@Hibbits He went off his slump against the Habs on Saturday, in case you missed it.

@Craig Ross You know I see words in your post, but all I can read from it is: blah blah blah obvious troll blah blah blah obvious troll blah blah.
Sounds about right coming from you.
@brendannn @PenGeno "He will win our team the cup this year" No he won't.

@seanjd69 That made zero sense whatsoever

@PenGeno Easy for you to say, your not the one that has to plan an arena out and build it. You can't just say "just plunk a arena right here" there has to be planning and logistics to be concerned about. They was never going to be able to build an arena in the north side.
3 weeks, 4 days ago on Conversation @ http://thepensblog.com/2015-archives/the-penguins-are-being-sued-over-the-civic-arena-site.html
@Redacted_66 Shame on them for what? The arena needed to go and there wasn't any noteworthy reasonable proposals to keep it open, make it into something useful and pay for its upkeep.
Uh no, attendance will drops if the team becomes real lousy, not because of the neighborhoods. The Pens have played in that area since their existance and the hill has been lousy for that time and that didn't stop people from going to the games.
Unless they were losing and that was a good reason not to go.
@slimjim34 @Bradley James McEachern @TPBderek Yeah, it's sad but they do. You have no idea how many Pirate fans on their fan sites wanted the Pens to lose in the playoffs back in 2012 just because they couldn't watch Pirate games while the Pens were in the playoffs (the 1st round is broadcasted locally) and because of the myth no one cared about this team circa 2005.
Petty to say the least.
@mjb32982 @TPBderek Yeah aint that the truth. One thing I learned from this city is it's diehard from the three pro teams don't like it when someone is stealing their success. It's pathetic if you ask me.

I'll watch the Steelers with the Pens game on the radio. Easy call to make since Mike Lange is a fucking legend while Bill Hillgrove to too old and senile to know what the hell is going on anymore.

@Hibbits That shit goes right out the window when your team makes a move to trade for a top six winger....something this team desperately needs.
"I would of liked to keep Klinkhammer" - Said no one

I checked Ticketmaster for the amount of seats that aren't resaleand counted less then 70 seats remaining for the game. I'm pretty sure that even with the Steelers playing that they can get less then 70 people to buy a seat.
Sum it up: This is a non story, move on, all of you crying and moaning about Pens fans need to move on and all of you didn't know who Morehouse was until six months ago so move on that from that as well.
There's a game to play less then 40 minutes away. Talk about that then about something that will be meaningless come Saturday.

@SutterBuckFutter Nah. He would bring in Palffy AND Andy Hilbert.
1 month ago on Conversation @ http://thepensblog.com/
@Quote_The_Birdman It was. Injuries don't change things how he already made the roster play in crunch time.
@Hibbits Right because the Pens have totally sucks for the 40+ years of playing in the Hill. Except for Three Cups, four appearances, eight division titles, a slew of playoff appearences in the last 20 years.
No there's no curse, your just pissed your already crumbling neighborhood was getting torn down in the name of progress. Get over it and comparing what an arena site would look like in a team's down period to a fucking riot is over the top and very over the line.
Bottom line: Stop talking man.
@LoranMannIsTheMan "I've seen pretty large sections of seats empty for the entire game on TV"
Yeah and i've seen 20,000 no shows at Steeler games just because they had the gall to go 8-8 FOR A SECOND TIME IN A ROW, THE HUMANITY!!! and 5,000 no shows at Heinz Field just two weeks ago when the Steelers beat the Chiefs. It can go both ways.
No the Pens have fans that are no different then Stiller and Pirates fans. There bandwagoners. They get on it because there winning and even when there's the slightest hint of losing. Poof, there gone and onto something else. That's why you man a ton of empty seats at Mellon and PNC when the Pens stunk for six years and the Pirates for the good part of two decades.
Trendy has nothing to do with any of this as all the fans of the three pro teams are cut from the same ilk: There bandwagoners to highest fashion. The same people wearing Sidney Crosby and Andrew McCutchen jersey are the same ones that used to give people hell for even saying they were a fan of the Pens and Pirates respectively.
Thank God your rant is over because it made no sense whatsoever.
@Beaube Nett No they wont.
You assume EVERYONE in this town is a Stiller fan. There will be enough to make a sellout.
I love how the staff has this huge obsession with Morehouse and it's for no apparent reason. He's been with the FO for close to 10 years and you didn't even know he existed until six months ago. Let it die and move on already.
@firefox91 @BigTeddyTheBoss He's right. Making a big deal of a sellout streak.
WHO CARES!!! Let it die, it's not like it's on the hearts and minds of Pens fans everywhere.
@Bing_87 Yeah it does actually. Don't be stupid.
@brendannn He was wrong as they were bitching for a reason. When you win 50+ games in the RS but flame out in the playoffs the last five years in ways we never thought was possible, there's legitimacy for the complaining.
1 month ago on Conversation @ http://thepensblog.com/2014-archives/brooks-orpik-with-some-weird-quotes-about-last-season.html
@Daniel09752 @ChipRamsey1 Yeah and that was in 2006 and they didn't win the SB. As a coach, you can't rest on your laurels because of one year where you don't win since sports is the ultimate results business.

Know this — the Panthers seem like they are on the cusp of being a really good team.
No there not. They have a couple nice pieces but there a team filled with washed up vets and a couple of nice players, but there not near being a playoff team.
Columbus is a really good team. Florida doesn't even come close to that.
1 month, 1 week ago on Conversation @ http://thepensblog.com/2014-archives/recap-game32.html
@Craig Ross Because no athlete completes on a flawless level night in and night out. You try playing 82 games where your smart, make the right pass and the right shot every...single...time. It's not easy. There will be games where players will make mental errors, take a play off etc. It's easy for us to bitch about it as were not the one out there.
Oh and money has absolutely nothing to do with this.
@Judge_Smails_xx Yeah I remember my first beer as well.

