1 year, 3 months ago on Sacramento Kings general manager Pete D'Alessandro explains Jimmer Fredette decision
Once upon a time, there was a small guard who critics said was not athletic enough and too weak defensively for the NBA. His critics also said at 6-2 he was too short to be a shooter and couldn't adjust to playing point guard in the NBA. Consistent with this view, his coach, Keith Smart, did not have confidence in the player and cut the playing time of the young guard. Later, when Coach Smart was fired, the young player was liberated and Stephen Curry became an all-star caliber player. The story was repeated when Coach Smart couldn't bring himself to play Jeremy Lin. Unfortunately, the new King's coach seem to share the same closed mind when it comes to Jimmer. Free Jimmer now!
@Cowbb I agree completely. Jimmer has been unfairly stereotyped as a no-D, un-athletic white guy. There is something going on here besides the King's anemic guard rotation...
