@thellamajockey I don't dislike this signing, but I agree that it was a BIG mistake to let D.Brown go if he would have stayed for the money he got from S.D. Brown was never given a fair shake in Indy; even last year, when everybody stopped hating him (I always liked him), they didn't give him the opportunities he deserved. It may be that he was fed up and was going to walk no matter what.

Maybe McNary is not there yet, but I liked him as the future at ILB along with Freeman. I'll be happy to eat my words, but I'm not crazy about spending this much on a guy that will be 35 at the end of the contract.

Ben, go back and watch Satele in the Luck fumble recovery touchdown again. That is your WTFISST moment for this game.

@GeoffreyHarmonAgree. By far this is my favorite series on this blog. I look forward to it every week.

@Bobman1I think that is the correct call: sack and fumble recovered by Freeman. I hope the league changes the box score, but I'm not holding my breath.

What do you make of this lineup when Thornton is healthy: Castonzo LT; Reitz LG; McGlynn C; Thornton RG; Cherilus RT.

And the taunting penalty by Shepherd was infuriating. I saw him do something similar on a special teams play earlier in the game, without drawing a flag, but thought to myself that one of the coaches better chew his ss and nip that in the bud so it doesn't cost us at a critical time. Well, sure enough, he did it again and it cost us on a critical play. Unbelievably, he was on the field for the next play. How was he not benched immediately?

A *possible* silver lining is that I thought -- to the naked eye, at least -- Reitz was an improvement at G over McGlynn and Link. I thought line play was relatively decent, particularly in pass protection (notwithstanding the several obligatory WTFiSST moments). I'lll be curious to see who gets the nod at G when Thornton is healthy again.
