@ObviouslyTwoPointsAreGreat @SmellyKisio ha, no i love buffalo!  more a dig at the Devils being as bad as the Sabres, who, by the way, will be a playoff team as soon as next year.  Devils, not so much.

Glad no one got hurt last night. That was a pathetic display by the New Jersey Sabres

@Picaz77 i don't entirely agree.  the best team rawly wins the cup, so many other things factor in.  i'm just thinking, in my 35 years of fan hood, this is the best i've seen.  living up to potential, keeping the core young, good mix of role players, finesse players, all-world goalie, top coach, all the pieces are there.  for any team, the playoffs are a crapshoot after 82 hockey games played.  but i've never witnessed a better, more complete, ranger team than this.  the argument may be we don't have quite enough grit, but that's just noise.  we have the perfect balance, and one more tough guy would slow us down, no doubt.  we have just enough grit for the modern day NHL.  bravo slats, av, and players most of all for living up to expectations of a very tough fan base.

@Gianni74 Wait, did you see Kreider's goal last night?  THAT'S the intent.  He is a lightning quick power forward and he will score most of his goals that way if he plays the way he should.  I hear you about Messier- dirtiest top talent player of all time- but Kreider is not out to hurt anyone.  Are you a Habs fan or Isles?  And BTW, blogs are where you keep threads going and hem and haw about this stuff, why "get over it"?  This is kinda what fans do here, ha

Good game from the rangers, Hank is looking good.  what a great Kreider goal.  Unaffraid to go strong to the net with his speed.  Any Montreal fan should see that and say "pooh, so THAT'S what he meant to do there when he accidentally knocked out Price"…  I will say, the high slot has been looking WAY too unprotected the past few games, the Jets had too much room there.  We need Klein back and MSL will give a boost.

@HobbitLover78 Sam said "it's about time" after DB knocked Zukes head about 5 times in a row.  Sam then said "sorry folks, i just don't like the way he plays".  I didn't hear what AV said about it.

rangers were awful, and the officiating didn't help.  worst reefing since they cost us the cup last spring.  the kick in goal, the high stick on Mac, the hit from behind on Glass were 3 that stood out.  WHOOPS!!!  better step up tomorrow.

Could use a laugher tonight. Get Nash over the 40 hump, Glass gets his first goal so he can retire, and a couple more for yandle

Haha funny to paint Glass as a salt of the earth blue color guy we need to respect. He's not a cop or a war vet! He's millionaire playing a kids game in pajamas every other night! Fans can do what they want- in a somewhat roundabout way, it's THEIR money going into his pocket!!!

We have 2 top goalies, let's enjoy that as long as we can. We certainly don't need to shop Cam, he's done all the heavy lifting for Slats already. People will be begging for his services, and if the right offer is there, we do it. Done.

@Gianni74 @SmellyKisio sure, even the best teams need a bit of luck to win the tournament.  but it's crazy that some people still insinuate that we somehow don't belong in the conversation with all the other top echelon teams.  we are right up there in the top 5 and our regular season and post season record in last few seasons proves that we are just about as dominant a team as you can be, especially in the cap system where players have big seasons then out-value the contracts

Everyone who said the rangers wildly overachieved last year and only by FLUKE made it to the finals:  Are you still watching????  ECF, SCF, prez troph in our sites this year??  Give it up to SLATS and AV and this great core we can watch for years to come.  Wow this is fun- gotta be one of the winningest teams overall in last 5 years

This team just got so much deadlier with Yandle.  Yes of course PP will benefit… But with every line having a real breakaway threat to consider on every shift (Nash, Kreider, Hags, etc), this guy's ability to stretch pass brings a whole new level of terrifying to the offense.  A perfect final weapon to this formidable team.  So much fun to watch us dominate the best team in the league.  scratch that, second best team in the league.  L G R!!!!!!

@gravey94 @KevinMccarthy yes.  bottom line is, some teams are in position to make a "now" move and some are not.  rangers are in that position, and why not go for it.  bravo slats, he has built a great team here

@betweentheworlds i don't think he gets a cent more than this on the open market and his stay in the league will always be questioned (unfairly) because of his size.  He has proven himself and found a fit in NYC and doesn't want to have to start per somewhere else.  I assume Sather understood this and played on that, rightfully.  Part of the game i guess.  the cap sucks.  Glad zuke is staying, he is a special type of player

@TheKing @SmellyKisio Oh it definitely stings to lose him.  He looked great and I'm sure he'll be a good player (though you never really "know").  I'm just saying, the team is already built full of speed and skilled forwards for the next few years.  What we have badly needed for years is a true offensive D man and Yandle is the real deal.  I'm also of the mindset that if you have a shot now, go for it.  And I really think we do.  Giving up something in a trade is part of the game.  We're still young and deep

@Zelrio @JoeyKocur Susan Boyle could do a better job QB'ing this power play.  That fake shot and sidestep may have worked 3 shades of grey ago, but no longer.  he really has looked a step behind this year.  Couple good games, but he used to really be a factor, now he's third pair.  If the rangers thought he was good and really thought those analytics held up, they wouldn't have gone out and gotten Yandle to be what they thought they had in Boyle.  And as soon as the rangers have to pay his full salary, there will be no Boyle.  You can cite the analytics all you like, but he's been a disappointment, i think.  Did not come as advertised.

@TheKing it's a 'now' move.  half price on one of the best offensive D men in league is nice.  we have plenty of speed.  Duclair is great, but redundant on this team.  we got exactly what we needed.  Coyotes pay half his salary next year, then we shed Boyle and MSL and have room.

The cap sucks.  It has watered down the league.  your team can be good… for a while… but not too good.

you can draft well, and keep those guys until they get good.  Fact of the matter is, Zuke deserves what he is asking for, if you compare it to other players getting the same.  And that's the only way to measure it.  He is one of the most valuable players on this team, and we are going to lose him because of the cap.  We will never see teams develop years of chemistry bc once all your players get good enough, they deserve more money and the team has to split up.  That's busted.

Yeah, it would be a downgrade offensively from zucc.  We need to just hold onto Zucc for this run, even if it means possibly losing him to FA offseason.  It's simply our best "now" option.  And that's the way we should be thinking, especially with Hank getting a month off this season and fresh as a Swedish Daisy for the playoffs.  I hope they keep Zucc, he is a one-of-a-kind and he has proven over the years that he makes his line mates better. NASH.  keep him, and deal with it later- not the ideal situation, but that's prudent for now while we are surging.  You never know, someone else may get hurt or retire etc….

Yeah can't trade zucc when he's helping Nash to an MVP season. He must have something to do with it as his linemaye. Don't fix

I watch a lot of games around the league and to me he looks like the least talented all around player. That's a problem. I get the toughness role but even there he's a B+ at best

Stepan is a true Number 1 center, period. But it just so happens our number 1 left wing is possibly the league MVP this year, and his line gets top billing. I'd say talbot has been good but he may have let the puck handling praise get to his head. At least 2 or 3 gaffes per game, including one that would have cost a gimme goal last night. Don't be a hero back there, hextall, just get us through til hank is back!! Good to see Dubi an important player. But his hockey IQ still sucks, so he'll never fully live up to what he could be
