of a shopping centre and st pauls is bit away around a corner it seems! the guys werent great at blending two filming shoots.

I love the cliffhanger to dark water so much. It felt really tense when we see the shot of the cyberman just blankly looking at clara (which is really creepy!) then we see them all awake and clunkily walk out their tombs! Then you have the missy reveal and a terrified doctor as we have cybermen spreading around the area (Although it's so obvious you have 6 costumes when you get two shots featuring 6 costumes! could have used more CGI trickery there! Oh and dont have shots of cybermen going out just to have the next shot so st pauls cyberman free with a person actually entering the building!) AND then we get a weeping danny still contemplating on deleting his emotions! I know a cliffhanger is good when I want to murder the writer for ending it there. And boy was moffat on my hit list!
@LGwalchmai95 One of the best trailers for the show. And the style is so brilliant! I love how it's done. It's obviously not realistic look makes it 10x better IMO It's like travelling through an image, or that time has stopped!. I wish I could see it in 3D because it clearly has that in mind! Oh and the old low quality shot going into a colour filled HD junkyard as the music goes from simple to explosive..fantastic! I also love the detail! A bar sign with a hoof from the daemons, a console from a dalek parliment ship, the keys to time, a small yeti sculpture, the 70's tardis key, bessie! And I love the gallifreyan on the cliff! And the budget for this would have been tiny! It's a weird parallel with most of the show really! Tiny budget, amazing execution
I think you're a bit wrong. Because when I shouted at the tech guy in the shop for being a git, he suggested I should shove the cable right up my arse.

The waters of mars and avatar are around 5 years old now. But it's the very high budget movie that feels dated when judging CGI. I can never believe that is a proper world, its just off to me. But a CGI company on a BBC wales budget still manages to make a quarry and some 3D computer models look like Mars. That's quite amazing. With tons of money, you can make something easily. But it's when your constrained that your mind really has to think of clever ways to do things.

I'd be okay with a new tardis, but keep the furniture and warm lighting, it's what made the current one so great.

The Cybermen were originally a reflection on people wanting to perfect themselves and the then more recent arrival of arm transplants with mechanical replacements. But that's just common stuff now, so it's good we have new things to reflect on. They use a data cloud to store and download their personalities. Just like we use clouds and tech to upload pictures, videos, contacts etc etc that make up a chunk of who we are. Even with online quizzes and bios, you are uploading bits of personality up there. Its great they are still mirroring even in 2014

"Attention! This is not a good day! This is Earth's darkest hour! And look at you miserable lot! We are the fallen, but today we shall rise. The army of the dead will save the land of the living! This is not the order of a general! Or the whim of a lunatic! This is a promise! A promise of a soldier!"
I wondered why Danny did this! He doesn't need to convince them, he has control of their minds! But then I realised it's another lovely thing about this man. Missy will just shout silly orders and mock, whereas Danny RESPECTS the dead. He doesn't just order them to fly up, he tries to encourage as well and treat them like his army of soldiers, not mindless drones which soldiers are sterotyped to be. He's taking them into a mission where there is no coming back, and he tries to be respectful while doing it
1 week, 4 days ago on Conversation @ http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/discusswho/062014/
Danny is impossible. He didn't get a HUGE amount of time on-screen yet is one of my favourite side characters. And my god did he get a great ending. Actually breaking an inhibitor to comfort someone he loves. Then stands off the woman that did this to him. And then going out with his army of the dead to save the world of the living to follow a soldier's promise, that you will sleep safe tonight. He is literally made to be a mindless drone but breaks that role (almost like breaking a stereotype of soldiers you might say!). This depiction was perfect for the lead to remembrance Sunday. Oh and then at the very end, he gives his life (or a chance to return to it) so an innocent civilian child can be alive and well! Thank you Steven and Samuel for making this amazing man. PS- His very first line in ITD will be emotional as it's "Attention! Look at you miserable lot!" Which is the same thing he shouts to his fallen cyberaremy!

I love the "I am not a good man. Im not a bad man!" scene. The doctor looks so happy to have finally discovered his place in the universe and who he is. After 900 years of seeing generations die of old age or being killed while having the return of his race just a name away with horrible consequences.self..after ALL of that, he finally remembers what the doctor is. Fantastic acting from Peter and a great end to this arc. Just as good as 9 and his time after a long war.

HE'S WEARIN A HOODIE!! https ://38.media.tumblr.com/a6c9fa63b8602cb71f1872acf500a289/tumblr_nexqirWghu1r9zeo4o1_1280.jpg
Series 8 has been the most interesting series of DW for me. S1-4 are RTD seasons and it's a very enjoyable era. S5,6 and 7 are all different to me. S5 is like a traditional fairytale, S6 is like DW meets american drama (but not too much thankfully) and S7 just felt like nothing. Not fairytale or Movie of the week. It just felt like traditional doctor who. And I loved that. But S8 is very interesting. You have a character arc for the doctor in a series that is on level with 9's. You have monsters that have aspects of the doctor in them/ are more than "Im bad, kill kill kill" (Even the skovox git matched the doctor in it's narrow thinking of things. Just like 12 with the idea of a soldier) And Clara's arc really interested me too. This has been the first time in forever that I actually went into a DW episode thinking about what the doctor will do this week and actually getting worried. I LOVED that!

