The fact that so many Leeds fans justify this sale only reinforces my strong belief that the misery heaped on this club over the past 7 years is as much their responsibilty as Bates and his accomplices.

Keep Brown and sell Clayton...Madness. To anybody who puts across the point that the lad is not premiership quality all I would suggest is check out what league we are in. We are a championship club , currently still shopping in the Poundstore and rummaging around in the skips for freebies. True the lad has been inconsistent but I have a feeling that he HTFC will now reap the rewards of a hard couple of learning years and what does this club get out of it?  £500k which will be spread across a couple of freebies and their greedy bloodsucking scummy agents.

I have a feeling we will regret this but there will still be some who will still hearld it as some kind of masterstroke by our 'saviour'.  FFS

Something I do find really frustrating about  this situation at the moment is seeing the resurrecting of stories from Bates' past all over the place. As if it is news. This is not News.

It started recently with his ventures in the BVI , then Oldham , then the collapsed Irish bank and more recently Chelsea. ) combined of course shock expressed by Leeds fans that Bates is associated with our club with this sort of history.

Listen up guys...these stories about Bates were around when he first turned up on Leeds' door if you cared to look, they were around when he geremandered the administration process..they are his history. These stories were the stark warnings of becoming involved with this man , they were the warnings against giving the man any support or encouragement , they were the warnings that should have stopped people saying stupid things like..."but he saved us!"  and now I would say "We reap what we sow"

I am glad these stories of 'mutiny' are coming out from the players (although I suspect their motives are more to do with money than their love for the club) I am glad that Warnock is apparently not only briefing the Daily Mirror but also Phil Hay at the YEP about his being unhappy but most of all I am pleased at last someone is standing up against an obnoxious bully . At last many Leeds fans are standing up to Bates , better late than never I suppose.

A very frustrating time for Leeds fans indedd. I am quite hopeful though that there will be a significant change soon. I am really trying to be patient . The biggest contributory factor to my hope for the future being Bates new found ability to keep his obnoxious bullying gob shut..totally uncharacterisic for Bates.

A word of caution though , if as some believe this all falls through or the silence turns out to be Bates' sadistic sense of humour tormenting the despised supporters then there will be a backlash. The feeling of disappointment ,anger and anti climax could welll unleash a reaction that will make the little protests thus far look like a tea party , it will be significant and will probably force Bates out anyway I just worry what a forced ejection will leave behind it .

Fingers crossed whatever unfolds we will be in a position to start all over without that cretin in charge and be able to see a smile or two on Leeds Fans faces. I live in hope.

I am pleased for Grayson. He seems to be at a well run , well funded club. Grayson deserves a bit of good fortune after working for Bates  for so long on a shoestring ( forced to bring in his 3rd & 4th cloices)  Leeds won't be able to compete with Huddersfield or many others in the Championship as long as Bates lingers on, we should though be able to pick through the bargains left over but I dont begrudge Grayson at all.   For all those who continue to fund Bates think about playing 2nd fiddle to the likes of Huddersfield Town when trying to bring in new players.

Seems pretty plausible to me, I cannot see Warnock staying till August. It doesnt even have to be Sheffield United either. Practically any club in the football league carries more kudos than Leeds at the moment and if them come knocking Warnock could well be off...hell Bates would even demand compensation.

I like Warnock, he is not stupid, he must have worked out by now who he is working for and that even he could not save this club with Bates in charge. (Snoddy has certainly worked it out 100%!)

The only people who cannot see the damage Bates has done and is doing to the club are the stupid supporters who continue to throw their hard earned money into his pockets...  unbelievably stupid!     Best of luck to Warnock & Snoddy when they do escape , they will be the lucky ones and Snoddy deserves to be at a properly run club instead of the disaster that is Bates ' Leeds United

Wouldn't it be easier to just swap the whole of our Management structure (Owner, CEO  ) with some decent , sensible football people ..those who run Reading for example..so jealous that they have won promotion but jealous that they do not have a total gobshite in charge and actually seem to know what they are doing...prudent investment combined with quality manager and players = Promotion and progress.....  Bates model = Mediocrity

As for the squad I have a horrible feeling that we will lose what little quality we have (We have to to balance the books...we all know that) and we will be left with the dross who are on long ridiculous contracts......see my previous paragraph about how we find ourselves in such a mess !!

I have got to say I admire Snodgrass for speaking out, (probably pre planned prepared by his agent but hey thats football these days I supppose)  I do not blame the lad 1 bit for getting ready to jump ship, Snodgrass has family to think about and lets face it if he stays he must think that there is a distinct piossibility when he looks round the dressing room that he could be playing in Div 1 again pretty soon.

I suspect both he and McCormack will leave as soon as the window opens and White will carry their bags. Dark days ahead I am afraid , you only have to look at the club books for the truth ..significant %;s  of 2012/2013  & 2013/2014 season ticket sales already sold off to pay for the boxes.....and the transfer kitty comes from where exactly?

By the way I am not blaming Bates for this (So Bates sycophants and desciples keep your hair on!) on the contrary he is taking the opportunities the Leeds fans allow him, I have to applaud him for his guile and still managing not to snigger all the way through his interviews .... if the fans had stood up against him years ago he would have been gone by now...no doubt destroying somebody elses football club.

@TSS    My understanding is that as a private business they have no obligation whatsoever to allow people in. Under current legislation the club would only be in breach of any laws if they had barred someone on the grounds of race/reiigion/sexual orientation or disability. (That is discrimination)  A football ground is most definately 'private' and the owners can have anybody in there that they want to.  The main issue here , in my opinion is not the legality of the action but the sheer stupidity and pettiness of the action. Bates is a twat and this is merley a symptom of that !    I do believe however that he has breached the Data Protection Act in releasing the chairmans details. That most definately should be pursued.

