@mrsdresses Hello and thank you for your question! To keep the post readable and accessible to those who are new to Ayurveda and to bellywrapping, I did not include the many physiological reasons behind the benefits I listed within the post. It was a challenge to keep it short, so I appreciate your question as an opportunity to share a little more on the topic.
From the Ayurvedic perspective that I drew from for this post, babywearing through the use of a babywrap would not generate the same benefits that therapeutic bellywrapping would offer a new mother, especially in the days immediately following her labor and birth.
However, you can use your bellywrap under your Boba wrap with no worries; it all depends on your comfort. Drawing from my personal experience as a mother and my training, I would recommend bellywrapping for the first week or two, or transitioning off wrapping as you feel appropriate for you. That could be sooner or longer than one-two weeks, it could also mean only for sleeping and walking, rather than around the clock. This is the time to adapt your care to *you* so that you receive the most benefit from it.
More than anything, I want to encourage mothers to cultivate that inner wisdom that we all use to care for ourselves and our families, so if you feel that the babywearing compression is serving a therapeutic purpose for you, then I trust you and encourage you to use it for such. You already show that you have an awareness of the compression of the babywearing wrap alone, and that is the depth of sensitivity that I hope to see with my own clients.

thank you for this great video post. i am normally a lift-the-shirt nurser, which is why i was getting stuck; but i think the layering of shirts and the out-the-top approach is going to work for me and my son too. i am actually excited for him to wake up from his nap so that i we can practice nursing in our boba. more freedom together rocks!
