Brooks needs to tell Perkins that he doesnt have the green light on offense. I cant believe he's getting the ball so much. Perkins shot a face-up 16-foot jumpshot tonight... i mean come on dude. His post-moves and the flashy passes he tries, holy moly perk just set screens and go for the boards damn it! lol.
Uhm why Reggie at the point in crunch time? Fisher and reggie both are NOT needed in crunch-time. Westbrook, Harden, Durant, Ibaka, Collison. If you need a three-point shooter put in Thabo or Cook. @LPCes99 @SammyThunderer @Jermaine
@dancassidy35 the third point had me in stitches. They dont rely on an offensive system to score, exactly those teams get exposed in the playoffs.
In my opinion he simply cant do what the thunder need of the bench. He cant handle the ball, he cant create for others or break down a defense. He's a spot up shooter who occasionally tries to finish and the basket and miserably fails. He also takes bad shots. Why do you think did Fisher want to go back to the triangle-offense? Because it suited him best. All he had to do is give the ball to kobe and stand in the corner. This team needs more than that from its back-up point, and getting destroyed defensively doesnt help at all also.
but still, Fisher isnt going to improve. He's going to be this HUGE liability on offense and defense all season long. He might bring a lot of leadership qualities, somehow this has become so valuable, but what do you say to a guy like Ibaka who's playing IMO great but is suffering from these small ball line-ups? I am sorry Serge we want Fisher to get 10 minutes more than you at let him get beat by Barea and others and let them score uncontested layups because we dont have any rim-protection without you on the floor? Ibaka at one point is going to get pissed. I hope its sooner than later. @Borgothh
Reading some posts of Royce about Fisher... boy Royce has become advocate for the Thunder franchise. The Fisher signing was a mistake. There are enough veterans on this team to win a championship. Nick, Nazr and Perk are all good leaders. I also dont recall anything more overrated than leadership by scrubs. Fisher is a scrub and he was the reason why the game went to overtime. Scott Brooks is going to play this guy no matter who's injured and who's not. The thing what annoys me is one of those Royce posts when he said that Fisher is exactly what the thunder needed because they werent really playing as a team, rather reallying on talent. This team is still doing that man. They are winning based on talent, the players are getting better and better every day, the team itself isnt. Fisher isnt going to change that because he doesnt have the ability to change that and he likes to take his fair share of shots also. This was a really bad move, and if it wasnt for KD hitting all those clutch shots people would complain about Fisher being smoked on defense by EVERYBODY and not hitting WIDE-OPEN shots.
What i actually wanted to say is that Royce has developed a biased writing-style towards the thunder, he's defending every move the franchise makes. I guess this results when you're getting really close with the franchise and its players. .
Royce, i read your blog everyday, i hope you can take some criticism from me. Perk has definitely been a disappointment. He isnt rebounding well and somehow manages to have more turnovers than made field-goals. The fact that he even gets the ball on offense that much makes me sick. In Boston, all he did was stand under the basket, and when someone penetrated he was there to receive the pass and either slam it home or get a 3 second- or traveling violation. Dude sucks offensively a lot, and if he cant rebound, he hurts this team a lot. You cant bench him though, because he would add nothing from the bench.
To me, Royce, you're kinda always arguing for the thunder, you dont point out the negative things. IMO, Kevin durant telling you on twitter that he reads your blog has changed your way of writing about the thunder drastically. You're still a very good writer though and there is a reason why i am always here and enjoy your posts.
*His defense isnt great at all
I am sorry, but i dont agree with your notes on westbrook at all. He made terrible decisions all game long. I counted at least 3 fastbreak jumpers. His defense is great at all. Deron Williams is just shooting badly. I dont know how you can say he made good decisions, some shots he takes just kill me. He forces it too much. James Harden on the other hand makes me love basketball. He's such a good creator with the basketball in his hands, so smooth to watch. Love that guy.
cool, now he can stop playing for stats.
wow at this knicks line-up. How terrible.
LOL at the crew talking about Russ' defense as Bibby makes a three on his ass. Russ' defense has been awful all year. Just gambling for steals.
russ... -.-
Russell Westbrook is an idiot. Always out of control and shooting midrange jumpers or turn it over on fastbreaks. This guy is annoying right now.
What were those Brian Davis' suicide comments about? What did he say?
No wait he just doesnt do anything. Wow thats gotta be the strangest reaction to a game-winner i've ever seen lol!
Did Harden injure himself on that play? He kinda looked hurt, did he try to shake something off?
I really feel bad for James Harden at times. He's so great with the ball in his hands. We see how great he is with the second-unit AND (!) Kevin Durant. Then Russell Westbrook comes in and he gets "downgraded" to a spot-up three-point shooter who just gets completely ignored. James Harden should be the one most pissed about this "Russell Westbrook situation".
