really it's no surprise. Tim is one of the best basketball players out there. As for Manu it's probably what have you done for me lately and he hasn't stuck out lately. Manu really has never been that popular except with Spurs fans. The only time he really stuck out and was at the top of the list is when he won the gold medal at the Olympics. For some reason even when Manu was good he still wasn't that popular overseas.
2 months ago on Ex-Spur Horry didn't mind getting cussed out by Popovich
I wish Manu would've retired for his sake. The sad thing is this is he'll always be remembered this way by some. I wished he decided to hang it up and do other things with his life because I really like him as a person.
3 months, 2 weeks ago on Ginobili briefly contemplated retirement
It seems like all people remember now are his bad times he's brought the Spurs. I really wished he hung it up this summer so he didn't have to get blasted anymore and that he can start moving on with his life. I know he had a horrible year but he recently said the same thing
4 months, 3 weeks ago on Manu's new deal in the spotlight
I'm really hoping Manu's wife talks him into retiring while he's on his nice long vacation. There's no reason he should have to go out being hated so much. I know he had a horrible playoffs but that's no reason for the hate. Hopefully we can get some new players in the meantime and he can do other things with his life.
5 months, 1 week ago on Report: Spurs interested in Pachulia, no movement yet with Ginobili
I hope for his sake he retires but I know he doesn't want to do that. I hate watching him struggle so much and would hate to watch him play until he has nothing left (which is already starting to happen).
5 months, 2 weeks ago on Outside the system, Manu Ginobili still fits
Still don't like Karl after all that complaining and crying he had to do about Manu in the 2005 playoffs that gave Manu his flopping reputation when Manu was owning them. By the way it's not a Big 4 anymore. I think we need to start relying less on Manu anymore. I think he has become part of the Big 3.

I'd say rest Manu until after the AS break.

Congrats to Tony. He well deserves it. I was surprised to see that Manu made as many AS appearances as Sean Elliott. For some reason it feels like Sean has done more in this league in accomplishments than Manu with only 2.

If he gets one or two more freak injuries this season I really see Manu retiring.
10 months, 2 weeks ago on Spurs summer plans will hinge on Ginobili
I was surprised to see Manu go on the roadtrip especially since he's not going to play in any of them and should be home instead. I guess Pop had to at least bring him so nobody would give them a hard time.
10 months, 3 weeks ago on Minus Duncan and Ginobili, Spurs win over Hawks behind Parker, Splitter, and Bonner
He can say all he wants about the Spurs but I've been turned off by Karl especially all the whining and crying he did to the media about Manu's flopping when Manu was owning his team in the playoffs. Funny how Manu didn't have a reputation as a flopper until Karl started the media junk about his flopping.
11 months, 3 weeks ago on Karl says he's a 'Spur guy'
that almost sounds like an insult to Manu though. It may be true but Manu's success probably played a big part in making basketball more popular in that country and kids interested in playing it.

Manu was doing it before he even came into the league.

Time for Manu to call it quits and retire. It's really concerning that he's had two injuries (foot and back) before the season even started. Give him an assistant coach job in the meantime. No wonder why he wouldn't rule out retirement before the season started.
1 year, 1 month ago on Ginobili out for season opener
Manu should've dressed up as Batman since he is known for his encounters with bats instead. Also I see mini-Manu (Nando) is also dressed up as Zorro. I wonder who planned that.

It will be interesting to see who takes Manu's place in these commercials if he decides to retire after this season? De Colo?
1 year, 1 month ago on Spurs' Duncan, Ginobili not on guest list at BBQ
I would give De Colo a lot of Manu's minutes and let Manu rest a lot until closer to the playoffs.
1 year, 1 month ago on French Connection should pay off for Spurs
Until he can hit a bat from mid air, lead his international team to several medals, and be relied as the clutch player on this team he won't ever be Manu. I do think he'll be a good player and with Manu retiring possibly next year we're going to be able to use him a lot more. By the way I know Pop was teasing but that sounded almost like an insult to Manu about not having two Manu's.
1 year, 2 months ago on Report from Spurs training camp: TD boxing, Popovich doesn't want two Ginobili's and more
I know we all think Manu's going to resign at the end of the season but I still think he may retire after the season depending on how our season goes and if he ends up having a lot of injuries. To him he's accomplished everything he can in the NBA so what's left for him and why keep playing until he has nothing left? I heard him say he really missed his kids and never really got to see them much this summer so you know how it is on him during the season.
1 year, 2 months ago on Manu extension coming? What about Jackson?
Manu was a flopper but I'm sick of them acting as if he was the biggest floppers in the league. Nobody talked about him as a flopper until George Karl complained and cried about him and ever since then all he's known for is flopping. He's become more of a 3 point shooter the last few years so his flopping has really decreased. The sad thing is how many bloody noses and broken faces does he have to get to know that he's really being fouled. I guess this is a great time for Manu to end his career.
