33% for IT. Horrible.
6 months, 3 weeks ago on Sacramento Kings free Jimmer Fredette
Bold comments but I totally agree. My basketball mind (I'm a HS coach) is perplexed and embarrassed that Jimmer never got a chance while Gunner IT is loved in sactown. Sactown deserved the beat down from Houston last night.
Cowbb - I almost always agree with you, but I disagree with your comments about Thomas and Jimmer. I think Jimmer was never given a true chance to handle the rock, fail, and lead the team like Thomas. I have a couple other theories on the NBA/Refs/Thomas/Jimmer deal that I won't share here. I'm not alone. I asked a basketball genius former college volleyball player and Stanford MBA if he thought Jimmer or IT was better. Without hesitation he said Jimmer? He said, "IT is putrid on defense and has lead our kings to a 33% winning percentage in over 100 games starting." So I wouldn't say IT beat out Jimmer. I'd say the world's two worst coaches in smart and Malone prefer IT over Jimmer for an unknown reason to people with a 80+ IQ.

Also, Kings' websites such as this one will be ghost towns after Jimmer is gone. It's funny how articles about any other Kings only get significant discussion if the topic turns to Jimmer. I'm wishing the best for Jimmer and I wish he had been given 30+ minutes a game for 10+ straight game to see what he could really do.

Kudos to you. I agree with Brody most of the time, but I disagree with him that you are an idiot. I think you are a knowledgable hoops fan and that is cool. Great win for the Kings tonight.

Wrong again, layupman. Sure, Boogie leads the team in steals but many of those are just standing there and the ball comes to him. Others are lazy reaching steals. Boogie doesn't move his feet properly, help others, protect the rim, block or alter shots well, etc--those things are the mark of a good defensive player. I'd love to have a real center on our team like Robin Lopez who does dirty work like boxing out and altering shots.
That's funny that you think McCallum is the best defensive player on the team. He hardly plays, and when he does, he's usually against back-ups.
JT actually is ok on defense. He has some length and helps in the paint.
Under your reasoning, you'd say Richard Sherman sucks because he had only 4 solo tackles and zero interceptions in three post-season games.
7 months ago on Road Reaction Postgame Show: Cleveland Cavaliers 109, Sacramento Kings 99
@layituplikeaman Wrong. IT is our third best defensive PG, Gray is better on D than Cousins, and DWill is a better defender than Rudy. I'm not saying play those guys all the time, but play them more. The "Big Three" are getting tons of shots and minutes but have lead us to the worst record in the West. Make changes!
I think our best lineup is: Boogie, Acy, Rudy, Jimmer, BMac. DWill gets major forward minutes off bench, IT is back-up gunner guard, Gray plays 12-14 mins, Acy plays a little (terrible hands!!!), and MT and Ray Mc play a few garbage minutes.
No defensive effort or help tonight. This team is a mess. Malone keeps saying defense is King to him but he keeps the same crummy defenders out there for 36 mins a game. I predicts another loss tomorrow at MSG.

Bad loss. IT shot too much. At one point, he was an efficient 10-16. He then went 1-8 over the last quarter or so as he got worn down and fizzled at the end. He ended up 11-24, which is too many shots for a PG. Yes, he got his 30 pts and 8 assists; he did some good. But he monopolizes the ball and plays like he desperately cares about his own offensive stats. It's a team game and we lost again.
7 months, 1 week ago on Road Reaction Postgame Show: Washington Wizards 93, Sacramento Kings 84
The article nor any posters talked about IT's horrible defense. He gets abused in the post, cheats on defense and rarely gets steals (only 1.3 per game), and he's lazy lazy lazy conserving his energy for his endless dribbling and shooting offense. As a longtime Kings fan, I really want a bigger all around PG such as Bledsoe, Lowry, or Marcus Smart. IT is another Mugsy Boges Nate Robinson gadget overmatched little guy.

