@GlendaGonzales @El Prez I'm intrigued by it as well. Morrow is 6-9 from threes in his last four games. Dion is 8-17 from threes in his last four games. But what I would like to see from Dion today is feeding the ball to Morrow and McGary while limiting his shot selection as the flow of the game dictates.

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#GiveSinglerWaitersMins] @El Prez @Lost Ones He'll be more than a small plus because he'll have to be the primary big defending pick and roll because of Kanter's defensive limitations.
3 hours, 55 minutes ago on Russell Westbrook has surgery for face fracture
@GlendaGonzales He can handle the dribbling and passing aspect, plus defending, he just needs to make sure he's passing first and continually setting up Morrow and McGary instead of jacking from the top of the key. His best shooting spot is the left elbow. I would assume Nick will be on the floor with him as much as possible.
3 hours, 58 minutes ago on Russell Westbrook has surgery for face fracture
@Lost Ones I don't think he'll ever be great offensively, but I do think he'll become more functional offensively and we'll see a few new wrinkles in his game here and there.

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#GiveSinglerWaitersMins] @El Prez @SpartaMoran @Lost Ones So why do you, Justin and others troll Waiters 24/7? Reap what you sow, but I don't troll...I' try to be fair with players and coaches alike because I have a respect for the process they have to go through to reach this level. I like Adams as a player.
4 hours, 3 minutes ago on Russell Westbrook has surgery for face fracture
@Lost Ones I wasn't thrilled with drafting him because I thought his lack of basketball experience would make him a longer term project, but he's been a quick learner and a pleasant surprise. Completely disagree with the assessment he's slow and non-athletic. He just hasn't had enough time playing the game to have an instinctual feel offensively like McGary does.

@FunakiEjectsAnother [#GiveSinglerWaitersMins] @SpartaMoran @Lost Ones He's clearly not the only one on here doing it.

@GlendaGonzales @Obama Adams @El Prez By my estimation--I guess it would be Dion, oh...boy.

@Obama Adams @El Prez Hope so. Who's manning the backup point guard spot?

Are Kanter or Adams available today? Been off hiking and not paying attention to hoops so far today.

@SexyWatt @El Prez @RazvanThunder (#ChuckWasRight) I think he is happy as well, but I'm not counting anything as a given. Plus, you gotta figure he and his fiancée will have a child at some point and might want to be close to the grandparents. He seems pretty family oriented to me.
4 hours, 19 minutes ago on Russell Westbrook has surgery for face fracture
@RazvanThunder (#ChuckWasRight) @SexyWatt I would think both he and Westbrook would like to be contractually fluid at the end of the 2016 season in the hope the LA Lakers as an organization have pulled their head out of their ass by that time.
4 hours, 24 minutes ago on Russell Westbrook has surgery for face fracture
@Divine Mortal He did it in Chicago when Rose went down. He did it in Detroit when Jennings went down. I just wish/hope Kanter and Adams return today or at least on Wednesday.

@GlendaGonzales I wasn't aware OU was having this kind of success in tennis. Maybe one day the Stoops Brothers can again field a football team which the tennis program can be proud of. Where is OU getting these players?

@Old Man Game Was Reggie as bad as he was last night when he went 5-24 against the feeble NY Knicks? Did he vomit or faint near Coach Stan van Gundy?

Been at a party tonight. Wasn't watching any hoops. Saw the Detroit-Washington box. Did Spencer Dinwiddie beat out Reggie tonight?

