Miller played well.he was involved and noticeable He took a penalty but it was in  defence-he tripped St Louis as he was about to shoot point blank on goal

Zuccarello was a dominant player. He won the game for us.If he keeps playing like this he's better than Nash, Stepan Richards/He's even better than awesome Chris Krieder who was also a dominant player .He is spectacular, all the overinflated hype about the guy from Norway is suddenly believable.Sorry to gush but I'm taken aback at how good a player he is suddenly appearing to be.

Girardi trade and Callahan trade ? Oh yeah baby. That' s actually an awesome idea. Both gonna walk for nothin or handicap the future at some point(Cally is too injury prone and isn't going to get less fragile).Rangers gotta make this deal if they can.  Now's the time.Optimal return for both.get a 1st  round pick from Boston and Buffalo plus -OMG .We would have a new future.

At some point Rangers are going to have to string some wins together. That is going to require some good solid goal-tending .If that doesn't happen, we are going to be out of the picture.

Can only hope that Lundqvist gives up NO softies, and that everyone gives a good disciplined effort. If they can get something decent from both Nash and Stepan, and everyone else plays with the intensity they showed against Capitals for 60 full minutes, that's all I want to see right now. If he plays,Connor Allen is getting trial by fire. LGR!

Nash is invisible, not acceptable.Concussion fears or even not feeling right?Agree on sitting him.Pouliot is pleasant surprise. Not surprised at all Hags is playing well, he should be playing better. He's a core player. Missed a lot of chances.Could of had a couple.Talbot has to have those- at least two of them.J.Moore has to defend better on that last goal.JT Miller. If he keeps this up he'll be major. Now he has to score some more.Stepan has to get his butt kicked by the coach. He has to be a lot better.Again he's a core player. He isn't playing like it.Callahan and Staal are missed. With them in the game, we win this.Lundqvist back next game.Cross fingers.Goalie situation not good right now.

Its true he would be tough to play against, but to get good players you have to trade a good player.Even with Talbot looking ordinary tonight, I think moving on from Lundqvist is an idea that has to be considered.Ranger's need a very high draft pick and trading a great player is the only way to get that.Remember, goalies are replaceable-easier to find than elite forwards or defencemen.

11 months, 4 weeks ago on A Realistic Look At Why Lundqvist Is Struggling

Reply
It's likely Lundqvist will regain his form, but not guaranteed If he continues so-so netminding this year , he should be traded before July 1 when his NMC kicks in. Lundqvist is the face of the Rangers so why?
Reason 1.A pretty good NHL netminder plus backup from an excellent Cam Talbot is acceptable for the Rangers-they aren't an abysmal team-far from it, actually, despite how fed up we get with them.
Reason 2.The return on a Lundqvist trade could be  franchise making- a first round draft pick from a low standing team plus top player/prospects.If we make a good deal, the Rangers would have a new much better team.
3.Teams are getting to the finals with high quality but not super elite goaltending, and there are always new elite goalies appearing every year or two.
If Rangers are going for a rebuild, which is going to happen anyways, they may as well start where its least expected, and think outside the box.

The lines seemed real good.youth core players finding their game-Miller played well. Hagelin playing as he should. Brassard is excellent.  Zuccarello is awesome..Feeing generous after a good win: Maybe Nash can get back some confidence and Richards and Stepan can start scoring a few more. The  Caps are a good team.Whoever is in goal has to play at their best level.

What gets me is that Sather makes assumptions .He assumes that Lundqvist is going to play better in the future and pays out an outrageous contract. At the time Lundqvist was playing poorly and because of that should have been offered less. If Lundqvist signs with someone else, because there are good goalies available,.we then sign another good goaltender to a less burdensome contract and use the money for other skilled players.Instead we are in dangerous waters and losing a year, possibly more.

1 year ago on Rangers vs. Islanders (Game 36)

Play Talbot 50% of the time. Lundqvist is not playing the level needed. He sits.IF  Lundqvist doesn't play better, that is going to be a big problem. If thats the case.time is up on this season and we may as well start trading UFAs for rebuild picks, because getting a scoring forward isn't going to help enough. This team either has enough for Cup  this year or its trade UFAs out to rent for picks.

