@loomx Not after a win, man!!!
@theacs1966 careful, some people don't like criticism of Randy and who he uses on the 4th line
@Dangle_My_Berries @Reversethecurse13 @dlb eh Kostka

@dlb eh From the AHL to playing the top pair with Phaneuf? Carlyle would never do that...............
@Uncle Otis @wendelsway1 Just being a dick, but: the "shot discrepancy" formula is really the puck possession formula, and the Leafs are more the "exception to the rule." And Carlyle himself and the team admits it needs to play much better, which involves more puck possesion.

@Yaknowwhat @Uncle Otis the injuries are absolutely the root cause, but it did magnify the weakness of our 4th line, which was needed a bit more with loss of key offensive players. I think that the coaching decision to dress FML - Smithson - Orr may have cost us a couple points or so.I do think its fair to criticize the amount of playing time Raymond gets, especially in comparison to Kulemin's recent drop in ice-time this season. I think Kulemin should be playing more or equal to Raymond.Those are really the only gripes, other than the short and long-term questions of dressing Fraser and/or Ranger over Rielly, Liles, etc.
It's too bad that it would be viewed as a demotion, but i think moving Bozak to the "3rd" line to replace what Bolland does for us (faceoffs, comes with offense and good 2 way play) should have and still should be considered. This allows McClement to play where he is best suited (on the 4th line) and would mean that Holland and Kadri centre the two offensive lines.
Even if Leivo isn't recalled to replace Lupul like he should, this still frees up Clarkson, Raymond, Kulemin, and Lupul's replacement as wingers for Kadri and Bozak (Holland plays with JVR and Phil). Since Bozak's line would be playing against the other team's best, i think Carlyle would run Raymond - Bozak - Clarkson, which allows for Kadri and (and the underplayed) Kulemin to play with Ashton. We won games last year with FML and Orr playing with McClement, so that goes as long as Carlyle's rope for FML is.
JVR - Holland - Kessel
Raymond - Bozak - Clarkson
Ashton - Kadri - Kulemin
FML - McClement - Orr

@Pent_House Holland won't miss a beat
So pretty much this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDAmPIq29ro
@Burtonboy @Reversethecurse13 Okay okay, i'll drink the kool-aid already!!
@Burtonboy Just to play devil's advocate here: The Sens were missing Spezza and Karlsson and made the playoffs.Some might say that even with Bozak, Kadri, Lupul and Franson in the lineup the team has played poorly...
@Wilbur @Reversethecurse13 Yes, this is good perspective.My third paragraph simply means that injuries are a part of the game, and if one injury (to Bolland) throws the off the whole schtick of the team (i'm not just referring to tonight), that is problematic...
@Kessel81 Really like the play of Holland. Too bad he's either in the pressbox or playing 2 more minutes than Smithson and 6 minutes less than Trevor Smith.Holland must have been caught drinking vodka with Kulemin (who also has had a reduction in playing time).Considering how bad teams beat better teams, i think there's something utterly disturbing about going into a game thinking the team is expected to lose. Case in point, from the Game in 10: 10. Let’s not kid ourselves; almost everybody predicted a Sharks victory tonight.
@Wilbur @Reversethecurse13 would it be logical to say that 3 forwards and 2 defensemen who play barely over 10 minutes are the reason for why the team looks bad?Yea, the 4th line looks like a black hole, but if you revisit boxscores from last year, many victories late in the season featured a fourth line of FML - McClement - Orr.....The trickle down effect of one injury to a centre means Smithson in for McClement, and the whole team falls apart?
So is there a consensus on what the problem is, or is it a combination of:-injuries to Centres-not enough from bottom two pairs on D-the major roster-turnover from the playoffs
@wiski @Reversethecurse13 MacA said before the playoffs even started he knew he was not coming back..........