Jimmer played 7.51 tonight and shot only twice. Our whole bench was bad. If Jimmer was given 40 mins like IT, he could have had IT's stats by going 8 for his next 22.
IT 2 pt FG %, 3 pt%, FT %, adj fg% - .484, .373, .865, .509
Jimmer - .473, .476, .933, .560
Let's look at the numbers from January
IT - .467, .327 (48th in NBA among PG), .867, .476 (41st in NBA PG behind future Hall of Famers Brian Roberts and Alexey Shved)
Jimmer - .480, .475, .833, .583 (3rd in NBA PG with 50+ attempts)

Once Jimmer is off the Kings, fans like Layitupman and Zeke will claim that they are glad to be rid of Jimmer's fans. Yet 80% of people will disappear off of Kings message boards and no one will care about the Kings anymore and no one will care to analyze anything.
7 months, 2 weeks ago on Game 48 Preview: Chicago Bulls at Sacramento Kings
I'd trade IT for a ham sandwich right now. I'm so tired of his selfish offense and non-existent defense. I want Marcus Smart so we can finally have a real PG.
7 months, 2 weeks ago on Is Isaiah Thomas just a good player on a bad team?
I'm ready for Layitupman to blame the loss on Jimmer tonight. I thought we battled hard in there, but IT's terrible defense and his selfishness really hurt the team. 26 shots? Yeah, that's great point guard leadership getting teammates inviolved. Send this gunner to the D league.
7 months, 2 weeks ago on Road Reaction Postgame Show: San Antonio Spurs 95, Sacramento Kings 93
IT is a poor shooter, lazy defender, subpar passer, but is good at creating his own shot with his jitterbug quickness. But defenses are paying a little attention to him lately and he's getting schooled. Last year, no one guarded him due to his poor rookie shooting on top of his 42% FG in college. Lawson embarrassed him on Sunday night.
For the 322nd time, Jimmer fans are just looking for Jimmer to play 35 mins a game so we can see what he can do. IT has had his chance and the result is a lot of losses and a lot of 6-17 shooting nights while the Lawsons and Lillards light him up.