Richards has to be bought out-he is in decline..Nash will produce offence regularly year after year despite his struggles for a few years at least. We could try Joe Thornton as his center and that would probably solve the Nash situation.

1 year ago on Possible Roster Moves Coming; AV Talks Kristo

They have shown some fight lately but have shown too many weaknesses at this point in the season .If they regress again -Here's the change: There's a few problems with this team. The roster problems are easiest to fix but they have to be recognized.1.The bad players have to go.be traded sent down whatever.2.Quality new players have to be brought in to replace at least the level or better of the bad players.Up from Hartford or elsewhere.3 the "OK" players who aren't playing brilliantly have to be let go or traded-they are doing more damage than appears.Replace with quality prospects or 1st round or 2nd round picks. The other major problems on this team are motivation, and management.Problems not easy to fix- Unless Dolan asks Sather to retire.

1 year ago on Dare I Say The Rangers Are Showing Resiliency

Other rookies make mistakes and don't get sat or sent back down.On this team thats what happens. We need McIIrath and Allen to be on the roster in a couple of months playing dependably.Hopefully Girardi will be replaced and MDZ traded by then also.  Now give McIIrath some more ice time.I think he has the raw talent to be better than Falk and Moore this year-but he's got to be getting ice time to develop his game.Unsure and not as steady as the other two right now. It's clear he will get better.

Your both right. They should have enough about themselves to play right. But obviously something is not happening with them.No desperation.Laziness.Torts ragged them. But AV is distant.Don't trust this team-they'll let you down-garanteed.Using Hags as an example-always a go getter and puck hawk-now-except for last game-meh ok.That's unusual and it shows that some players are not finding the game within themselves . Theres a lot of players like that on this team right now.Only 4 or 5 are doing what you say and playing like they should.

Tthe Rangers should let all their UFA's be traded at the deadline or let walk except for Stralman. Its time to move on because none of them are elite players and the youth movement should continue.Callahan Girardi Boyle can all get good returns in picks or prospects for rentals. It would be a big mistake to resign Callahan or Girardi -the longer the term the bigger the mistake.Seriously big mistake.
Just keep the prospects moving up and if AV has to be replaced then that's what  happens and there's a new coach. But the team still has youth skill and ability to add players as needed.Rangers can't  fall back into the trap of a roster of old has beens even if they're homegrown and popular has beens..We can get back to the Eastern Final soon if we follow the prospect path as before.

Evander Kane is a good skilled solid NHLer who would love playing in the Big Apple rather than Winterpeg.  Kreider really looks good this year and IF he reaches his potential -its higher than Kane's but Evander Kane's is still real high. Stepan is a potential really high scorer so that is also problematic-he has a lot of critics but man, he can silence them quickly-a real good player.Overall we dont want to destroy the positive things on our team to get a good player. But if we can get Kane affordably without destroying the Rangers its good

1 year ago on Rangers Making Inquires About Evander Kane?

I think the problem is AV managing the team. These guys apparently need someone to stand in the locker room between periods and call them out or provide them with quick instructions as to what to do next.I don't know if anyone is doing that-maybe they are just sitting there with no clue trying to get themselves going.AV seems like a hands off type of coach-let them follow the game plan. All speculation but they seem really disjointed and disorganized on the ice when they are down a goal.Maybe they need speeches and call outs between periods. They don't have a strong enough leader to do that themselves-no Mark Messier in the room -so the coach has to fill that role.Does AV do that?If he doesn't maybe he should try.

Something to remember is Cally is not going to become a better player than he already is and would most likely start to decline at the end of a contract.Young players coming up are going to get better so that is also part of the picture. Therefore a five year contract if he is resigned is the way to go.He's an ok player, a 2nd/3rd liner with a pretty good shot.and thats it. He's not a superstar. The rest of the UFA's can walk except for a couple- Straalman and Boyle if they don't ask for much of an increase. They've been playing ok.Oh yeah D Moore has been ok too

Dan Girardi is done with this new system -trade him. He should be finished with the Rangers with UFA on its way.Get something for him and trade him -bring up McIllrath..Moore has speed and its good for him to develop in AV's system where he can utilize that more than Tort's.
