Apparently you NEED for someone to be hostile to you and call you everything but your name in order for you to accept that he or she can disagree with you. I know black people are CONDITIONED to be hostile toward one another. I didn't try to SLIGHTLY or SEVERELY offend you. Good to know that you weren't.. except that you have gone on to lie and say that I said things I have never said. I don't play games dear. I am real and WHAT ABOUT MY PICTURE AND SCREEN NAME???!! I do remember reading Essence as a girl and a teen and the content was MUCH MORE SUBSTANTIAL.. I really do feel intellectually insulted by the junk I see in it today as well. I usually just browse through it at the store, visit the site for the bridal bliss stories and skate on over to talk radio for more substantial, educational content.
Strange, most of the articles I have seen in Essence about White men actually PROMOTE dating them.
Did they REALLY advocate that crap? What issue was that in? I do remember being SEVERELY disgusted in an issue they put out a few years ago about a "gold digger" or "Kept woman" or some garbage like that who would be with males who would never commit to her.
So they buy it and control it by assuring that all we get is crap. Time to stop buying it. and Create what we want to see.
Time Warner OWNS Essence magazine. White people own and run Time Warner, therefore if White people want other White people working at Essence they will put them there! THIS is why the Civil Rights movement was a FAILURE.. we didn't preserve what we had and continue to support those businesses, but ran with change in pocket to the White establishments who didn't want us begging them to take our money ( from our own pockets, mouths and businesses) We don't control then we sell then we cry about those to whom we sold it "selling us out".. they never had our interests in mind in the first place. it is ALL about the dollar and control/ domination. If you look at music the SAME THING has happened, which is why most black popular commercial music is garbage and has no substance... Those who are not us who control it DON'T WANT substance for us.

Focus on making the man you are actually IN the relationship with feel good...just as he focuses on edifying and building you up. You shouldn't be catering to an entire GROUP of males anyway, but to the individual male that you are in a relationship with. I would never be in relationship with the type of male you mentioned, so what do they have to do with me? All black males don't have it out for black females, nor do all or most black males think black females are unattractive, which is why the vast majority of black females who have husbands, and mates have BLACK MALE mates! It seems like you have taken a figment of Media lore and ascribed that to the whole of black males. Stop that! It's not conducive to anything. Neither of us know 10% or probably even 1% of all black males in our respective cities or counties to blanket them all like that. Those kinds of self hating males shouldn't even be relevant in your choice of a mate.
I don't remember that one, Nor the excerpt from FORTY ONE YEARS AGO! hahaha!! I don't think they have printed anything like that since I have been born... but they have been actively promoting dating White men for at least the last 5 years, so the "be loyal to black men at all costs" accusation is a bit moot for me.
How about instead of hoping that a magazine that black people DO NOT CONTROL and haven't controlled for a long time "turns around" we start CREATING WHAT WE WANT TO SEE! Now that would be doing something constructive. Don'tcha think?

Fullers work OR you went to wikepedia, DID NO RESEARCH OF YOUR OWN and took someone ELSE'S conclusion as truth, though you invested NO TIME in finding out for yourself. it is EASIER to find Mr. Fuller's interviews and his OWN words and HIM stating what he believes in and practices than it is for you to reply on this thread to me about what you haven't bothered to read and don't know. mY THINKING IS NOT SKEWED.. I have read his work and you have not, I have listened to tons of the man's interviews.. so who here is more equipped with information to come to a logical conclusion on the matter? Christians derive their ideology from the New Testament no? you won't find Hebrew women in Torah stating that Yah was going to be their husband. they knew that they were to find real breathing, living sperm carrying husbands so that they could BE FRUITFUL and multiply as commanded. In the writings of Paul are where you find the foundation for much of the ideology that you will hear black females believing today. The "waiting on my Boaz" thing...the "You are spiritually married or joined to whoever you have sex with" or however they term it.. I forget the term.. that isn't in Torah either. I am just telling you that there is a lot of ideology either directly and or indirectly drawn from NT writings ( Predominately Pauline) that has a detrimental impact on the way that we think and relate to each other when it comes to marriage/ male female relationships. There are often debates on if you can even marry another believer if they are divorced and it isn't for adultery.. Paul teaches one thing, JC teaches another. I used to think that it was wrong to marry a divorced man whose wife was still living unless they divorced because of adultery BASED ON the writings of Paul & the teachings of JC. but the Torah forbids no such thing. In Torah there was no divorce over adultery, because the adulteress was stoned. That is why I say they are opposing books, so I don't speak of the bible as "Whole, congruent" entity or work.

It sounds to me like you are speaking from ignorance. I have the book, and have read the book and have listened to more than several hours of Mr. Fuller's interviews. So I KNOW you are speaking ignorantly. But it isn't a necessity to remain that way. As long as White Supremacy exists, no black person can be a "black" Supremacists. If there were "black Supremacy" whatever that WOULD BE, White Supremacy could not exist. You cannot have two different forms of supremacy at the same time. One would negate the other. Follow the logic.

Again, until you understand Racism, WHAT it is and HOW it works, what you think you understand will only serve to confuse you. And Mr. Fuller is NOT a "black supremacist" no such thing exists as no black person dominates, rules over or subjugates any other person because they are not black. Mr. Fuller.. is a very logical man and you can learn a TON from him. But again. faith over logic. I don't turn a deaf ear to something because I don't like the way it sounds.. It is NEVER a waste of time to learn something that you don't already know. THAT is how you get to the TRUTH, asking questions and listening to and evaluating the answers. :)

That doesn't negate the fact that there are many illogical beliefs promoted in Christianity ( whether they are from Paul or the Pulpit) that do factor in to bad choices that black females who are Christians take. Even the belief that you can be celibate as a ministry (Paul's admonition for a widow to stay single).. you won't find that value or ideology ANYWHERE else but in HIS writing. The Hebrews did not value being alone and without a partner and considered marriage and multiplication a MITVOH OR good deed/commandment. No one was sitting around waiting for a husband to fall out of the sky. Marriage were even arranged at an early age.

Eh..okay.. taking someone ELSE's OPINION about someone else is not a behavior that I would resort to to reach a conclusion either. That is not a method that should be trusted.