7 months, 3 weeks ago on CK Press Box Report: Indiana Pacers 116, Sacramento Kings 111
Right, Kingtut. Jimmer has a great cheap contract. The problem is that the Kings want to include horrible contracts like Outlaw and MT ($8 mil) but no one wants the bad contracts. NBA.com reported a few weeks ago that many teams are interested in Jimmer and his expiring contract but the Kings are wanting too much via a bloated contract in the deal. The article mentioned Denver and Memphis due to their outside shooting problems.
Yes, Isaiah was good, but he did shoot 31 times shooting 22% from 3's. If Jimmer shot 31 times in a game, imagine how many pts he'd score? No one will ever know. MT kept us in the game tonight and played great.
7 months, 3 weeks ago on Game 42 Preview: Sacramento Kings vs. Indiana Pacers
Layitupman, an all star? Because he hoists 22 shots a game, plays no D, and gets 2.8 Rebs in 32 mins a game? For a last place team? Your mother just called you to dinner. Put down the X-Box, go upstairs for your Mac and cheese, and then go back to the basement and put on your Kings #22 jersey and keep dreaming.
7 months, 3 weeks ago on Road Reaction Postgame Show: Houston Rockets 119, Sacramento Kings 98
This may surprise people because I'm a Jimmer fan, but I don't think Jimmer can play SG on this team. He needs a big other guard to play with like a D Wade or Shawn Livingston. Jimmer and IT would get killed on defense. IT is tiny and plays terrible defense, as Lillard put 41 on IT.
People seem to love IT, but his ball-hogging is killing MT and BMac. People are giddy about the "Big Three," but I say it's a mirage. We're are 11 games under .500 with another loss coming tomorrow vs Indy. If Jimmer, Dwill, and Acy each took 18 shots a game, we would be no worse. And they might average 20 Pts a game each. Ok, maybe not Acy, but the other two could, fo sho. I say start Jimmer at PG and let him work his magic for 36 mins a game. Bring the little Ballhog in for 8-12 mins a game and he can jump up and down and be hyper to give us energy.
7 months, 3 weeks ago on Sacramento Kings lose Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins to injury
Can you imagine the Kings' world if things were flipped and Jimmer was one of two black players (w/ Aaron Gray) and the other players were all white? One of the black guys who almost never plays (and doesn't get refs calls) leads the NBA in FT% and 3 PT FG%? And he rarely plays for a lousy team? Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson would establish residencies outside of Sleep Train Arena and the Kings front offices.
And the guy who rarely plays is the #1 fan favorite of the Kings fans (by far).
6-17 from our starting PG is not going to get it done. Sure, he has some good shooting games like against OKC, but #22 sure shoots a ton even if he's bricking them. Good thing Rudy bailed us out against NO.
7 months, 3 weeks ago on Road Reaction Postgame Show: Sacramento Kings 114, New Orleans Pelicans 97
Zeke - We are worse since the trade. Our defense is horrible, as evidenced by opposing FG% less than 5 ft from our basket and from 20+ ft...bottom 5 in the NBA in both. IT and Boogie put up a ton of shots and can be effective scorers at times, but both stink on defense and pass poorly. IT is doing nothing to help our SG's and forwards to get good looks. IT's goal should be 10 assists per game, not to shoot as much as possible.
7 months, 4 weeks ago on Road Reaction Postgame Show: Oklahoma City Thunder 108, Sacramento Kings 93
@zeke - Upper echelon PG? LOL. He's a Ballhog on a 14-23 team and his end of game performances are killing us. He was so sloppy and selfish in that 4th quarter...we almost lost it tonight. Yes, he shot well with his 10-16. He's surprised me with his good shooting in several games this year.
During the recent game, Blazers announcer Mike Rice said Sacto gives up the most points in the NBA to opposing PG's. Or is that the fault of Jimmer and his 11 mins per game? Upper echelon PG? Hmmm.
Make sure to post after your hero's bad games, too. Like where were you last night after his 3-9 clunker with 1 assist and 3 TO's. How about that putrid pass he threw last night that Paul George stole, drove down the court with past #22, them reversed jammed it? Go ahead and analyze that game and play.
Also, please tell us about his 7 TO's tonight and how he manages to average 2.8 rebounds a game in 31 mins. That is a feat you don't ever discuss.
8 months ago on Road Reaction Postgame Show: Sacramento Kings 111, Minnesota Timberwolves 108
Jimmer was outstanding again. 11pts in 13 mins on 4-6 shooting...2-2 from 3's. He should play 36 mins and IT 12 mins. Malone's got the PG rotation backwards. Thomas has has been terrible lately including tonight's 2-9 clunker with 4 TO's.
8 months, 1 week ago on CK Press Box Report: Sacramento Kings 103, Orlando Magic 83
Lilliard just hung 41 on IT tonight. Ouch - please trade him for a real PG.
8 months, 1 week ago on Isaiah Thomas looks to improve defensive ball pressure
I've been saying all along that IT is a putrid defensive player. 109 pts allowed per 100 possessions? Wow...that is awful. This guy should be playing 10-12 mins as a change of pace guard off the bench. He doesn't make anyone better around him, is very selfish, and gets schooled constantly on defense.
BYU fan - As a longtime Kings fan, I agree with your sentiment. The only flaw in your post is that somehow IT is shooting 46% this year, which is great. But I agree that IT is very selfish and is all about IT. He's a horrid defensive player, pitiful rebounder (3 rebs for 30 mins played), and makes lousy decisions. The sooner the Kings dump IT, the better off they will be. Boogie is another guy I'd let walk. Bill Belicheck and other great coaches have proved that sometimes dumping talented but selfish players like Randy Moss can be a good thing for a team.
8 months, 1 week ago on Sacramento Kings clear air with players' only meeting Sunday
I agree. We were better before the trade. Gay, Boogie, and Gay are three of the most selfish players in the NBA. And all are terrible...I mean awful...on defense. Gay has all star offensive ability yet Memphis traded him for nothing during a playoff run. Toronto is much better without him.
I know IT is getting 7-8 assists a game recently but the guy always has the ball. Our ball movement is lousy. But our biggest problem is defense. I'd trade IT for a ham sandwich for a big off guard like an OJ Mayo then team OJ and Jimmer in the backcourt.
8 months, 2 weeks ago on CK Press Box Report: Charlotte Bobcats 113, Sacramento Kings 103
Ouch. Our defense was pitiful. IT really struggled against Kemba. Our guards' defense has got to be the worst in the NBA. Jimmer, BMac, MT, and IT are all poor defenders. And the worst of the four is IT, who plays 36 mins a game and can't stop a nosebleed.
Jimmer was incredible. 5-9 from the field...3-6 from 3 land. It's time to permanently bench IT!!! That guy is horrible. He says it's his team and that he's our "leader." Great. Our leader is awful defensively and has lead us to a 10-21 record.

