Exactly what my point was about taking the decision out of brooks hands, just don't see it happening.

Exactly my point, why, if he's such a great low post defender could he not handle asik? I realize most all of that was on the pnr but perk is making a living on the reputation that he's a great defender.

Agree that he isn't going anywhere, and also agree that on most teams an amnesty doesn't make sense. However, we have seen first hand that at times presty has to force brooks hand on his stubbornness for the overall improvement of the team. As in trading uncle jeff. So an amnesty would effectively force brooks to adjust the philosophy and/or groom a replacement for perk. Also, to say the nba is a changed game and that perk has little use, 3 of the 4 teams likely in the conference finals have Tim Duncan, Marc gasol and zbo, hibbert and David west. Perk's supposed skill set should theoretically have value if he could perform. He SHOULD have been an asset against gasol. And give me a good excuse he had no role in the houston series? Is boxing out asik and defending him on the pnr out of his ability?

Don't really want to dwell on this because what's done is done and its in the past, however in hindsight the easier player to replace would have 100% been ibaka and/or perk. If they had signed harden to max and traded ibaka then amnestied perk they could use a pick from the ibaka trade and cheap free agents to fill the void. Is everyone really assuming cole is that much worse than perk? Is that even possible? Just saying I'd like the thunders chances of being something truly special for the remainder of their contracts with a core of rw, kd, and the beard moreso than with ibaka. Think people confuse ibaka's "uniqueness" being a 6'11" shot blocker with a nice shooting stroke with him being a special player. The beard is by all accounts a "special" player. You don't give that up.

Thunder fan in nw arkansas, been watching Ronnie since he was in high school. Good defender, huge for a guard, not a great shooter because his form is bad. He moves really well without the ball and is an underrated passer. High bb iq.

So long home court advantage. Nice while it lasted.

Do dirks lips not cover his grill? Or are they just fatigued from all the lip service he pays the refs

Pretty sure an angel gets its wings every time brooks uses a cliche.

@Phi Gamma Body Slamma You missed a few major tragedies. You need to look into making pics of major tragedies in history and photoshop brooks pics into the backgrounds.

So many guys with empty minutes on this team. Fish, perk, sometimes sef and collison. One guy "intangibles" guy with heavy minutes ok, but 4?

@dream catcher I was just looking at some of the metric stats this year. Westbrooks assists per 40 is the lowest he's ever had while all our role players are seeing their lowest usg rates and pts per 40. Someone brought up all the more veteran players the spurs tend to sign as role players but I'm not sure anyone will ever want to come to okc knowing they will never get the ball and will rarely be setup for good looks. Not to mention breaking into our rotation set in stone.

Anybody else see cole's per lately? 19.4 at 14 and 11 per 40. I realize it's mostly been garbage time but it caught me off guard seeing it.

@justin_mia Doesn't seem like anybody else is mentioning that and I agree 100%. I understand westbrooks offense kept us in it to an extent but every time they got close he would take an ill advised 3 or terrible leaning jumper with 20 left on the shot clock. Then Danny green would make a play to keep us at arms length. Westbrook used to be my favorite player on this team but he needs someone to tell him when he makes a mistake. Not sure he has that now.
