@L0rv @El Prez Just curious, with the way we're defending the perimeter....why do you want to play Golden State?

The way OKC is currently playing....having homecourt in the second round is worth playing KD, Russ and Serge tonight. Come out strong, get this thing under control and have homecourt in place for the Clipper series if it comes to that. Very curious to see how Dallas does in Memphis tonight in the game for the No. 7 seed. Dallas is 3-0 versus Memphis this season. Should be a playoff-like atmosphere. Not really sure what team best suits OKC in the first round. If I had to pick one... I'd prefer to play Dallas. But we're 1-2 versus Dallas if it means anything.

@Old Man Game @El Prez Thank god we don't have to play Phoenix. Hornacek knows exactly how to mix and match where Serge can't be anywhere near the rim as Brooks struggles with the matchups. I agree...too many guys are reliant on Serge erasing their mistakes. Phoenix lost all four games they played against Memphis. Suns never once got to a hundred points.

One more regular season game against the Pistons, then we finally find out what this team really is. Kind of a mystery team to me. Know they can be good when they set their collective minds to it, but that's only happened a handful of times since the All-Star break. The Houston game where Beverly pissed off the entire Thunder roster, the Spurs game when the streak was broken, and the road win against the Clippers last week. Amazing.. I've watched this team play eighty-one games and I really don't have a feel for how good they are or aren't.

Think about how bad some of the losses have been. The debaucle in Minnesota, the loss on ABC against the Lakers in LA, the ending sequence of the Orlando game, and last night's game in New Orleans.

Very hard to get an emotional feel for this team.

So now we find out if they can just turn on the switch in April and play hard every night.

Ha! Just saw the shot from the Pelican broadcast on Nick cheapshotting Rivers from behind. Why didn't Fox show this angle? I love Nick, but that was a bit of a cheap shot. I wouldn't have ejected either one of them though. Just technicals. Play on.

@Di_charden @El Prez It made no sense. He was having one of those Royal Ivey impact spurts when it was obvious the rest of the team was playing uninspired basketball. Fortunately for me...every other game I needed last night in the DT Contest came through for me....Memphis, Houston, Lakers and Warriors. If the Grizz beat Dallas... I'm coming in at 24. I'm assuming of course, OKC beats the feeble Pistons at home.

Don't know what happened with Brooks last night. I love Fisher and Caron, but fifty-six minutes combined is off the charts. Nick gets ejected, Adams has been playing well of late...then gets virtually nothing last night. Roberson has six high energy-minutes...then he's done. One of the oddest coached games I've ever seen. With the players New Orleans had left....if nothing else, just have Durant and Ibaka play the two man game instead of jacking 31 threes. Add to it...KD and Serge played 83 heavy minutes. Just a very odd night of basketball which made no sense.

Good headline. Good piece. Embarrassing loss. Embarrassing to invest 83 KD/Serge minutes in this game and basically look like Travis Ford was coaching the team. I usually defend Brooks. I can't do that tonight. Brutal.

This would compete with the early season loss at Minny for the worse game of the year. Have no idea what we're trying to do. After the ejections.. Pelicans were down to seven active functional NBA players. You would think you'd turn up the pace. No. OKC decides to play a deliberate pace and jack thirty some odd threes. Embarrassing loss.

Can't believe there's much concern for losing the game yesterday on the road at Indy. OKC came back and had a chance to win on the road, plus more importantly this might take the Miami monkey off Brooks' back where none of us have to concern ourselves with whether Brooks will be able to go small from the opening tip against Miami and keep Perk sitting next to him for those games. Best case scenario is now in place for OKC...Indy has home court over LeBron.

Hope Reggie can go tonight. Would like to see OKC get the sixty wins, play short minutes for KD, get no one else  hurt and get in a groove for the first round.

Western Conference is crazy tough. Seeds four thru eight can still shuffle in these last remaining days. As  the kicker in the DT contest...Lakers play at Utah tonight where the Jazz can pull even with the Lakers. Jazz have the tiebreaker if they end tied in a dead heat. Memphis at Phoenix tonight...huge game since Memphis closes at home against Dallas in front of what should be a frenzied home crowd.

For those who support the Caron  Butler Minutes Conspiracy Theory...three games since Thabo returned.

Clippers...Westbrook 33, Reggie 24, Thabo 21, Caron 20, Fisher 15. No conspiracy.

