Man, I wonder how much it cost to have such a high profile player as Tim star in your commercial?

@blanchardJRB @sa2ny2004 It took Timmy what, 1,000 years to get featured in a comic book? Kawhi has a way to go... ;)

@Spursfan66 I'd like them to resign Baynes, but if they are going to sign one of the camp invites I think Bryce Cotton should get the nod. With Patty missing the beginning of the season CoJo will get unintentionally showcased with extra playing time. If it seems Cotton is picking up the system well by then we could use Cory as trade bait midseason. Its doubtful to me that the Spurs spend big money on three pgs if CoJo looks like he may gets interest this summer. If the Spurs don't want to trade Cory, then Bryce's contract shouldn't be so large that he couldn't be cut to make room if someone interesting clears the waiver-wire.

Caron Butler is looking to be bought out also, but I would assume Miami will snag him.

@minus aren't we a contender?
@Mike ProjectSpurs Not to mention coming off a double OT back-back and the Nyets had been off for 3 days. Danny Green played 46 against the Wizards and then 35 against the Nyets, all coming shortly off injury. Belinelli also had extended minutes both games.
8 months, 2 weeks ago on Limited Spurs suffer more injuries in loss to Nets
I would love if we could get Noah! It would be a long shot, but he seems to be discontent with the Deng trade and the apparent rebuild that is imminent. Gibson could be a good pick up, but I would rather add Baynes than De Colo at this point. We have more adding Gibson would just push Baynes further down the bench and our injuries at the wing has shown we could use the depth De Colo provides.
8 months, 2 weeks ago on Spurs interested in trade with Bulls?
@jojo707 I think with our plethora of "bigs" that Baynes might have been the better option to waive. I think Baynes has hit his ceiling with us, and I doubt we resign him next year. We probably won't resign De Colo either, but he gives us depth at the wing that we need at the moment.
A lot of people have a love affair with Baynes, but I think in the future Thomas has more upside.
8 months, 4 weeks ago on Malcolm Thomas lands with Jazz
@MOlsenUtah, by claiming him off waivers are now responsible for his contract, the Spurs are off the hook.I think he was more of a "project" for the future. The team is filled with bigs, so it didn't surprise me in the least that a move was made.
@DifferentVSTheSame @spursfan80 All I was saying about corner 3's is that he already is pretty good at the 3 shot, and even decent from around the arch. Kawhi can create, but mostly for himself. Bellineli and Diaw should be added to your creators list.

11 months, 3 weeks ago on Video: PEAK releases TP9 Team Lightning commercial
I agree his defense is already there, but it seems like Kawhi had already developed a pretty good outside shot (at least from the corner). He's been working on going to the basket more and his all around offensive game is falling in place. The crazy thing is as good as he already is, he can probably still improve in all facets of his game! The only thing that concerns me is that when he has the ball he seems to play one-one more than looking for someone with a better shot. Now, do they let him keep doing this to develop his game and build his confidence, or reign him in to play more "team ball"? I am sure PATFO want to keep him happy to make sure he resigns with the team.
Eh, he's probably right... ;-)
11 months, 3 weeks ago on 'Sir Charles' Slams the Spurs... Again
I honestly thought there was a chance we would have kept Hill and traded Parker, at least at the time it seemed reasonable (Pop playing Hill in the playoffs instead of Parker was an indication). I will say the trade shocked me, but I was never upset about the trade. After it was announced I tried to find as much info on Kawhi as I could and saw there was enough there that it could be a good gamble. As far as trades go, I think it was probably one of the most fair trades that I can think of. Talent wise, we probably got the upper hand on the trade, but sending George to
his hometown, a young team in need of some veteran guidance was a good move for the Pacers as well.
11 months, 3 weeks ago on Ginobili 'really angry' when Spurs traded for Kawhi Leonard
Pop was freaking smart with his role for Splitter for now. He knew he was capable of scoring from his international play, but had him fill into a role he wasn't as familiar with and develop new skills, and buy into a team system. Duncan is under contract this year with an option for the next year. Splitter is posed to fill in Duncan's place on the team (he won't be Duncan, but who would?). After Duncan retires I have a feeling Splitter will be able to fill up his scoring stats again!
11 months, 4 weeks ago on Splitter: Popovich didn't want me to be a scorer
We really won't know much about the Spur's chances or anyone else's until we see the injury list at the playoffs... If the wrong player goes down for ANY team their season is pretty much over.
12 months ago on Tony Parker gives his West teams to watch
@MarkCubanisaDouche I get your feelings about Howard, but since he was cut he really isn't a concern unless he proves he's worthy of being on the team. However, I think your statement of running Manu and Marco ragged has something to do with a backup SF though. Someone is going to have to give Kawhi a break and they seem like the most likely at this point (although Diaw is good in certain matchups). Not arguing that we don't need a more reliable backup PG, but just feel that a backup SF could help keep Manu and Marco (M&M?) fresh.

