@MachineLaw No doubt. That's such unbelievable bullshit that I'm surprised it was even posted as a rumor. :P

@abrusszeno Well, if you can't think of one single movie that had large-scale battles in it that featured effective CGI and that everyone dug the shit out of just the same, then maybe you're not qualified to put your two cents in here.

@SsJVasto Um...you do understand that motion-capture would allow the actor to fight another actor that they could later replace with a CGI monster, right? With the right choreography you can do a pretty convincing job, especially if the thing you're fighting is essentially humanoid in figure as the aliens are in this flick. Not that I disagree with you. Practical effects are always more impressive to me, but CGI has its place as well and shouldn't just be dismissed offhand like it always seems to be, especially around here. Hell, some of the modern movies that we all love wouldn't be possible today without CGI, or would look a hell of a lot more like high-budget home-videos without it.
Has anyone seen the Archfiend video where he rants about James' IndieGoGo campaign and calls Mike an asshole for doing nothing more than respectfully disagreeing with him after he took it upon himself to send him a scathing message criticizing James for the fundraiser? Holy fucking shit is that guy unhinged.

@JohnnyNightrain B12, Johnny. That's one thing that's in meat that isn't in vegetables. Ovo-Lacto vegetarians don't need to take supplements to get it but vegans do, and it's very important that they do.
I apologize for not addressing the rest of your post. It's just that besides pretty much preaching to the choir in regards to the dismal quality of store-bought food these days, I think you've totally misread me here. I never was out to argue that vegetarianism is wrong or that eating meat is right. I have no horse in that particular race one way or the other as I firmly believe in living and let living. To each their own and all that. I just took umbrage with the idea that it's ignorant for folks to believe that vegetarians don't get enough vitamins in their diet when doctors have been saying exactly that for pretty much as long as people have been vegetarians. Whether right or wrong, I don't think that conclusion is one of ignorance.

@AMillah @BramBrouwers If it's ignorance, then blame medical professionals for it. They recommend that both vegetarians and vegans alike take supplements to get the necessary vitamins and minerals that their diets are otherwise lacking. Hell, just Google the words vegan and vegetarian and you'll notice that the first several pages of results are filled with links that discuss how important it is for anyone considering the diets to take vitamin supplements. So yeah, not so convinced that it's ignorance, really. Now, what is ignorant is the idea that vegetarians and vegans are sickly squirts who could keel over dead at any moment.
@OfficialJab I expected the Nerd web-series on a slightly higher scale. As long as they deliver that, I'm sure I'll be satisfied. :)
You're kidding, right? Salted butter is pretty darned common in the US at least. :P

@DBK If he was just in this to generate merchandise, then yeah, I could see people calling him a sell-out. But it should be completely clear by now that the dude has a passion for film-making and enjoys entertaining people with his work. If he wants to sell some merch at this point then I think he's beyond entitled to.

@rvIceBreaker@Msscrd It's not as easy as all that, though. While his viewers are certainly entitled to offer him creative criticism, James has to take into account his larger fan-base. A small sampling of people from an already small number of his overall worldwide fanbase doesn't really paint a very clear picture of what he should or shouldn't do. As Msscrd said, there are probably a vastly greater number of his fans who don't ever comment than do. Out of that comparatively low number, a smaller percentage of them have problems with his videos, and fewer still ever bother to offer him anything in the way of genuine creative criticism. A good deal of it is from people who feel like James owes them what they want, delivered in the exact manner they feel entitled to exactly when they want it, and there's nothing constructive that James can take from that. It's just entitled whining, and it serves nobody. Simply put, even if it was all creative criticism, if what James is doing appears to work for the majority of his viewers, then there's a greater risk involved in changing things up all for the sake of that small handful of people than there is in continuing to do it. He may lose those few viewers, but that's the risk you always take as an entertainer. You can't please everyone all the time, so you gotta just accept that and do the best you can. The sooner that folks on the receiving end realize that, the better off we'll all be. None of that is to say that people shouldn't offer him creative criticism, but that as long as they continue to be in the minority, they shouldn't shit themselves if James doesn't change things up to suit them. It's unreasonable to expect it, and most importantly, it aint ever gonna happen.
In your case, this is something you appear to understand judging by your later comment, so I'm not sure why you called Msscrd a retard. The dude is saying that James doesn't have a responsibility to satisfy the minority. That's kind of right...

@apanted@Msscrd I find it ironic that the guy who has spent way more time than necessary whining about a video for no other reason than that it doesn't meet with his expectations would dare call someone else narrow-minded. That's the fucking height of hypocrisy, man. And listen. Regardless of whether or not this is "the internet", being a drooling mongoloid dick-face just for the sake of it isn't acceptable, especially not just because you and every other mouth-breathing troll with malformed social skills have convinced yourselves that it is. Just because you can't get punched in the face for being a dick online doesn't mean that you can just go around being a dick. And why is it that dickheads like you eagerly play that card anyway, but then get pissy about the shit other people say to you? I mean, if this is just the internet, then why do you give half a squirt of piss that he thinks you're an entitled cunt? Which you most certainly are, by the way. If you've got the right to be one and say whatever the fuck you please without consequence, then doesn't he have the right to express his opinion that you're a lousy shit-stain? Shouldn't you just accept that he's free to say whatever the fuck he wants about you and get on with your miserable life, what with this being "the internet" and all? Or is it just only the internet when you're running off at the mouth like an insufferable douche-bag, but it's real life when someone posts something that reminds you that when you strip away whatever authority that you imagine you have over other people on the internet, you're just a sad, pathetic, useless dick-hole? Again, this is just the internet, right? If that's really the case, and not just something you use to justify being a socially maladjusted fuck-tard, then you don't really have much room to get pissy about the shit other people say to or about you, especially not if you're going to trot out that fucking worn out defense to justify trolling in the first place. You can't have your cake and eat it too, fucko. As for your whining about the video, while you're entitled to critique James' work, what you're not entitled to do is whine about not getting exactly what you feel you're owed. The reality is that James owes you not a fucking thing, and that if you're unsatisfied with his work, then you can just fuck off and find something else to occupy the time you spend in your mom's basement eating Cheetos off of your flabby chest, since you clearly don't know the difference between creative criticism and being an entitled douche-nozzle. This is free entertainment. It aint the end of the world if James made a video or two that didn't tickle your nut-sack. The sooner you realize that the world doesn't revolve around your ass in spite of it having the gravitational pull necessary to facilitate that, the better you'll function when you finally move out of your mommy's basement and give the real world a try, where shit doesn't often go the way you want it, and nobody will give half a squirt of piss about how that makes you feel one way or the other.
"Success couldn’t have fallen on a more deserving guy."
Amen. James always impressed upon me as being this intelligent, down-to-earth guy, and it's great to see him doing so well. Best of wishes to both of you. :)

@Mike/Cinemassacre@ClevelandRock Was it supposed to be a joke when you said you played it several times and still heard penis? It's just that at that point, it kind of tipped over the scale and became kind of...contrived.

They said "...because his brain's on Venus!". Also...tossed salad is a thing and doesn't just have sexual connotations, so it's kind of a stretch to imagine that the writers threw that in to get one over on the censors. Also, watch Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey if you want to know what a Melvin is, 'cause it aint a boner...
