Leigh Bowery is truly frightening, yet Freud seems to make him seem half-way normal in his paintings. Ironies never cease.

@Nintendonerd88 Post Script: who gives a fuck about remakes anyway?
3 years, 1 month ago on Top 10 Horror Remakes
@Nintendonerd88 You're wrong. I like SOME of his videos, not all of them blindly like a fucking brainless zombie acolyte. His obsession with Hammer films is really the most contentious aspect of this website for me, and I've thoroughly enjoyed other non-horror related content....and even watched all of Monster-Madness and his rundown of sequels last year (which basically spawned this Hammer propaganda shit) and it's run it's course. Time to move on, but obviously he wants us all to think Hammer is great....but the way he presented it on Spike.com was selfish, insular and frankly autistic in it's pomposity. If you want to be his mouthpiece for all of dorkdom here that's your bad, but I dont have to buy into or believe in anything he posts, or what that ghoul Mike posts.....it's my fucking choice. If I come off as has harsh, boohoo, cry me a river little kid, this isn't a fucking nursing home. To declare an entire catalogue of bad films as the "number one horror remake of all time" is not only idiotic, it's jaded and tedious.
It's not the opinion that I object to, James, it's the degree of stupidity behind said opinion.
Thankfully, your half-baked list is nowhere near representative of reality. The Hammer films are low-rent kitsch of a bygone era (or should I say, good-riddens era) of monumentally mediocre filmmaking. I really wonder if all of this Hammer obsessive nonsense is how you'll approach your film or further film projects, James, because I think your drawing from a completely dry well.
Need evidence? Just look at this middle-of-the-road scores from IMDB:
Dracula has Risen from the Grave: 6.3/10
Count Dracula (1970): 5.7/10
Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970): 6.2/10
The Vampire Lovers: 6.4/10
Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde: 6.5/10
The Satanic Rites of Dracula: 5.3/10
The list goes on and on and on......not a critical darling among them. Not a GEM to be found. In the top 50 list of Horror genre movies, not a SINGLE HAMMER MOVIE CAN BE FOUND. Please James, stop bilking this dead horse for all it's worth...I'm beginning to have doubts about your creative integrity. Someone should seriously hold a fucking Hammer intervention for your obsession. Focus maybe on British Lion Filmmaking, or Merchant-Ivory, or a production house that actually made movies worth watching.
This is the simplest answer ever: Muppet babies are baby Muppets. The cartoon medium is used to express the artists', aka Jim Henson's workshop, interpretation of what their childhood would be like. They can never reproduce and never do since they are all different species. Although, gay sex has, and does, happen often, especially between Animal, Fozzie bear and Swedish Chef.

What's up with the dead eyes in the picture? Was this some bizarre attempt at irony? Or something more sinister......I'm sorry, but this whole thing smacks of a set-up. He's been doing kiddie movies like a bachelor on steroids in his lad-cave and you just suddenly materialize like 'Lady of the Lake'....what's missing in your relationship that he can run-amok like a semi-medicated 12-year-old with Aspergers dancing with the Turtles in a drunken 8bit stupor like a Peter Pan with progeria circa 1991? Your love of Hammer movies? I bet one was playing in the background, with Christopher Lee baring fangs on a projector behind the minister. James looks like he's crawling out of his skin in that picture....I always thought he was a seriously closeted metrosexual, with Mike playing the versatile power-bottom. Clarification?

@AJY84 Nobody's forcing you to watch the fucking movies, so what do you care if they're paid fairly or not? That concept to me is absurd buddy, you don't have to watch anything on the internet, you're not forced to. Now, I can understand James's dilemma with this issue, since it directly violates what he's grown into doing best, which is and will always be a niche market, but his site is monetized so this may now be his 'living' as our parents used to make it. Yet, like I said, no one is forcing us on the internet and to me, whatever extra entertainment value I've derived from it has been appreciated, but it's not essential to my life. For me, even if they shut the fucking internet down permanently, I may make a little prayer to all those porn sites and torrents, and of course cinemassacre, but life would go on. For some it wouldn't, and that's the real tragedy here.
@ford3517 Sweden has a smaller economy, and has taken a hit recently with the bankruptcy of Saab and the Euro crisis, so they aren't immune either, flexible copyright laws or not.
@Insane Ian Maybe it's just a fucking movie. Throwing that out there....

Okay, a couple things......please please please stop referencing Hammer movies. They suck. I know you're obsessed with them but, for the love of Pete, have mercy. The first clip didn't even include somebody burning....epic fail.
Secondly, you don't have to keep saying the word 'gem' over and over again. These are horror flicks, not cinematic 'gems'. Cinematic phlegm, huh, closer.

Um, it's hale, not hail. I love the imagery though...you should become a writer.
Spoken like a true tool.
I think the essence of what's been said about James and Mike, even though I dont think they deliberately made racist comments about the film, sort of hold true because when you see them watching other movies, especially the Godzilla ones, you dont hear them say, "God, look at this big Japanese lizard! Look how he ended up in Japan of all places," and the such. It smacks of inconsideration and intolerance, even though, as I said, I doubt James and Mike are bigots, it's just implied in their commentary. I mean, these horror films, with a few exceptions, no matter where they were produced, aren't great masterpieces of art, in fact they're shitty. Godzilla movies look and sound shitty, old black and white monster movies look and sound shitty. It's a a junk-drawer genre like blaxploitation or slashers. It holds a certain camp quality but little else.....I think the stories behind the creation of those movies, and the stories about individual actors are much more fascinating and interesting than the actual movies themselves. Anyway, to sum up, in the future James and Mike, be careful about how derisively you say the word of a specific culture, people or country...it just may come off as racist.
What would be better, honestly is if you could place the text box next to the screen, either left or right, because in order to watch the full screen of the movie and type you have to lower the screen, unless there are extremely large screens that can accomodate this (I'm on a laptop), so if the chat occured live on the right of the screen, you could see comments popping up as the movie played, and be able to type and watch. Just ideas. Also, if you announced premieres of these films, then you could have a running chat going on before and during, and possibly after the film that would really add to the experience. I guess a miniature chatroom would work for this....another possible idea, just something where everyone could type and talk and watch at the same time.
Okay, here we go....now I'm able to comment during the film....just had to hit the upper portion of the box....this is actually pretty cool!
Hey, that was funny....is Livefyre supposed to work while you're watching the movie, as in, live chat...because I found it was not working and would reset the entire clip to the beginning, including ads whenever I tried commenting during the movie. Maybe I'm hitting the wrong portion of the text box.....it would be cool to have a running commentary during the film, I guess while you guys are doing a commentary. A commentary on top of a commentary.
