You use the word "Self-aware" too much. This movie isn't self-aware it's just stupid.
This is the worst of the series to me. I personally like the mask in 4 better because at least it's nose and hair aren't fucked up. And bringing Michael to prison in handcuffs while wearing his costume is ridiculous. It looks like a goddamn SNL skit. And this might sound like I don't care about emotion but Michael should never cry. They screwed that up in the remake too. If Michael cries it gets rid of the mystery. We now know the guy has emotions. Michael, in my opinion, shouldn't have motives or emotions. He should just be a maniac which makes him creepier.

The remake's way too depressing and unenjoyable. I don't want to see Freddy molest children. That's stupid and not entertaining. I want Freddy to be mysterious and sometimes funny. There's no enjoyability. Plus it's produced by Michael Bay, so what do you expect. He sure likes to fuck up people's childhoods.
JohnRose I completely disagree with your opinion on the Nightmare on Elm st. remake. But when it comes to James's nostalgic past he seems to think that every remake isn't as good as the original. That's true now, but in the 80's the remakes kicked ass. The Fly remake is better than the original and he doesn't think so. Once again I completely disagree with your Nightmare on Elm St. opinion but what you said about James is correct.

Give Real Steel a chance. I thought it was gonna be ass. But then I saw the movie and the emotion sort of worked. And this is coming from a guy who hates CG robots like the Transformers movies. As a movie if you take out the robots it'd be a decent Rocky sequel. No worse than Rocky V. Or think of it as Future Rocky. If it's not your cup of tea that's ok. I thought it was pretty cool.
I'm ok with gimmicky 3-D in comedy or horror movies. But not this shit.

I FUCKING HATE THIS MOVIE! I hated it when I was four and I'll always hate it. Hey at least there's a pic of Christopher Reeve on the wall in the movie.

Great list. Except Halloween. And The Fly should have been number one (better than the original). But everything else was awesome. Do a worst remake list next time.
