@zvill22  Thanks man! I didn't catch that when I was looking back over it.

Of course Williams is going to give the edge to Garnett, that is his teammate.  I don't know what he is smoking but there is no question that Duncan is the better out of the two.

Say what you will but the Nets had their hands full with a team that was limited to their bench players.  Though the Spurs lost, or in ESPN words, were stunned by the Nets whom had every single player available, I still liked the heart of the team.

You guys nailed some great points.  I think the Spurs have come out sluggish and Parker in the first game was trying to do too much quickly instead of letting the game come to him and do what he does best, control the game.

I am going to have to admit that when I heard we were trading away George Hill I too was a little upset.  Hill has a lot of upside and he is proving it with the Indiana Pacers.  I don't want to take anything away from Leonard because he too has a lot of potential and everyone will be in for a treat for many years to come watching him grow into the type of player we are all hoping for.

@SCOLFIELD1421 I love Ayers (Ayres) however you want to spell it.  I agree the kid is straight nasty and has a nose for the ball.  I have a great feeling about the guys that we did bring in and know they will provide some good minutes for the team.

@MOlsen These are very good points that you have made.  I agree with you and would not be mad if the starters do not play a minute during some of the games this season.  We need full strength in the playoffs and that is where all the minutes from the veterans are going to need to be.

There are a lot of mixed emotions about this signing for San Antonio but frankly I am happy with what he could bring to the Spurs.  There is no question that the Spurs really like Howard as they have been trying their hardest of getting them, like Michael has stated in his article.  I believe it was something San Antonio could not pass up, money wise.  Surely it is less than what Maggette or Young would be asking for.

I too have been a fan of Howard, back when he was in Dallas. I hope he can play at the high level he once did and also more importantly stay healthy.

@Spursfan66 Thank you for the comment.  Health will be the issue for the Warriors, if they can stay healthy, they can make noise.

@MOlsen I agree with you on Baynes.  He has a big body and he proved during the playoffs last year that he will not be afraid to body up his counterparts.  As far as pushing Diaw, I am not sure.  Diaw is a factor in the Spurs offense.  His passing ability is great for a big man.  He also can bring bigs away if he is hitting a mid-range jumper too.  But I do like Baynes.

As for Mills.  You have to love his spirit and fight when he gets into the game.  He makes the most out of his opportunities and that is what Spurs fans love about him, as well as any other player that comes off of the bench.

I like what I am seeing from Ayers and what he can bring to the team but Aaron Baynes has really proven that he did work on his game during the offseason.  He has a tremendous upside and is a big body down-low.  Health is going to be the key factor for the Spurs again this year.  I think if Baynes continues to produce during the regular season he will surely get more minutes.

Belinelli many fans are hoping will make a big impact for the team as he did when he was in Chicago.  His shooting is definitely what will help San Antonio.  When Ginobili and Parker are penetrating into the paint, they have the talent to kick-out to the shooters and Belinelli I feel will make the most of his chances.

@Coxcr20 Great point.  Health right now is the main area that we need to look at and pray for.  This team is bound to once again make a strong playoff run and with healthy bodies, they can do just that.

@Emicris @Mike ProjectSpurs Exactly right!  Who are they going to have fill the void of Kevin Martin.  Though Martin did not have the scoring output before he landed in OKC, he still poses a threat on the court and another scoring option for the Thunder.

Great article Jose.  You hit on some key points here.  I do also like the comparison of Brent Barry here.  When watching some Bulls games last season, I couldn't help but be drawn towards Belinelli and his play.  He truly will be an important piece to the Spurs success this coming season.

@Emicris Thank you for the comment.  I do feel that the Thunder need Westbrook though.  Durant has proven to be the leagues best scorer, but even in the playoffs, they showed they were a team that was needing the services of Westbrook.

I am going to keep an eye on Victor Oladipo.  Watching him during the summer leagues and able to catch some preseason games, he is looking as if he is going to have a fine rookie season.  I also going to be watching more of Baynes.  He is getting better and better everytime he steps onto the floor.

I can't say that I am surprised to hear that he is suffering from some sort of injury.  I for one feel that San Antonio did dodge a bullet.  This pretty much sums up what I am thinking, Oden will not be able to finish a season in his career.

@spursfan80 I am not going to sit here and say that he should be given that 15th spot but there has to be something in him that the San Antonio Spurs do like.  I do agree with you on the frustrations that can come up with him being in the system and then being picked up by another team.
