@Oboy Just curious, why do you say that? He seems to be the wing defender that helps most aggressively, and that's kind of how Memphis hurt us in Game 2. Edit: from what I could see. I'm not exactly an expert.
1 day, 7 hours ago on Practice Report: Adjusting
@JoBloggs Well, he's talking defensively, and our philosophy**/general approach is aggressively attack the ball (especially in PnRs) and help aggressively, counting on 2nd- and 3rd-line rotations to close out on shooters.
**and yes, "philosophy" isn't the best term for this, it's really more scheme/approach etc. But coaches use that kind of language all the time.
@FunakiEjectsAnother The problem is that Memphis can hide Gasol/Zbo on a less threatening wing player (basically Butler/Fisher) instead of forcing them to guard the league MVP.
Things that were frustrating about last night:
1. Beno frickin' Udrih
2. Collison (our best Zbo defender) only playing 15 minutes and Adams (rebounding/energy) only playing 3.
3. Beno frickin' Udrih.
4. Crunch time offense flashing back to the series last year w/o Russ. Yes Memphis is good at defense and yes we didn't execute like we should. Still very frustrating.
5. Fisher and Butler on the court at the same time. I love what both bring to our team, but I will never understand playing them together. Especially in a series against Memphis.
6. Tony Allen mugging KD all over the court all night long.
7. For good measure, Beno frickin' Udrih.

@GlendaGonzales @Mr_F Yeah, but "reliability" comes with time. Certainly the players deserve the lion's share of the credit for their improvement, but it's impossible to look at player development around the league without realizing that OKC is doing something exceptional with the talent they have.
@Fastbreak Sefolosha @Sustainable Parameters Why are you even watching the games then?
@Fastbreak Sefolosha Everyone is having flashbacks to last postseason.
People said the same thing about Harden in his first two years.
Yeah they definitely had good timing on their rebounds and made us pay for giving them up. I only knew we out rebounded them because I thought the same thing as you after the game until I looked at the box score.
@bmuelle23 We actually had four more offensive rebounds than they did, and overall outrebounded them by 2.
@sammasaaron I think Brooks is a lot better than most people here give him credit for. That said, I don't think you can seriously dispute that he got outcoached by a rookie head coach last night.

@Lasch The timeout really wasn't that bad. It looked like it would be a jump ball, and getting possession there is the most important thing.
2 days, 17 hours ago on Grizzlies even up despite some late magic from the Thunder
@AIaska @Spike Bonze @OKC035 @Julius F Wrek I can't remember exactly when, but we tried the elevator doors late and there were 2 Griz there before KD even got there.
3 days ago on Grizzlies vs. Thunder: Pregame Primer
Nick is hands down our best Zbo defender. Criminal to only play him 15 minutes.
@okc035 I love Russ, but his defense was terrible tonight. Even off the ball he left Miller wife open for a 3.
3 days, 1 hour ago on Grizzlies vs. Thunder: Pregame Primer
15.5 total minutes with just one big. That wasn't it.
Where can I find lineup data for tonight? It felt like the only time we went small we had both Butler and Fish on the floor, which feels like a waste of small ball to me.
Honestly doesn't even matter, 1-1 either way.
@d21 @GREENE1148 Gasol missed 23 games, and anyone likely to vote for him likely voted for other no-stats defenders that played the whole season (Noah, Hibbert, even Bogut).

Yeah Clips/Warriors was terribly officiated. Yikes.

I don't recognize any of those names. That's a good thing.
3 days, 14 hours ago on Monday Bolts – 4.21.14
Thunder went with the "team power nap" strategy for halftime. Results poor.

@DanielLawler @GoLamb_Or_GoHome @Mr_F Probably same tier as Lowry, I'd put them clearly above teague and dwill though.

@Landstander @Mr_F I like a lot of Memphis players...when we aren't playing them. Conley, Allen, even Gasol for his defense. And I think they're a rival, this will be the 3rd series in 4 years against them.
@duhsweetness If I were a fan of an underdog team, yes. But as a favorite, hell no.
@Coaeche Brooookes @Mr_F @Perk has a lot of value Pretty much.
@Perk has a lot of value I "liked" this, but can't decide if I actually like it or not. Could be good or bad.
@Landstander @Mr_F Yes? Haha I think he's about right, mostly because of his defense.
True or False: Conley is described as "underrated" so much that he's now slightly overrated.
I say false, but just barely.

@cemitten skip neckless
@d21 Nick should play 20-25 minutes/game, especially against Memphis.
6 days, 12 hours ago on Friday Bolts – 4.18.14
@DanielLawler Good point, missed that first time through. Still, though!
In the 5-on-5 preview, 2 people said Conley will outplay Russ in the series (not Royce obvs). #donthateonthebrodie
@DanielLawler I refuse to read/watch/listen to anything he does anymore.
@Perk has a lot of value I know it was limited like this last year too, and I think even the year before that.

@f5alcon @Turfright @[brooks' fault] @TempBoy Brandon Both BOK and Kaiser-Francis Oil.
@Jooseppi @[brooks' fault] @Durants Shimmy Thanks, I almost spit coffee all over my computer for that.
LOL to that first part.

So if our Game 1 is Saturday, will Game 2 be Monday? Or could it still be Tuesday?
1 week, 1 day ago on Film Study: Baseline backcut
@TheresABabyFaceUnderMyBeard I agree with this to a point, but he wasn't a consensus star while here. Otherwise you can't explain Washington and Golden State essentially passing on Harden when they had a chance at him. (He definitely was getting a max offer from at least 2-3 teams, though.)
1 week, 1 day ago on Harden: Money was the deciding factor in leaving OKC
@FunakiEjectsAnother @d21 @[brooks' fault] Love makes sense because the knock on him is defense/rim protection, which we could alleviate some playing Serge at center. I kinda like the idea of Drummond, but doubt he's available. Pass on Kyrie.
@[brooks' fault] I can't tell if you're serious or not. But there's no chance Presti would do that trade, and he may not even trade Russ for another bona fide superstar (i.e. Love). You risk losing/jading half the fan base, for one thing.
@Tvaddic Down is one thing, but 54%?! Wow.
@jameseo It's only $5 mil if you assume OKC would have signed/matched a max offer the next summer. Once he knew it was sign or be traded to Houston, though, he knew he could get that 5th year and the $20+ mil that came with it.
@Tvaddic I think even in these comments, there's a bit of a respect/"I deserve it" thing going on. Yes he wanted the max*, but it's the money and the prestige of that, since he was already sacrificing being a starter and stats (by being a 3rd option instead of a first). Just my 2 cents.
*and he was worth it
Or you could really kill intentional fouls by treating *it the same as a tech, 1 FT and the ball.

@AlexR44 @Mr_F You're right, Top 5. Which means they have no chance at all to keep it.
