@-Keon  Top scorer ( i think from previous year)

@CanuckUKinToronto @T K O @Bon Scott was a Leaf fan  you make a valid point but I doubt any of those 4 who signed as FA's are going to be sent down through waivers based on preseason performance. Based on everyone being healthy one of those 4 FA's, Frattin or Holland is going to be sitting....... I just feel based on circumstance Frattin is in tough to see ice time.

@CanuckUKinToronto @T K O @Bon Scott was a Leaf fan  I don't doubt that Booth, Winnick, Santorelli, Kontiolla are all competing for maybe 2 spots in 2015 and contract extensions.... but it does pose some questions for this year..... either one of these guys sits as an FA or one of Holland or Frattin has to clear waivers or sit in the pressbox..... some difficult decisions.

@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan @T K O  just my opinion but I see him on the outside looking in and if that is the case we would probably have been better off keeping D'amigo.... maybe I'm wrong. we will find out soon enough

I don't dislike Frattin but that trade was so premature that now it barely makes sense.........

@Cameron19 @EricHussey2Day @T K O @loomx his data is no more skewed than yours. The leafs has a 2 month stretch in Feb and March of winning when they were out of the playoffs already and then had a good start to the next season.... both arguments when you combine 2 seasons is hogwash

@Cameron19 @EricHussey2Day @loomx I've watched a lot of Leaf hockey....probably only miss a couple of games a season........  a 100 game tear winning convincingly during the Wilson era? I must have missed that stretch.

To Vancouver Franson

To Toronto Jordan Subban

Leafs give up more in the deal but to see Montreal sweat would be worth it........PK thinks about playing along side his brother in his home town and holds out for UFA status in two years....gives Jordan more time to develop.

@dlb Mad @T K O not trade for PK..... trade for one of his brothers....any minor advantage to get him to sign as UFA.

I would love to see the Leafs make a deal for one of Subban's brothers...............set the table. Could you imagine the media gong show.

@Burtonboy  Has there been any leaks or speculation to what Montreal offered on a long term deal?

3 weeks, 6 days ago on Friday Mashup: We’re Gonna Need a Montage

@barjv01 When you have exclusive rights to a player money talks. Most teams will find a way to sign a player long term..............with that being said... out of all the star players that played in the GTA.... I would say Subban is the one guy that I would put my money on for returning home to play (pre retirement party contract)

@BlueSmoke  What real advantage do you get replacing Bozak with Kadri?..........offense was not the problem with the 1st line. The problem with our first line is on the defensive side...The only type of player that is going to replace Bozak is a defesive upgrade without sacrificing offense........ IMO Kadri does not do that but what you do by switching Kadri and Bozak is sacrifice secondary scoring..Kadri can make other players better.

@TheCanucksnaphook @LeafFan15 @Burtonboy @Yaknowwhat 100% agree with you but with these one year contracts what would stop them from just cutting ties if the player shits the bed........... actually never mind it's the Leafs (he's here for year, get used to it)

@Jordan29 @T K O @Murph2417 @Cameron19 @Yaknowwhat  couldn't get the sportsnet interview to pull up but here is a quote

He explained via the Buffalo News:

"It's hard to realize after being in Montreal for such a long time that you can switch over and play for the Toronto Maple Leafs," Gorges said. "Nothing against that organization or that team, but when you build a rivalry it's hard mentally, emotionally to think, ‘Wow, I've grown to hate this team, to play against them. How could I really go and put my heart and soul into it?'
"So I just wanted to take some time before I made a decision. I've been thinking about waiving it to go there over the last few days, and then this came up here today."

@Jordan29 @Murph2417 @Cameron19 @Yaknowwhat Not according to Gorges himself...... he said that in a interview that he never outright turned down the Leafs.... he said he was caught off guard when told of the trade.....then Montreal asked him to expand his list and he added Buffalo after talking with Gionta and then that trade went down.

interesting that he had a choice between short or long term.........usually you give up $ for term... if that were the case and he chose bridge deal, we probably would be over the cap right now.

@colino17 @TheCanucksnaphook  if you would take Clarkson at 3Mill then who cares if he is making 5........at this point today, his contract is not hindering any big name player from coming to Toronto because of cap space.

feel free to poke holes in my theory but................ @Cameron19  If you put that lineup together now it would be solid.... if you had drafted them and let it play out..... probably not much difference then what they are up to this point (except  if you added Nichushkin but that swap would never have happened)

@Yaknowwhat  The Frattin trade is one of the main reasons why I have lost confidence in Nonis. This is no slight on Frattin. Nonis has repeatedly made reference that he would like this team to get back to the way they played in the shortened season..... the idea that he believes that team was good or thats the bar we should set.... scarey
