I'm getting bad flashback of last years in the playoffs.  He started off and got worse as the playoffs progressed.  I say keep decreasing his minutes.  Fortunately we have enough to get by without him.  I'd rather him not play.

by the way how did Manu injure his hand tonight.  He had it wrapped up and then when he was finally sitting down the trainer was wrapping it with a whole bunch of ice and he was really grimacing.  I know he told Sean it was nothing but you know how Manu is.

really it's no surprise.  Tim is one of the best basketball players out there.  As for Manu it's probably what have you done for me lately and he hasn't stuck out lately. Manu really has never been that popular except with Spurs fans.  The only time he really stuck out and was at the top of the list is when he won the gold medal at the Olympics.  For some reason even when Manu was good he still wasn't that popular overseas.

I wish Manu would've retired for his sake.  The sad thing is this is he'll always be remembered this way by some. I wished he decided to hang it up and do other things with his life because I really like him as a person.

It seems like all people remember now are his bad times he's brought the Spurs.  I really wished he hung it up this summer so he didn't have to get blasted anymore and that he can start moving on with his life.   I know he had a horrible year but he recently said the same thing

I'm really hoping Manu's wife talks him into retiring while he's on his nice long vacation.  There's no reason he should have to go out being hated so much.  I know he had a horrible playoffs but that's no reason for the hate.  Hopefully we can get some new players in the meantime and he can do other things with his life.

I hope for his sake he retires but I know he doesn't want to do that.  I hate watching him struggle so much and would hate to watch him play until he has nothing left (which is already starting to happen).

Still don't like Karl after all that complaining and crying he had to do about Manu in the 2005 playoffs that gave Manu his flopping reputation when Manu was owning them.  By the way it's not a Big 4 anymore.  I think we need to start relying less on Manu anymore.  I think he has become part of the Big 3.

Congrats to Tony.  He well deserves it.  I was surprised to see that Manu made as many AS appearances as Sean Elliott.  For some reason it feels like Sean has done more in this league in accomplishments than Manu with only 2.

I was surprised to see Manu go on the roadtrip especially since he's not going to play in any of them and should be home instead.  I guess Pop had to at least bring him so nobody would give them a hard time.

He can say all he wants about the Spurs but I've been turned off by Karl especially all the whining and crying he did to the media about Manu's flopping when Manu was owning his team in the playoffs. Funny how Manu didn't have a reputation as a flopper until Karl started the media junk about his flopping.

Time for Manu to call it quits and retire.  It's really concerning that he's had two injuries (foot and back) before the season even started. Give him an assistant coach job in the meantime.   No wonder why he wouldn't rule out retirement before the season started.

Manu should've dressed up as Batman since he is known for his encounters with bats instead.  Also I see mini-Manu (Nando) is also dressed up as Zorro.  I wonder who planned that.

Until he can hit a bat from mid air, lead his international team to several medals, and be relied as the clutch player on this team he won't ever be Manu.  I do think he'll be a good player and with Manu retiring possibly next year we're going to be able to use him a lot more.  By the way I know Pop was teasing but that sounded almost like an insult to Manu about not having two Manu's.

I know we all think Manu's going to resign at the end of the season but I still think he may retire after the season depending on how our season goes and if he ends up having a lot of injuries.  To him he's accomplished everything he can in the NBA so what's left for him and why keep playing until he has nothing left?  I heard him say he really missed his kids and never really got to see them much this summer so you know how it is on him during the season.

2 years, 2 months ago on Manu extension coming? What about Jackson?

Reply

Manu was a flopper but I'm sick of them acting as if he was the biggest floppers in the league.  Nobody talked about him as a flopper until George Karl complained and cried about him and ever since then all he's known for is flopping.  He's become more of a 3 point shooter the last few years so his flopping has really decreased.  The sad thing is how many bloody noses and broken faces does he have to get to know that he's really being fouled.  I guess this is a great time for Manu to end his career.

I don't know why people say it's been Manu's team.   It never has.  He's been a great player but he's always been behind Tim and Tony on this team and most of his prime years he's been a bench player.   Tim and Tony have always been the team captains on this team.

I thought Manu's contract expired after this season.  I would at least love to keep him and have him work in the front office or even as an assistant coach but knowing Manu he wants to go back home to Argentina.  I can see him doing something with basketball over there.  I have a hard time believing that he'll give it up completely.

I'm tired of people comparing every player we bring in here or any European lately as the next Manu Ginobili.  Maybe they are similar or even more athletic but until they come into the league with many Euroleague titles, a gold medal in the olympics, etc. and have proven they are the team's best clutch player they are not alike.  I've been hearing and reading about all the euro players being the next Manu recently.  Glad to have De Colo though and think he'll be a great contributor especially with Manu retiring next season.

Well with Manu on the verge of retiring possibly next year and a summer full of international basketball I see him get getting very limited minutes so I think we'll see a lot more of these young guys out there playing.  We already saw Manu get very limited minutes during the season and the playoffs (he had a little over 20 minutes).  I see Manu as more of a mentor.

I had a bad feeling that Manu would be and I would really have missed him.  Face it no matter how much we love him and how much he's done for us, he's also been injury prone for the last few years and because of all his injuries he's been a big reason why we haven't won another championship.  He's still talented and fortunately we have enough talent to be able to play him limited minutes this year.

why do they say it was  Manu's team at one time?  It never has.  He's always been behind Tim and Tony especially since he's always been a sixth man.  As for Tony I hope he can continue to keep it up .  He's been amazing.  I just only hope Manu wakes up eventually during the playoffs.  I don't know if it's because the starters already get a huge lead so he feels he doesn't   have to do much but he's been sleepwalking through the playoffs lately and really hasn't been trying too much.
