I was doing a little research on my personal man-crush, Ersan İlyasova, and this trade idea cultivated in my head: Serge Ibaka & Kendrick Perkins for Ersan İlyasova and Larry Sanders. Here’s their 2012-2013 regular season stats, per 36 minutes.

Ersan İlyasova: 17.2 PTS, 9.3 REB

Serge Ibaka: 15.3 PTS, 8.9 REB

Larry Sanders: 12.9 PTS, 12.5 REB

Kendrick Perkins: 6.1 PTS, 8.6 REB

As for blocks? Per 36 minutes: Serge Ibaka - 3.5, Larry Sanders - 3.7.

Additional notes:

  • İlyasova averaged 3.8 three-point attempts per 36 minutes, and made over 44% of them. He can really spread the floor as a PF.
  • Throughout the recent MIA-MIL series, İlyasova was a -9. When he was on the bench, the Bucks were a -49.
  • İlyasova is 25, Sanders is 24.

İlyasova is about $4 million/yr cheaper than Ibaka, and this would be a great way to dump Perk’s contract. I know Sanders is nearing the end of his rookie deal, and after the fantastic season he’s had, I’m sure he’ll be looking for big money. Perhaps without Perk’s $9 million/yr hanging over the the Thunder, they can afford to oblige Sanders.

Who says no?

@RWolverine Another nugget from Bill Simmons via the @GrantlandLive account: "Perkins just watched 4 straight Hou layups. Seriously can't figure out why he plays. Every advanced stat says they are worse with him."

@jdstorm  Good for OKC's economy? Brings people downtown, plus another playoff game's worth of sales. But still...

From the @GrantlandLive twitter account during the game: "Do you think Harden and Fisher compare fake injuries during free throws?"

Prediction: Reggie averages 16 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals per game in Russ' absence. He's got the length and athleticism to be just as effective on the defensive end.

So Toronto's first round pick needs to fall between 4 and 14. Is the general consensus here that we want Toronto to tank so we get a better pick this year? Or would it be better if they made the playoffs and we got it next year? I don't follow college basketball that closely, so I don't know how good this draft class is.

For some reason, whenever he'd do something stupid, I would just laugh and yell "NENAD!!!". But whenever Perk does something stupid, I get pissed.