The S8 UK blu ray cover- http
S8 USA Blu ray cover- http: //ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91Vkh0lWfLL._AA1500_.jpg
So the UK gets the OTT action poses and the USA gets a more calm cover...did not see that coming. I like both covers, but I do like the cogs on BBCA's better. More rendered and realistic. Also, why does capaldi's hand never change!?

"Of course, Earth's darkest hour and mine, where else would you be". Such a lovely scene. I never really think about the brig being a cyberman, because how it's done does not say cyberman. The way it's shot reminds me more of it being a ghost of him. Silent, leading the doctor and clara to Kate. Always distant, just looking. Then he flies to the heavens This is not a skeleton of a character cased in metal, this is basically the ghost of him protecting his daughter and his best friend one last time, going out like he should have done, earning him to fully pass on
Best trivia by far- in one of the books I think (could be audio) UNIT in the future went galactic, becoming the United Galactic Intelligence Taskforce...or U-GIT. The future is so bright
Is missy putting on an accent. she likes 12's and says she might keep it, so is it a fake then?
Someone headcanoned that the brig flew to the stars, and after centuries with damage and memory glitches, he was just a head at the maldovar market who got picked up by a floppy haired git in a bowtie on a very dangerous adventure, leading him to help his friend during one of his darkest hours again. ..Certainly interesting
Okay, not all the accents here are great, but Missy and 12 have the most awesome scottish accents! I always laugh at the way missy says "I'll miss her too!!". Has to be the most scottish sounding voice on the show
@TardisBoy is the Mistress Well she didn't say the full coordinates, but it could work. Im a bit against really. Because I like to think she knew 100% it was not there, but she told the doctor to raise his hopes just to have them crushed, which makes him furious. Having the reveal that she was right takes away from that scene a bit. He now had no reason to be angry at her.
I admire the work of the makeup department! They didn't sugarcoat cyberdanny one bit! That is the look of a dead person who has been worked on! The dark around the eyes and the chunks of metal going into and pulling at the skin is just horrific, and something you'd more expect Big finish to do! Amazing work.
Theres no reason for cyberdanny to take clara to that graveyard, so Im going to headcanon that its the graveyard he wanted to be buried in, so he went there to die. As a soldier, Im guessing he had SOME thoughts about how his death should be handled in a life such as that, but not enough to organise, hence why he wouldn't be sure if he would be getting cremated. There, done!
Missy's theme is basically psycho marry poppins
@TheBiPunishment If she got shouted at for screwing up a plan she'd probably go "Ohh God, that was it! Ha.."
@TheBiPunishment I dont care if you just found out the family dog is ill, dont be rude to osgood!
Colonel Ahmed was a git! "It was captain scarlet, not thunderbirds!" The way he says that to osgood is rude! What a rude rude gitfaced git!
This was the biggest finale in the moff era invasion wise, and it wasn't even that big. I guess he just like more character driven stuff than large scale invasion stories, which is not a bad thing. He's done it in different ways every finale. S5 had the end of the universe..in a museum with a group of characters. S6 had the crumbling of time...focussed on the doctor giving up then being inspired when he hears about the brig and thinks about what the brig would want him to do (headcanons exist shut up) and then the ending is on a pyramid with again, a group of characters. S7 was about THE TOMB OF THE DOCTOR...and it focussed on a group in the tomb, and clara helping her best friend. S8- INVASION OF THE CYBERMEN...where Danny wants to die, clara is going through personal hell, the doctor discovers who he is, and we see a side of the master that wants his friend back by making him see they are not different! These are huge concepts, but they are just a tool to attempt to make or succeed some character driven stuff, and good on Moffat. I dont see a reason to criticise that! you may not like it, but it's not a bad thing to do. (Oh and this isn't me saying RTD is bad with character driven stuff!)
So nearly ALL of dark water was just lies lies lies! Missy isn't a robot, but the master. The dont cremate me stuff was a lie. The volcano was a dream. The skeletons were cybermen. Dr Chang isn't missy's boss. The nethersphere isn't the afterlife or underworld, but a timelord computer matrix. If this was a classic ep we'd probably get these all revealed bit by bit. But it's a whole ep! I really dont know what my reaction to it will be on a next rewatch. The concepts are still awesome and chilling, the ep is still great, and the volcano scene has impact, but Im watching a teensy fibette! It's like amazing lies!
"Cybermen dont just blow themselves up for no good reason dear. they're not human" Did I ever mention how much I love this line?
Okay, osgood is dead which means Kate is the only recurring UNIT character. FIX.THIS.NOW. I want to care for characters in the next UNIT story! Make a new UNIT family. It's what makes the perwee era so nice for me. The brig, Liz/Jo, Benton and Yates and the doctor..a lovely alien fighting family!
I still cant believe they changed the titles just for a joke! This is like putting Jack in the utopia titles for a laugh!
@Calebxy I think if every key is destroyed, the opening mechanisms are shut down. it's been shown the keys have some link to the TARDIS herself, so I used my imagination.
@Calebxy @The Administrator is Missy Claus! Keys can summon the TARDIS closer to the doctor (Time of the doctor)
