@mb6783 @John at MrSEC Because UGA's policy is athletic department wide and not limited to just football. If he was a basketball player, he'd miss 3 games.
I keep telling people this.
You are literally dumber for the experience of having spent 5 minutes listening to him on the radio.
AJC reported this morning that Kwanzaa Johnson has taken the TCU position.
@Panicfan @ecdawg I figured they had retired. But you can't tell me that they might just be intrigued to play a one time show at Sanford.
Personal note- My college roommate's sister was their secretary while I was in Athens in the early 90s. She got married and the group attended the wedding with Michael Stipe singing during the ceremony. I got to know them pretty well during that time and they were/are some of the nicest "superstars" I've ever been around.
I can certainly think of a more appropriate act than Widespread Panic for the next event.
Ever heard of a band called REM? Although I think they don't really tour or play many concerts anymore.

Great pick.
I love Yoakam's music, but he has zero stage presence. I saw him perform in Atlanta at a major country bar/dance hall and he mailed it in. He looked like he wanted to be ANYWHERE but on that stage. Music was great, but he didn't interact with the fans at all.
Gonna be a frustrating day in Athens.
First Foster, then Tunsil, and later will be Kamara and Adams.
Absolutely embarrassing that UGA will sign only one of the top ten prospects in their own state, a state that is generally regarded as having the 4th best HS football in the country.
I could see this game being moved forward to Thursday or Friday before being moved back to Monday.
In fact, let's move it to Thursday and play it opposite the USCe-UNC game. That gives both teams the same amount of rest before the conference opener the next week.
I actually like the idea of getting rid of the SECCG. Go to no divisons, 9 conference games, and declare co-champs that never played in the regular season.
If that were the case this year and the playoff was in effect, your four participants would have been Notre Dame, Bama, UGA and UF. I think the rest of the country would have been apoplectic and I'd be okay with that.
Sheldon Dawson was the UGA player that stuck his fingers inside an Alabama player's helmet. I would be ok if he got suspended for it; there's no room on a football field for that kind of stuff.
As far as the Dial/Murray play is concerned, what nobody has said so far is that exact situation was a point of emphasis for SEC officials this season. Rightly or wrongly, they were told to protect QBs after turnovers from being "targeted" (the conference's word, not mine) by defensive players. Tom Ritter needs to be suspended for missing that call.
Watching the game live, I felt the same way- spike the football. After listening to Richt's explanation in the post-game press conference, I can respect his thought process. He knew Bama's D was gassed and he had a matchup advantage he liked. I don't have as big a problem as I did with it before I heard his explanation.
If CJ Mosely doesn't make a great athletic play, we may not be having this discussion. Mitchell had a step on the Bama DB going to the back corner for the fade pass.
I'm a uni geek myself. I highly recommend Paul's daily site www.uni-watch.com. I read it every day.
My biggest problem with the whole Cam Newton saga is the fact that Mike Slive and the compliance office in Birmingham refused to enforce the existing conference rule and declare Cam ineligible at every SEC school.
They really dropped the ball here and deserve to be terminated forthwith.

The difference in the Galen Hall and Mark Richt situations is that the UGA administration knew about Richt and the UF administration didn't know about Hall.