@d21 (Stop Darnell 2015) That's not true, Presti wanted Chandler Parsons. The deal would have been much better for OKC if it went Parsons, Adams, McGary, Abrines, Martin one year rental. Flip Parsons for Lamb and it's a decent deal for OKC.
Besides, Morey and James Harden have yet to win one playoff series. So---I don't know why his fat ass would be laughing.
@Old Man Game @El Prez Bledsoe is a hoss for sure. It tickled me all this summer when Darnell compared Reggie to Bledsoe. I don't really see the comparison. btw...did you see Reggie went 5-24 last night against the feeble Knicks. But he'll still get paid for sure.
1 day, 7 hours ago on Westbrook triple-doubles again, Thunder lose again
@BlueBradleyOKC @El Prez I jumped on immediately with the Hornets because I never thought OKC would secure their own team after New Orleans recovered from Katrina. I actually thought buying out Shinn was the way to go by keeping Chris Paul and David West the faces of the franchise in OKC. I never envisioned NBA basketball attaining the heights it has in OKC going the Seattle route.
@RazvanThunder (#ChuckWasRight) @El Prez @BlueBradleyOKC They should be because this will be Year 3 of Hinkie's audacious plan. But so far--all I see are Noels, an injured Embiid and a bunch of draft picks. I don't think you can go three straight years giving your fans this piece of shit basketball without some tangible glimmer of hope. Don't they have two lottery picks this summer...who would you take if Okafor isn't available?
@BlueBradleyOKC @El Prez It is crazy, One gulf coast hurricane forever changed the face of OKC.
@Old Man Game I think it's more being insecure about getting his shot blocked....like with Bledsoe. He needs to lose some weight.
@BlueBradleyOKC Sixers were my favorite team till OKC got an NBA team. I'd be there with you if they weren't tanking or if Embiid was playing.
@Obama Adams @Old Man Game @El Prez @KetelOne Agreed. If you feel you have a specialist leite perimeter defender in Andre, why d the same thing the next draft when three point shooting was needed.
@Old Man Game @El Prez @KetelOne Like Andre, he played power forward in college. I can't imagine him being a factor next year as far as the rotation. Perry Jones is a better player currently.
@Tonitrus Russ, DJ, either Serge or McGary based on McGary's game, Morrow and Singler. Based strictly on what happened the first forty-two minutes. Singler can defend either the 3 or the 4.
1 day, 8 hours ago on Westbrook triple-doubles again, Thunder lose again
@Coaeche Brooookes We only allowed 43.8% from the field. You can live with that. Matthews was 2-13, Batum was 2-6....why was there a need for Roberson versus giving Russ a hot three point shooter to pass to in Morrow. Keep in mind, entering this game per last three games Augustin was 4-13 from 3 pt range and Singler was 2-7 from 3 pt range. Always ride the hot shooter...which was Morrow.
@Old Man Game @KetelOne I've seen him twice in person. You are correct.
@Tonitrus He is a good three point shooter, but he was 2-7 from threes coming into last night and 1-3 last night. Conversely, Morrow was 4-7 coming into last night and 2-2 entering Winning Time...it doesn't take John Hollinger to say go with the guy shooting 66% from threes in his last four games.
@Coaeche Brooookes Because we lost a game last night we shouldn't have lost. Phoenix we probably should have lost because of the way we came out of the gate. Not the case last night. OKC needed some help from the bench last night in the final six minutes and didn't receive any. Royce totally missed the recap. Last night was on Scott Brooks and not Westbrook, and this comes from a Brooks defender.
@Obama Adams I think part of this is coming from Presti just as much or why else the Huestis Project. I hate to dwell on analytics like one of Justin's drone groupies on here, but the basic premise of the new game is simple...protect the rim, defend the three point line, get to the rim offensively, exploit the three point shot offensively. But last night, Brooks ignored the offensive part of the equation coming down the stretch by going with Andre and Singler.
@Obama Adams @El Prez @Lost Ones His lack of fluidity in relation to bench management is his glaring weakness as a coach, otherwise he's an excellent coach. He could never coach hockey though...where you have to change every 40 seconds on the fly to avoid bad mismatches. He's old school stubborn and this was cited in Kevin Pelton's piece on ranking the teams per analytics influence. Damn...aren't I becoming the analytics guy.
