Vanderbilt and Kentucky had huge turnover, Tennessee had injuries. They all made runs near the end, so it is a temporary down. Being number 8 RPI did not help anyone though.
I would love to root for Ole Miss. They are an underdog. They are in the SEC. They made a great comeback in the SEC tournament. Ole Miss is not Kentucky or Duke they need the support. Unfortunately because of Henderson I even....Rooted for Florida in the championship game and I am not alone. One of these day he is gonna get a broken nose. People will only take so much
@jones75 t's all a guessing game on both parts. Lunardi could change by Monday, of course so could MR SEC. One factor could be what I call the Notre Dame effect (popular teams getting the benefit of the doubt ). That would give Kentucky the nod. They love having them there for the fan support even with a less than stellar season. Of course a hot Vanderbilt team (for Instance) could pull a Georgia and win the whole thing taking one of these precious bids.
@JeffMcCartney Many times the favorite will phone it in and wait for the big tournament. Remember a few years ago when Not even on the bubble Georgia won the tournament.
With the sec weak, if Florida was to get knocked out early, It could give a hot team like Tennessee a shot at the Conference Tournament Championship.
Vanderbilt coach James Franklin not crazy about heading to Wake Forest for the second straight year: ”I’ve never heard of a program in the country going back to the same school.” (Missouri will play at Texas A&M for the third straight year Saturday.). They weren't all at Missouri though.
So what you are saying is I did not see John Gruden, Dave hart and Elvis eating at Burger King.
Most said the Kick-off attendance was higher, but there was less than 50,000 at half time.
Why do this now? Does this mean they are going for Fulmer? Their other candidates have a job and will not be available until seasons end.
I don't see Petrino at Tennessee. After The mess with Kiffin leaving, NCAA investigations, and Pearl leaving over it, Tennessee needs to find a safer route. The only choice will be an up and comer unless Jon Gruden come to Tennessee, unlikely event. All the major names have Jobs.
I believe was done to accommodate the new SEC schedule. Franklin probably had little choice. This isn’t the first change that had to be made to accommodate conference realignment. If they go to a nine game schedule it will only get worse. As for sending the letter, I am sure the contract would require them to send a letter to cancel it. Vanderbilt’s AD is a lawyer. Seriously they sound like jilted lovers.
That would still be John. The athletic department has to cut the budget without eliminating programs and combining the departments was the best way. This lawsuit still has problems; it was well known that Pat was sick and this would likely would be her last year, since she was replaced by a woman there is no discrimination. The women’s athletic department being eliminated means that duplicate offices would be taken by the men’s department, thus more women would lose their position. The men's athletic department is responsible for the money and whether it seems fair or not that is the reality. This lawsuit is sad since it seems like Jennings is putting a sick Pat Summit and her son in the middle of her own vendetta.
We may be a little hard on Vanderbilt. All three of their losses have been to top 25 teams.
It sounds like this was all part of the restructuring to combine the departments. Jennings male replacement has been there for 13 years. I think she was spraeding rumors and administration got tired of it.
Vanderbilt, TCU, and Tulane get the benefit of being in large cities with good access to bars. Most of these list are conjecture at best.
@Mr Bad Example Thank you for explaining that. I don't like to name drop myself.
The scarey part is I have friends who are not even Rumor Mungers now believing this. I am not sure if it means this rumor business is getting worse, or if it is true.
I wonder if Franklin does not see too many upsides with Rogers. I agree that the Presbyterian game would have given him momentum, so he must have not seen anything with Austyn Carta-Samuels to give him the start.
Vanderbilt should have started with this game. This will be a good chance to get to run on all cylinders. It is Jordan Rogers best chance to get in rhythm, otherwise this may be his last start.