We are the "Big Me" between IT, Rudy, and Boogie never passing and loving to shoot anD play zero defense. Play Acy, Jimmer, and DW more.
8 months, 3 weeks ago on Sunday Musings: Who are the Sacramento Kings?
I haven't heard that. The salaries match well and we'd be hugely upgraded at PG, but we wouldn't trade away two 1st Rd picks for an aging player coming off a torn ACL.
8 months, 3 weeks ago on Michael Malone tired of Sacramento Kings' inconsistency on defense
The problem is that our two leading scorers (Boogie and IT) are also our most selfish players. Both stink at defense...I mean among the worst on the NBA at their positions...but both love to Ballhog and shoot. I guarantee that they are both happy with their season so far because all they care about is their offensive production. Yet neither pass the ball well or make teammates better. And we are in last place winning 30% of our games.
4 TO's and 5 assists in 35 mins by our PG won't get it done. Meanwhile, Jru gets 17 Pts, 10 assists, and only 2 TO's against little IT. IT should play 10-12 mins a game as a change of pace me-first scoring guard. He's good at getting his shot off - I'll give him that. But he's a horrible passer and makes no one better around him. And then there is his defense which is laughably bad.
8 months, 3 weeks ago on CK Press Box Report: New Orleans Pelicans 113, Sacramento Kings 100
Cowbb - Just my opinion on the Jimmer deal. I thnk if Jimmer was playing 36 mins a game and IT played 5-6 mins a game, Jimmer would average more assists than IT is now, a couple less PPG than IT (because IT is totally selfish and Jimmer isn't), and the Kings would be a notch better as a team.

This disaster was the fault of Jimmer and McCollum. Those guys killed us in their combined 9 minutes. The board is now open for excuses from IT relatives and apologists as to why our starting guards got destroyed again.
9 months ago on Road Reaction Postgame Show: Miami Heat 122, Sacramento Kings 103
Agree with Surf. I have a fellow Kings fan buddy at work who has coached great high school teams for 10 years and he said IT is the worst defensive player in the NBA. He said IT cheats going for steals which gets him burned, leaks out/cherry picks constantly, doesn't rebound at all (2.5 in 31 mpg), has no length to impact passing lanes, and always needs help, which means our other guys are playing 3 on 4 to help mask IT's retched defense.
9 months ago on Cowbell Kingdom Podcast Ep 124: The defensive struggles of the Sacramento Kings
Another stinker by the NBA's worst guards. IT shoots a ton, scores well, gets more TO's than assists, gets obliterated on defense all night by Dragic and Bledsoe, and we lose again. MT and BM are awful again while Jimmer rides the pine. Hey Malone, this is really working.

I think IT is no more than an end of bench NBA player who should rarely play. It's laughable that many Sacto fans hail him as the answer. If Jimmer got IT's 25 mins a game, it would be much better for the Kings. No one discusses it, but IT's defense is miserable. He's tiny and can't rebound.

9 months, 2 weeks ago on Game 16 Preview: Sacramento Kings vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Santiago - Why not point out the key stat that when MT plays, he plays 28 mpg. and Jimmer plays 12 mpg. MT is shooting 38% from the field, 32% from 3, and averaging 1 assist in that 28 mpg. I agree with others who say the only way to find out if Jimmer can play is to...wait for it...Malone are you listening?...actually play him. No one in the NBA can be effective in 12 mpg, which is all Jimmer has gotten in his 2+ years here in Sacto. I view Jimmer as a PG who should play with a Tyreke type of SG. But Smart couldn't get past his Steve Alford 1987 jealousy deal to try it.
Smart played his chosen guys and it got him fired. Malone is on the same track now. No Jimmer fan is saying Jimmer would turn our Kings around or even be a solid NBA player. But why not give it a shot? Jimmer reminds me of Mo Williams who has been great for the Blazers this year.
9 months, 2 weeks ago on Marcus Thornton reclaims minutes from Jimmer Fredette in Sacramento Kings rotation
It's disappointing to see another season going down the drain. IT got abused all night yet Malone played him 34 mins. IT's decision-making, horrendous shooting (5-16), and selfish play killed us. Should IT pass to an open man or go to the bucket and try to score over a 7 footer? Will "Wilson" ever come out of IT's forehead? Someone tell the little ballhog that it ain't a triple double if you get 10 turnovers, which he almost got (7). Sad loss.

Yes, another rotten game by IT. But he's 5'9", jumps around like he has spiders in his shorts, and he wears a headband so we are all supposed to love him. Look, he seems like a good guy that belongs on an NBA roster as a 12th man mop-up guy. But as a key player? Heck no. While playing a lot these past 2+ years, the Kings are 56 games under .500. This experiment is over.

9 months, 3 weeks ago on Sacramento Kings looking two steps ahead with trade for Derrick Williams
I think it's hilarious that IT considers himself the spokesman for the Kings. This is the worst defensive guard in the NBA who never met a shot he wouldn't take. He does play hard - I'll give him that. But is he even an average NBA player? No. He's a volume shooter and gunner who is allergic to passing. McCollum looked way better than IT in the pre-season. The diminutive IT belongs in the CBA.
