Had a golden retriever which was Dakota's running mate for seventeen years. They are great dogs. Great disposition especially if you have kids. But I love the eyes of the lab and their loyal companionship for life.

I want to put some weather on here because I know Justin loves my weather stuff. Already 2" of precip in the gauge at DCWS as we embark on breaking the 24 hour precip mark in OKC proper.

As long as they can field viable, competitive team which plays .500 ball...they'll be okay. The franchise has become entrenched within the entire state community. Like the Packers in Wisconsin.

You grow 'somewhat' though in spite of yourself....even me. You become  a husband. A father. An uncle. At some point a grandfather. You watch your parents get older and make the connections between your life and theirs. You learn about the cycle of life. You learn to appreciate the good moments with the understanding tough moments come along as well.

There...my life speech.

If KD leaves it won't be the end of the world. Life is a journey. Enjoy the ride as it comes. Mary Fallin is our governor. We live in Oklahoma. Be reasonable. We've already been to three WCF and one NBA Final. We've already been playing on house money. Enjoy the next two years.

Our climate in Oklahoma is bizarre. Two weeks ago we were Seattle. Last Week we were Houston. Now ere Seattle again in the last fays of July.  Not bitching because this really feels good.

Maybe some DT Rain Mood music might be nice this morning. Quit bitching about KD. It's his life, not yours.

You won't believe this. I get in the van/suburban and the battery fried. I didn't get to pick her up. Will pick her up on Wednesday when it's raining. I don't see it as an omen or anything because this dog and I were made for another. Dissapointed with the delay, but seeing the big overall picture makes it okay.

I would not like Atlanta. We have a lake lot just outside of Fayetteville on a place called Lake Sequoyah by the White River. Not exactly the deep South, but I'll be in the SEC with great trout fishing.

Brutally hot, humid day in Oklahoma today. Wife is somewhere in Florida near Destin with one of her girlfriends. I'm too tired to even put the effort into misbehaving. Taking two beers and a cigar to my inside whirlpool. Not supposed to smoke in that one...ha.

Why? We already have Lamb, Jones and Roberson who in part are supposed to have some similar skill sets?

5 days, 3 hours ago on Friday Bolts – 7.25.14

I'm giving Jones a pass. We agree on that. Lamb was the 12th player selected and ostensibly the most important piece in the Harden trade. His softness and inability to play defense make me think Presti got taken on the trade somewhat even though Adams is a nice role player.

Aldrich. Jeremy Lamb has shown me little to date. We'll start with those two. I have mixed feeling about Perry Jones. I need to see more.

Go slower.  'Constructive'? They just used the 29th pick to secure the 59th best player available. So---you're wanting me to believe Huestis is the only player ranked between 31st and 100th who would have dealt with Presti like this?

So...somebody help me out here as I come to terms with this Huestis thing. At the end of the day did Huestis, Mitchell Butler and the parents sucker punch Sam Presti into taking the projected 59th best player available with the 29th pick ?

Butler sounds like a another very smart guy. I shouldn't have used the word scab. I take that back. What this is -- is a group of very smart, pragmatic people who have calibrated the odds for the best way for Josh Huestis to make some good money in the NBA down the road given the realities.

Very interesting read. Raised in Montana by a therapist and a rancher. A nice blend which would be conducive to this pragmatic survival trait we see. Are there any other stories on his family you've come across? I like smart people. I want to make it clear I'm not dogging him for what he and his agent did. It was smart. They played the system to their benefit. I wonder what other NBA players his agent has represented?

He basically hedged his position. I will never put down a person for being smart. From either a pragmatic or common sense standpoint--what he did was smart. But what he basically did was either hedge, game or manipulate the system. He went to Stanford. He should be a smart kid. I'm not on his case because I admire smart people, but it just leaves me with an odd feeling.
