@Rangersflatbrim Talbot has had a great run no doubt....but this is Hanks team. What Talbot does represent in the off season is a #2 AND a #4 pick. He's upped his value and Slats should be able to recoup a couple of draft picks. We have enough goal-tending talent in the system to find a suitable back-up for 2016.

@Gorangers0525 @BroadwayBlueZ I do agree that he is aggressively paid. But like Zucc, he would get those numbers on the open market. Think about the role he played in last years run...the minutes that he logged. Not the flashiest...I'm with you. But with 3 offensive minded D men we need G and his game...now and more importantly down the stretch. Ask Boston, Montreal or TB if they'd take him.

Not mentioned is Girardi. He gets a lot of crap from time to time but he played a solid game on both ends of the ice last night. Winning battles, playing physical, blocking shots, eliminating Neal's scoring chance with his stick, and firing an underrated slapshot that contributed to D. Moore's goal. Give credit when credit is due. I'll take #5 on my team any day.

The Duke is  GOD only in NY. Sather and team did a masterful job driving up the price and perceived value. World Juniors he was ok....good but FAR from great. 3rd best on his line. This is  deal that ensures we're in the Cup conversation this year AND next. Hank has a shelf life boys. This year and next is his time. Enjoy....Slats did good.

Keep him and let him work for his $5.5m. He's playing for a contract....lets take his best, hoist the cup, and throw him a going away party. Sit tight Slats.

Jesper must replace Glass. With each game Glass is in he makes D. Moore a non-factor. Watch closely...Dom has no idea what to do with this guy. remember Dom from last years run? Last night the 4th line was a joke.

While McD seems to be coming into form, Staal has had more of an impact on the first half than the captain. These grades given their "expected" production should be inverted. Additionally, with the possible exception of KK, Staal has been the most consistent presense at the blue line through the first 39 games.

All lines seem to be coming together nicely with the exception of Kreids-Step-MSL. Cant break up the top line...need to mix up 4 through 9. Miller to second line, Kreids with Hayes and Hags? Number 20 is going to break out.

Was it just me or did every Ranger before the game decide not to hit Callahan? Disgusted by the lack of physicality. Nash tried....no one followed. Glass should have been cut loose.....with a bullseye on the back of 24. He's dead to me. Where's Prust when you need him?....oh yeah....he left too because we weren't willing to pay him. Extremely bitter this morning. Where's the heart?

Amazing what getting back a top 6 defenseman can do to stabilize the blueline. Staal and Girardi not having to record 30 minutes of ice time had a positive effect on both....not to mention limiting Kostka to 11min. When Moore plays disciplined, he's a big, fast, puck moving defensemen with a mean streak....one I hope the Rangers continue to have patience with.

AV has pushed all the right buttons since he landed in NY...and I do appreciate his history of second chances....that said, Kostka is not in any way an NHL defensemen and after his two performances at MSG I question whether he deserves a roster spot in Hartford. As for McIlrath, he may one day be ready but he doesn't skate at the NHL level...thought he was going to trip over a few of the lines last night.

Tremendous performance from the boys last night. If there is such a thing as an impressive loss, that was it. A lot to be optimistic about.

If only he could skate and defend at the NHL level. We don't need a goon...AHL talent at best.

McIlrath is years away if at all. By far the least effective player on the ice last night. Lets not confuse playing physical with dropping the gloves....he was soft in the defensive zone, not winning battles. His skating is too weak to play at the next level. Time to move on from him Kevin.

Time to sit McDonagh. He is becoming much too much of a liability along with ineffectiveness. He clearly is not nearly 100%. Much better off with Diaz at this point.

I question the breakup of 36,16 and 67. Most consistent line all season.

He's the heart and soul of this team....but let's all face it...he's a 5 year $4.5M/yr guy at best. Anything more than that is emotion getting in the way of our next Cup.
