@jayesalser Here's one big worry for me is if my wife gets into a wreck (she works in MA 40 miles from me), I've got no way to get to her. N o friends, no family and I'm isolated here. My wife can be, well, can be.............She just bought herself a loaded Jeep Patriot, told me she would help get my bug but am told now we can't afford it. Why make promise you can't keep plus and the money we had, thousands went to support her niece who married a druggie. We paid rent, supplied Christmas, made auto payments, Insurance payments put her on a phone plane groceries from Sept-Jan '13. I pay most of my VA and SocSec checks to maintain house. Oh, well. I probably shouldn't say all these things and sign off with frustrated---the Hermit

I don't car if the cars got dents (little ones) nothing perfect. Just something mechanically sound with good interior and 1600cc dp engine. Normal tires. But why are the cars all on the West Coast? Some FL and NC but mostly CA, OR, WA, TX, NV
Wolf.. Guess your letter did some good.
@jayesalser @WolfLacey (TJ) I've been practice driving a standard shift for a year or so and find that I can do anything sitting down. I've even paid particular attention to autosticks. It's the walking an d getting around that way that's got me plus driving was the one way I could relax, take photos, take my self to doctor's appointments or finding a coffee house where the same group of guys meet everyday. Since the article was posted, the prices on Ebay have really jumped and all the cars seem to be on the west coast. That's a thousand dollar shipping fee. Florida, same thing. I drove for a living covering the states of IN (my home), Ohio, Illinois. And I always drove nonstop when coming to visit my Mom when she was alive. It's in my blood. I guess all the cars on the west coast are mexican... Never got a speeding ticket and never got lost and my car never broke down. I's still have it if not for the Black Icy road with the chuck wholes that flipped me when I just got it under control. I even miss the smell the bugs all had...lol I've been on my own since I was fifteen and that enters into all this, too. Not too many clubs out this way and my wife won't even take me to see my kids in KY and all my grandbabies I've never seen. But Jay and your wife, thank you. There's still hope. And it should have read over three HUNDRED THOUSAnd miles on it.
Native American--just call me Wolf.
Oh, really neat. Mine was a dull green and one day I decided to hand compound/polish it. Took all day but people thought that I had it repainted. Just doing that brought the value of the car up considerably. Oh, she ran so sweet because I worked in it as an on the road petroleum salesman. Had a K40 CB and the truckers knew me as the little green bug and developed a lot of friends. The one pictured above it seems the left rear wheel is tilted in at the top. Now that I'd get fixed. Wolf Peace within.

I can't tell you how disappointed and lost I am now since reading the scam article. The two places I look and now I may as well stop. Right now I've got a huge array of hospital bills coming up. I fall when I walk and I can't get up without help. I have severe spinal stenosis and if I don't treat it now, I'll lose more of my abilities. I haven't been anywhere since Memorial Day. I have no friends here and my family is in KY. So, I'll have to give up on getting a bug. Just wanted a good running car that I know about. I drove in road Rallies, and other NEISCCA. Wnet all over the East coast when I lived in IN. Never broke down and I got it for $300 and had it insured for 2600. I babied that car and only added an extruder to it to help it breathe. Castrol GTX 5W40 oil every 3500 miles and tune up every ten. thousand. Oh well, Dreamers can dream.
I'm 69 and had a 68 VW Bug 1600dp and put three hundred plus miles on. A freak black ice storm/road of ill repair took my bug and my second one got stolen. Since I'll probably only have one more car, I wanted another bug 68-71. As I'm on fixed income (Vet VA), I watch in desperation almost and I would be the first to jump on one of these ads. Thanks for your warning. Used our money last year for family who's husband was druggie. Thousands and now it's just a dream. Since seeing your video, it looks like a pipe dream now but thanks for the warning. I stay home and am like a hermit. I never go out and have difficulty walking. Anyway, thanks for the info. Not many VW's up this way (NH).
