I don't think that a "x" suffix or even saying a price is going to be "n times" higher is common in typical US pricing. I have never seen it in any other consumer context.
Price changes are generally described in actual dollar amounts e.g. "$5 convenience fee" or by percent e.g. "5% surcharge."It would have been clearer to say NYE prices will be 625% higher than formal.
However, even using percentage would have been confusing, because such price fluctuations never happen in normal consumer contexts, unless you live in some third world country where inflation is running rampant.