@JohnAbneyThis way they can send him to the Toros to monitor his progress.

I was suprprised by Nando's inclusion, but also the Spurs being one of the most fun teams to watch! I mean I know we all love watching them play, but they always pick up that "Boring" label. Good job on the votes guy, the are well deserved!
1 year ago on Spurs rank in annual NBA GM survey
I was kind of hoping they would trade De Colo for a SF (maybe to Utah since Burke is injured maybe for Jeremy Evans or Mike Harris) and then sign Fells. I didn't see him being signed with the pg coverage we currently have. I hope he makes it in the league though, he looked like he showed the effort for it.
1 year ago on Report: Spurs waive Fells, Nwaelele
The only thing I watched that wasn't mentioned in those 5 was the Spurs getting their butts handed to them. Was happy with the development shown by Bellineli and Baynes. Hopefully this is just preseason suck and we shake it off by mid-late November!

I really enjoy the ball movement of our offense, but I think the alley-oop could be beneficial for our repertoire. It ain't a secret they get the crowd excited, and if we find ourselves down at home it could be a good way to get the energy back up from the crowd. That said, we've done pretty darn well with only 5 in the past few years... I'm gonna watch either way!
1 year ago on Spurs really don't like ally-oops
@gruelingslate @Spursfan66 It's ok, he's got his Spurs-goggles on underneath.
1 year ago on 5 things to watch: Spurs vs. Hawks
Well, if he already dropped out of college and hasn't been picked up by an NBA team his options are d-league or euroball, so the d-league isn't a bad thing at all. The only issue I have with it is if the Spurs really saw enough in him to want to keep tabs on his development and sign him to the Toros that does not protect his rights for the Spurs. I don't necessarily think that he warrants the 15 spot just to protect his rights, but its frustrating that he could possibly develop with us and get picked up by another team.
1 year ago on On the possible plan to send Myck Kabongo to the Toros
Don't forget that its the first time that Pop and the Spurs match up against coach Bud for anything other than scrimmage or a friendly competition. I am curious if Pop is going to have such a relaxed outlook on winning preseason games against his former head assistant coach.
@JeffProjectSpurs My feelings are that I usually support any ex-Spur that is no longer with the team. Gary Neal? Yup. George Hill? Hell yeah! But in a situation like Blair's I feel like he has basically denounced the Spurs, so he doesn't get my support. Plus going to one of our rivals? Hell yeah, I'm going to be against him. I don't know that I would go so far as to boo him, but I'm with John, I hope to get some chuckles by the end of the game...

I like that Fells is still in the group. To me his hustle makes him an intriguing prospect, although I do think we are going in with 14 players under contract.

"On one play, he (Leonard) drove to the middle of the paint and thought he was

I didn't realize the point being made at first, but I guess just the implication that Kawhi talked was impressive!
1 year ago on Despite 13 points apiece from Leonard & Joseph, Spurs fall to Nuggets in preseason action
@JeffProjectSpurs I don't know that he is necessary at this point. We have plenty of ball movement and firepower. I don't know what kind of trade we could include him in, but the way it's going he's going to be rotting on the bench this season.
1 year ago on 5 things to watch: Spurs vs. Nuggets
@JeffProjectSpurs @spursfan80 I feel you. I don't doubt his abilities, I was pretty high on him his rookie year, but CJ & PM seem to have much more to offer at this point. It may his talents need to be utilized differently than what the Spurs want/need. And it could be that through all the bad plays in that game that Fells impression seemed bigger than it actually was... ;)
1 year ago on Notables and Quotables in Spurs preseason loss to Suns
I was glad that game was preseason, it was ugly at times. But I was impressed with Fells hustle! I doubt we sign him this year, but hope he lands a role on a team in the future. Ayres and Belinelli look like they will pick up the system pretty well. Maggette I could give or take, but wouldn't be upset if they signed him I guess. At this point I would say trade De Colo for any draft pick or a trade exception (if possible) and sign Maggette and Fells and let Fells develop in Austin.
@JeffProjectSpurs Honestly, I'm not sure. I always kinda liked the guy, but I would imagine with his vertical challenge, demands of playing time (if he did it publicly, I imagine he did so more privately) and battle with the bulge did him no favors. I haven't seen anything definitive on why he fell into disfavor, more likely a bunch of little things that just did him in. I think he's a good player, but I really don't like that he is talking smack about the team that got him started.
1 year ago on DeJuan Blair continues to let Spurs know how he feels
I think we should put Ayers on him the whole night and see who came out ahead!
@slapdoghoops @gymbear I think this season (like most seasons) the Spurs consider all year to be "preseason" until the playoffs to an extent. Unless a catastrophe happens, we're making the playoffs, so Bellineli and Ayres don't have to be completely hip to the square on game one, or game 5.... or game 20.... as long as they have their crap together when it counts!