@Obama Adams @Lost Ones In the last four games Andre has scored a combined 5 pts or 1.25 ppg. What Brooks did last night was stupid in that Matthews was having a horrible night and Batum was a pedestrian 2-6. There was no need for this move. Give Russell some help offensively especially from Morrow in this instance.
@FinchReese Exactly. Every game has a differently scripted nuance.
1 day, 9 hours ago on Westbrook triple-doubles again, Thunder lose again
@GlendaGonzales @El Prez @Coaeche Brooookes And then it changes the next day. I had a day like that once. Life is a roller coaster.
@Mother Teresa It would have been so simple to put red hot Morrow on one wing. Singler on the other wing because he can actually shoot a basketball. Serge or McGary as the big. Russ and DJ in the backcourt. Five guys who can shoot he ball. Morrow isn't a great defensive player, but Russell needed some help.
@GlendaGonzales @Coaeche Brooookes Knowledge is a fluid thing. Nothing remains stagnant. A stagnant thinker is a dead thinker.
@GlendaGonzales @El Prez I don't think this site is representative of what people at the arena, people at home watching, or people in general in the Thunder fanbase think about either Perk or Dion. This is a very youth specific demographic site for the most part. The passion is good and makes for fun Thunder conversation---some good, some bad. Joel would be an icon over here. btw...I need to check in on him over at newsok.
@Mother Teresa @El Prez @GlendaGonzales I agree. His game needs some polish. That's why you have a coaching staff, right? All those dudes wearing jackets over there.
@beelieve035 @El Prez I love him. He seems like a good kid. But he's very role specific. This was on Brooks.
@Old Man Game @El Prez @beelieve035 I haven't jumped ship on him. He has a role on this team. I just don't want him on the floor during closing time. He can't shoot. That would be akin to putting a hockey player on the ice on a power play without a stick.
@d21 (Stop Darnell 2015) His offensive instincts are incredible for a rookie. Off the charts. He understands space and time. When he was young he obviously had a very good coach along the way.
@GlendaGonzales @El Prez He has a thick, muscular body, but there's some baby fat there. I would think this will be an off season priority...getting the body fat down and being able to elevate when he's going to the rim. His rim finishes are my main concern with him. Otherwise--I Iike what he can do on three out every four nights. Last night was Night No. 4 ,but his defense, his passing, his rebounding were fine---he just didn't finish at the rim when he got there.
@beelieve035 He hasn't gotten any hate at all on here because Andre is a DT in vogue player. Hate is what Perk and Waiters got/get every night. Andre cannot shoot the basketball. Andre has gotten a free ride because he does contribute defensively, he does hustle, and he seems like a genuinely good kid. But my jaw dropped when I read Royce's recap. This was not a good recap. There are multiple things you can write after last night, but Royce opted not to and that's fine because it's his blog and he can/should swing his sword how he sees fit.
1 day, 10 hours ago on Westbrook triple-doubles again, Thunder lose again
@GlendaGonzales He needs to lose some weight. I'd say ten to fifteen pounds by my estimation.
Hadn't even thought about Russ fracturing his face on the knee he took from Andre. This would truly be devastating. McGary and Morrow were excellent. I was very surprised Brooks went with Andre over Morrow during closing time in that it didn't give Russ an outside option to flash to on the perimeter. While I like both DJ and Singler, go with the hot hand. Period. Go with the hot hand. I'll always be the first to admit---Dion is a wildcard. When he's going 3-12 his minutes should be no more than 18-20. The leash should be short. McGary was brilliant---not sure why he didn't get some roll during winning time especially with Kanter out and Russ needing a pick and roll partner coming down the stretch.
I'm not going to put this on Russ like Royce did because I think the closing lineups were bad. Andre Roberson should not be on the floor. Singler hadn't really done anything to justify closing minutes. And McGary didn't get a sniff when he was coal hot.
Hope Russell is okay...how ironic would it be that Perk and Andre both injure him in the same season.
@Legendary_Dork @El Prez You can't start Andre then. Brooks should either start Anthony or Dion. I'd actually prefer it be Morrow, because DJ has helped settle Dion down. Keep those two together.
