wow when will the Pens finally give up on Fleury?  ho many times does he have to hand over games and completely shit the bed like last night.  doesn't matter how good you can be at times, this guy is clearly a head case.

@ObviouslyTwoPointsAreGreat @GiveGartneraCup  he's perfect type of player for that size market.  you're right.  would love to get him back when he's ready

What a disgrace.  Right now, it is so obvious the league is against Carcillo, it's almost worth sitting him.

Kidding!  But seriously, between this and the call where he literally did not even touch the guy???  WTF!?

Carcillo rules. You could hear him yell f you mother f'errrrrr at that fan. He's the new Avery, perfect for the playoffs. A difference maker and reed will be suspended for that cheap shot.

So pumped for next game, great team effort. Steal an was excellent tonight, 2 or 3 huge hits and held the blue line nicely

Good move, he'll draw even more PPs, and we're not losing a PP guy by sitting fast

Or you could mix up lines and get him with zucc, but that line is too good. Let's not forget Stepan has been on a tear, MSL is comin unto his own- that's gotta have at least something to do with Nash. Leave it be I guess- he needs a bounce tonight, get some confidence

He didn't score every game, but the guy has not been bench-worthy by any stretch of the imagination. He had 9 gwg and fell just short of 30 despite missing a ton of games due to concussion. You see highlight reels of teams' best players scoring, and it's easy to think that's how they look on every shift, but they're not doing that on every shift-

How would he respond? I don't think you'd see any difference in his numbers, and I'm sure he'd give the same boring interview 99.9% of pro athletes give, regardless of the questions. But I think it would bum him out, mostly, and that's not how you want your most talented player to feel. Maybe if he's 22 and not responding, but this guy is a perennial all-star, playing good hockey. Yes he needs to finish more, but you really can't teach that- the best players simply create the most chances- a lot of finishing comes down to luck or how the goalie is playing that night.

Not in the playoffs. If he was turning the puck over and being a liability as opposed to just not putting up numbers, maybe. That's why Richards was rightly scratched last year. Nash still draws the opponents best shadow, leaving room for zucc line to do its thing

Most Players Don't have great playoff stats. Half the teams make it, one team wins. He was stuck on a garbage team for 9 years. That said I think the league has about 4-6 too many teams.

I agree Nash needs to go to the net more but he was undeniably good today despite bit scoring and his career stats don't lie. I should say he is the most "talented" forward. By far, to be honest. He is. Our best forward, performance-wise now is zuccarello. There's room for improvement on any team, I'm just not ready to start heaping crap on a team with one of the best records in all of hockey through the past several months. Pretty much a 100

Point season, 2nd in division, despite a season of considerable adversity- hank with a rare off start, Nash concussion, traded cashahan.

I don't know how after a close playoff loss you can say this team is going nowhere. Did you think that after game one in which they dominated? This is a great team, enjoy it- they might suck in a few years when hank is old and stuck in his contract

You asked. Ask any of the rangers who their best forward is and I guarantee they would all say Rick Nash. Anyone who would rather have Richards is clueless, in my book. And, btw, they are rose-colored glasses.

Rangers lose a one goal playoff game and people are jumping off cliffs. (Yes I know, not counting the empty netter).

Agree- I don't think he was bad today but you need your goalie to be on fire to win almost any playoff game

False. The rangers have their best all around team in many many years. Since Gretzky is say. Good teams lose games, let's get over it and look forward to winning the next 3. Nash had a great game today and if you don't see that, I question your hockey knowledge.

It is hilarious to hear almost everyone turn on this team after one loss. So much complaining. We have a good team. That was a good playoff game. Refs were not the best but try to enjoy this

AV is a true pro and a players coach with one of the best coaching records in the league. When the team was down at first, it was easy to blame him, but gotta agree he gets the best from his players. Remember torts saying stuff like "we don't have enough talent to play a certain way"?? Who says that!?! An insecure, one-dimensional coach who was afraid of losing his job, and rightfully so.

Heavy fines need to go against the salary cap in these cases, in addition to bigger suspensions. That will put an end to the bullshit really quickly. It's a team sport and each action should either hurt or help the team overall

Yes! The man was MVP of the Swedish elite league and is a rising star that is rapidly gaining notice around the NHL. He could achieve superstar status if he continues to play this way and would be hands down favorite wherever he goes. Who could root against this guy? Another crown jewel in Sathers cap, still a notch below the McDonagh steal but getting right up there. Bravo to NYR for sticking with him as Zucc could wind up right up there with Graves, Giacomin etc as far as fan favorites go. I'd even go so far to give him the A next year, with McD getting the C.

Good for Richards. I hope he has his best 6 weeks as a nyr. He should be psyched to get bought out right??? I mean think about all that money upfront, especially if he puts in a great playoffs and earns a decent contract somewhere else on top of it.

Ridiculous rebounds! We just lobbed pucks off him and most times got another chance out of it. Nash perimeter may actually prove deadly when he suits up ha. He did almost score a doozy- woulda been highlight reel but shot wide. Anyway great satisfying win- both teams showed true colors

Gotta play to your strengths, and the rangers like any team I guess play best when each guy delivers his strengths- that includes zucc blending feisty and finesse, Nash going to the net at least every other shift, hank being hank, poo being their most effective power forward (wow), Step and Richards shooting rather than forcing passes and turning the puck over, etc..combine that with one of the best 4th lines and look out. We have good balance and an identity again finally, which is not as easy to pin down as 2 years ago's team, but I think that is a good thing. This is a much better team IMO and I can't wait til Thursday!!

Talbot is awesome. Anyone looking for a starting goalie would have to consider him. Since he's approaching late 20s, he could become a blue chip in a trade for the rangers if ever needed. Tho I'd be happy to keep him too. Just have to weigh the options- 20 solid games from a backup or full season from whoever we get...

@rangermom  Sather drafted callahan right?  Time will tell, but he also likely got the best years out of callahan.  he then traded him for a lock future hall of famer who will have at least one 30 goal season with the rangers, at a much lower cost.  great move.

Wish we could have kept him, but this was just smart buisiness by Sather.

If we'd paid him 6+ million for 6 years and 3 of the seasons were like this one?

Thats how you get fired as an unfirable GM

@Betweentheworlds  you serve the team and the franchise before individual player demands.  Why does everyone fawn over the legacy of Ryan Callahan so much?  it's kind of insane.  You'd think he was Messier and Graves love child who'd already won 3 cups and finished in the top 10 scoring or still played complete seasons... Of course he's a gutsy player who can score some, but I think we really over-mythologized him as soon as he was handed the ever-holy "C".  It's called marketing, folks.

@ObviouslyTwoPointsAreGreat @rangermom  it's a thankless job really.  if the team is winning, its the players and the coach, and you don't hear much about the GM.  losing team?  crucify the GM.  honestly i think he's pulled off some great trades, and of course some clunkers.  and the biggest clunker, he turned into his best.  as for cap stuff, too early in the history of the cap to tell.  listening to his team and hiring AV was very smart.  With torts we miss the playoffs this year.  With Eakins who the F knows??

@Hockey1982 @bk59  only time will tell.  but can't argue with the fact that he was asking too much.  you can get a little more edge for a lot cheaper.  of course he brought more than that, but he priced himself out.  period.  i really think they'll have a very good chance at signing him for less this off-season.