I was hoping that Bates would have caught the mood , I was hoping that he would just keep his mouth shut , he would tame his poodles Lorimer and Harvey and we could all look forward to better days...alas wasnt to be .    The gobshite just could not resist.

Bates totally loses the plot in a radio rant on wednesday , instructs the 'former' leeds favourite (now complete embarassment Lorimer) to goad the fans in his wekly shite column and then gets his very own Smithers (Harvey) to ban the chairman of LUST.  You could not make this up. I am starting to believe that Bates really is trying to destroy my beloved Leeds United, (I know it sounds ridiculous but I can think of no other explanation ). This latest ridiulous action has prompted me to join LUST this very day and to pay my subscription.   Bates has to be stopped guys, we should work together  , it will not be easy but he must be gone and he must take his poodles with him

An excellent piece Matt BB. I must confess I find myself drawn to the rubbish that Lorimer puts out now. My emotions have ranged from mild annoyance to outright disgust at the crap he spouts. (The Don would definately be ashamed) More recently the insults hurled at Grayson (whether partially correct or not) are just inexcusable - the guy cannot respond!! They are cheap shots.

Unfortunately Lorimer has now become a figure of fun and the shame is that he will NEVER recover from this. Once Bates and his accomplices are distant memories , for as long as Lorimer lives , he will be unwelcome and loathed by the majority of Leeds fans. Derided and accused of nothing less than collaboration with the enemies of the club. The comments from Lorimer and Bates just seem to increase the anger and negativity at the club, they need to stop.

I was listening yesterday to Neil Warnocks comments after the game yesterday and if Lorimer and Bates can just keep their mouths shut , can just resist goading the fans , insulting the fans , then Warnock might just start to get some positivity back at the club. In normal circumstances he would not be my first choice but you know what , the guy makes me smile , he is positive and could just drownout the crap spouted by Bates and his puppet at least until Bates pisses off once and for all

TSS Thanks for that . An excellent antedote to the poison swirling around trying to justify Bates et al and their total failure to persuade this lad to stay.....somehow the video puts the pittance of a transfer fee into perspective...

Leeds United has become a club that knows the selling price of everybody and the value of nobody! Good luck to Jonny Howson from me

I have to agree TSS . I have always been 100% against Smith coming back (Unfortunately I have never been able to give 110% like footballers do) but you are right. It is official Leeds United are now at their lowest ebb. Losing a homegrown player like Howson (forget the arguments over his ability) declares to the football world that we are shite and going asolutely nowhere anytime soon . We might as well bring Smith back , he might as well be on our treatment table as toons...

Excellent piece dje. Thank you for taking the trouble. I feel the pain in your words .

The problem we have I thinkis that the Bates desciples are already gathering behind their messiah...belittling Howsons contribution in preparation for Bates vile insults which will surely follow Howsons eventual departure. It appears nothing he does will ever deflect them from their adoration of all things Bates. They will be there weeping and wailing when he finally does die...'hail the saviour' while others like me will be peeing on his grave

This of course is the problem , the support is divided. The club is divided, The sensible , who know exactly what Bates is and the stupid who still cannot see it.

I did resist posting an earlier response to the Delph story but it stinks to me too. Don't get me wrong I would love the lad to come back and he may well do exactly that. However I am very suspicious when the likes of Peter Lorimer (and more importantly those he speaks for) suddenly start to leak information. Why does a club that has a North Korean ' like ban on Twitter and information blackouts on transfer news figures/targets etc suddenly starts passing out information on prospective loans. Doesn't make any sense to me at all.

I agree with your financial assessment. Leeds United Limited is a company that cannot be in the rude health Bates claims, reduced crowds , reduced memberships , reduced LUTV subscriptions. (It will only get worse next season if the club remains where it is or lower) My concern is though that if it continues Bates will revert to his previous tactics......administration.

I suppose that at least if he does go that route he will surely not be able to commit the same trick again and end up still in charge...surely the numpty supporters who follow him as their 'saviour' and 'glorious leader' will not accept it again? Surely the authorities , Serious Fraud Office , Trading Standards , Revenue & Customs ....somebody , anybody .......FFS.... would stop him??

The most worrying thing for me last night was the form of White. What an excellent player the lad is , he is wasted in the championship. That lad will be packing his bags pretty damn soon , whether for Arsenal or another premiership club. Who can blame him?

I have no doubt our fat oaf of a chairman will tell a tale of greed from White or his agent but I know who I will believe and blame for losing yet another talent for nothing or next to nothing.

TSS I do think that Simon should just go for it now. Caution to the wind tomorrow against Barnsley and henceforth. I do not think much panicing will be going on, I am pretty sure that Grayson knew it would probably come to this when he came out of the last transfer window with little added quality at all. The guy is not stupid he knows that his squad is poor and any serious losses such as Howson or Snodgrass would be harmful ..both at the same time is terrible. Fingers crossed eh for the rest of the season. Mid table will be a result bearing in mind who owns the club and his recent history of failure .

Now TSS , before I make any comment on this piece can I just check if it is safe to do it without scaring away some Bill Gates type character from investing in the club.

It's just that the Village Idiot has been spouting off that negative comments on this interweb thingy have scared away investors...nothing to do with the secrecy , lack of trust , falling attendances , decidedly 3rd rate players , sky high ticket prices and thoroughly unpleasant people at the helm. I just thought it wise to check its is safe and I wont do any more harm to the club.
