When Caron Butler reached a buyout with the Milwaukee Bucks back in February, a number of teams coveted the veteran forward’s services for the playoff run. Butler, of course, chose the Oklahoma City Thunder. He opted for the Western Conference powerhouse for a number of reasons, one being the persuasiveness of Thunder superstar Kevin Durant. Butler is a free agent again and Durant is making his pitch to convince his friend to re-sign with the Thunder. Durant flew from Los Angeles, where he had been working out, to attend Butler’s basketball camp at Park High School in Racine. “I would love to have him back,” said Durant, the NBA’s reigning MVP. “He can definitely help us. But some things are out of your control; management makes those decisions. But I’d like to have him back.” SMH

@Oboy in orlando's defense, they are below the salary cap floor and need shooting. They needed a stretch big that can play with Vucevic. But considering he's 31 and they are still in rebuilding mode, they are going to regret that contract in year 4 unless its partially guaranteed.

1 month, 2 weeks ago on Thunder free agency primer
@kevindurant35 @f5alcon @chifro63 Im not saying he should go crazy like Prokorhov and I understand the flexibility concerns, but considering we are one of the most profitable teams, dipping into the luxury tax for 1 yr wouldn't be the most damaging thing in the world, either to his bank account or to the team's success.
That was a very long sentence.
I think its safe to say that Clay Bennet is a greedy scumbag via this paragraph in Zach Lowe's article: "The Thunder are indeed paying into the revenue-sharing system, rare for such a tiny market, but they’re slated to make nearly $29 million in profit when everything is netted out. That’s the fifth-best projection in the league, trailing only the Lakers ($100.1 million), Bulls ($61 million), Rockets ($40.7 million), and Celtics ($33.1 million). Again: This memo does not capture the complete financial picture for any organization, but between this estimated profit and the general escalating value of all NBA franchises, it’s fair to take these numbers into account when debating the Thunder’s decision to trade James Harden and duck the luxury tax.
@d21 @[weed wolf faction] @chifro63 ok. I panicked

@d21 @chifro63 Ric Bucher @RicBucher 19h
Lowry to Mia makes sense if it opens door to Melo. Big 3 becomes a younger, more athletic Big 4 (Lowry/Wade/LBJ/Melo). Instant EC favorite.
Hehehehe RT @NBAFLASHNEWS: The Toronto Raptors have agreed to sign-and-trade Kyle Lowry to the Miami Heat. (Via Ric Bucher)” Son of a bitch!
@Julius F Wrek the psychology major used his smarts and length to grasp how to defend guys on a case by case basis. He didn’t try to body up with guys on the ball, understanding when to keep his distance and then recovering with his size. It’s evident that his Stanford education paid off on this end. This is awesome right here.