Pelicans...Westbrook 28, Reggie 24, Thabo 21, Caron 20, Fisher 17. No conspiracy.

Pacers...Westbrook 33, Caron 30, Thabo 21, Reggie 15, Fisher 15. Reggie got hurt. Caron was making shots. Caron absorbed Reggie's minutes.

@Legendary_Dork @El Prez @Old Man Game Lamb and Perry aren't ready for the bright lights. Brooks does need to stay away from the Butler-Fisher combo minutes if possible though. Brooks would listen to me if I were on his staff. He'd respect my input. Having coached hockey...I could help him with his 'on the fly' issues. You're changing every thirty seconds in hockey always trying to catch the other guy with a bad lineup on the ice. This is the part of Brooks' coaching which has to get better.

Very little precip in Deer Creek this afternoon. Just missed us to the east. Air has cooled nicely. Actually have the doors and windows open ventilating the house. Eating the Big Mexican Casserole with 32 ounce cups of Modelo. Listening halfheartedly to David Payne ranting about some tornado in Velma or Bray which in no way affects me. Nice Master's win for Bubba. Thought Caron had a nice day. Have nothing to say on Brooks other than I think he's a good coach for the most part. Is Daily Thunder blaming Perk and Brooks for this loss?

Crazy weather day on tap in Oklahoma. Hope we get the rain minus the other. This DT Western Conference Contest has me riveted. Still at 26 points. That won't be good enough. A minimum score of 24 should be the winner. I need Memphis to invert with Dallas, which means I need Memphis to win out against the Lakers, Suns and Mavs. Interestingly...Memphis is 3-0 this season against the Suns, 0-3 against the Mavs. How ironic dr. el prez and the TSN model are being hostage by the Grizzlies underachievement to this point. With of course the Grizzlies being run  by the father of NBA sabermetrics...Dr. Hollinger. I need him to pull his link on the chain.

@ThunderChick2010 @El Prez Of course. Post season is special. A journey. We hope it's an extended one. Nothing in sport, especially in basketball and hockey is as exciting as watching your team go on the 'journey'. People should get off Brooks' ass a bit and realize this team with all the injuries...still won sixty games and had its best player win the MVP.  This is the time you soak it in, relish the play of the players.BTW... I'm liking my position in the DT Western Conference Standings Contest. At 26 pts currently, but with the very solid chance of finishing at 24 if Memphis does what I think they'll do here at the end. I would guess 24 will be the winning score.

Things closing very nicely for the Thunder as the finish line for the regular season is within sight. The team is finally healthy. No. 2 seed all but totally secure. Sixty wins is doable. The only team OKC doesn't have HCA against in the playoffs is a team they swept 4-0 this season.

Despite all the teeth gnashing... Brooks looks to be finding a nice blend in his minutes with Thabo back, and cutting back appropriately on Fisher and Butler's minutes...using them more in accordance with what their true roles should be with the roster now healthy.

Kevin Durant has won his first MVP.

Russell Westbrook is back to being a Bad Little Dude.

Serge Ibaka has quietly gone about his business in becoming one of the league's steadiest two way players.

Reggie Jackson has rediscovered his NBA confidence.

Steven Adams has shown he'll be able to handle post season minutes.

If as a Thunder fan you're not jacked right now...you're never going to be. Now just gets down to the matter of winning sixteen games and four series for the right to hoist the cup.

@Es Wild @El Prez His role is to space the floor and knock down some threes. I would like to see him get some occasional minutes with KD and Russ as well. His role is to be another piece. Another option for Brooks depending on the opponent, the matchup, and the situation in the game.

@Es Wild Butler will have games where he will help and ones where he won't help that much. It was good to see Brooks bring his minutes down and not try and close out the game with Butler on the floor. That doesn't need to be his role. Just be there to play 16-20 minutes a game and give the team a spark offensively and add some toughness.

I've been curious how Brooks would allot minutes once Thabo was back in play with the addition of Caron. Thought Brooks did a good job with the guards' minutes last night for the most part....Russ 33, Reggie 24, Thabo 24, Caron 20, and Fisher 15. To me---that's pretty close to the way the food chain of minutes should flow at the guard position. Very good to have Thabo back. Twenty-four minutes, 2 steals, and +13.
