Hamilton has all the nuance of a South American soccer announcer. Hamilton is all schtick, a carnival barker at best. The, " he gets paid to talk" argument is pretty weak. That's like saying Giambi gets paid to swing. No, he gets paid to hit. Yakking up a lung every time the ball leaves the infield is unfortunately Hamilton's calling card. Look at it this way, in music, the spaces between the notes are every bit as important as the melody. It's called rhythm, pacing, and dynamics. It's important. The crowd sounds, the beer guys, the whistles, John Adam's drum beats, and just the crowd noise in general lets the broadcast breathe. Hamilton rather than using these things to his advantage, goes into them with his cleats high. He has no tangible respect for the game from a broadcast perspective.
Bless you Ernie Harwell, wherever you are.

Hawk's silence let the crowd noise tell the story...much better than Hamilton's re-enactment of a new inmate's prison shower initiation.