@Lindas1st And yet they still blown out and shut out the Habs so spare me with that.

@firefox91 "But it's okay to trash Bylsma on a regular basis who had more influence in the Pens winning their 09"
MT had more of a influence on winning the SC then Byslma did. His greatest strength was he wasn't MT and the year after then won the cup it was then that DB installed the "system" we saw for the next 5 years. That was when DB truly implemented himself into the team.
How did that system work in the playoffs? Oh yeah pretty fucking badly is how that worked out. Fucked up badly in the playoffs to the point of utter embarassment.
2 months, 1 week ago on Conversation @ http://thepensblog.com/2014-archives/most-embarrassing-thing-on-the-internet-today-bleacher-report-loves-dan-bylsma.html
@Quote_The_Birdman Yeah I totally forgot. Because you won ONE cup means you buy sainthood forever within the fan base. You get over yourself. Just because you won a title doesn't immune you from criticism and in the last 5 years there can be a TON of criticism leveled towards DB because of how he approached the opposition, his game strategies, his stubbornness to change, his handling of players to his failure to believe in matchups.
Unless your the Steelers, a title doesn't immune ANY coach from criticism. Randy Carlyle one a cup with the Ducks but that didn't stop the Ducks from shitcanning him when the results went south and it was clear a change needed to be made.
@Animals @TheMoleman " The reg season is pretty meaningless and the coaches don't play the games."
That is such a fallacy and you know it. In order to even get into the playoffs you have to succeed in the regular season and obviously in order to do that you have to play the games and take them seriously. Yeah they may be meaningless to YOU, but in the grand scheme of things you need to succeed them in order to get into the playoffs and play for the best seed that can put you in the right position you want to be in for the playoffs.
Yeah it's meaningless to someone like you because you like everyone else beyond belief in this fanbase is incredibly spoiled.
@TheMoleman "Sure it's early" Yeah your right it's early and good team lose to other good teams all the time in November. Shit happens. Plus there is a HUGE difference if you look at the system Johnston has put in, it's built to win in the playoffs because there's toughness, shots, puck possession and i'm not the only person saying this.
And it was Rick Trash in the end that was denied by MAF. Fitting Ranger to put this game to bed.

"We know we talk about Dan Bylsma alot. We’re still not over how he ruined the last five years."
Neither are many others. Sure we can certainly put blame on the players for underachieving, but Christ that man made coaching blunder after coaching blunder from scheme and to how he approached to playing the opposition (i.e fuck matchups) that he really did have a hand in the Pens playoff failures.

"but he mangled a potential dynasty. Like it or not, that is what happened"
Yup that's exactly what happened. Making the playoffs and winning your division is great, but when you constantly lose to lower seeds, blow series leads constantly and lose in horrible and embarassing way like howthe team lost to Philly and Boston, that falls on the coach because you can't properly reign in your players when there playing poorly or constantly making mistakes and when he FO realizes nothing is going to change with this guy at the helm, he's got to go. If anything they held on to him too long.
They brought in Tocchet for one reason: To be a bad cop on the coaching staff and to provide accountability towards the players when they screw up. Something that was sorely lacking from the previous regime.
@Zhan No he won't and you know that.
4 months ago on Conversation @ http://thepensblog.com/2014-archives/recap-preseason-game-5-vs-red-wings.html
@seannnn5308 Actually in the 2nd SB he played out of his mind, espically at the end when on that drive where he threw that game winning TD to Santonio to win the SB. Not to mention no Ben=NO SB. Simple as that and it doesn't matter what type of defense you have.
But hey, keep spewing stuff that was discredit eons ago.

Which one? The blue one from the inaugural season or the black and gold one from the 90s? Because both were fantastic.

Thank Christ, they got this one right.

@jammonstrald @Bradley James McEachern @ProfConfusion That was a great 3rd jersey. It was simple and the blue was the right color. The one they have just screamed, mostly because it was too busy on account of all the stripes.
@Billyho I'm shocked they haven't done it already. I look forward to it if they rip it to pieces like they did when they took that shit Adam Proteau wrote about the Pens being hypocrites. That was probably one of the best post the staff has ever written. They left no stone unturned on that one that's for sure.
4 months, 2 weeks ago on Conversation @ http://thepensblog.com/2014-archives/20-storylines-to-follow-as-penguins-training-camp-opens.html
@ProfConfusion Better that then the shitty blue jerseys with all the stripes they trotted out for the last 3 or so seasons.
4 months, 2 weeks ago on Conversation @ http://thepensblog.com/2014-archives/look-for-the-penguins-new-third-jersey-on-friday.html
@thesteelersnat @TPBderek He'll always be butthurt unless the Pens hire back his buddies Dan and Ray.
Then again he was shit before that as well.
@Hibbits Actually his new wingers are going to be good. As for Neal, he'll get over with it. The guy simply wasn't getting it done in the postseason. In fact since he was traded here he has never gotten it done in the postseason and when your a team that has underachieved the last 5 years something has to change in terms of personnel. Getting rid of Neal was a easy call to make.

5 months, 3 weeks ago on Conversation @ http://thepensblog.com/
@dannyjimmy @Beaube Nett Actually the odds are that you have no idea what the heck your talking about. MAF is in fact a elite goalie while Griess is nothing more than a backup while Vokoun is done for his career.
@Zhan Actually he's a very good 3rd line center and unlike many on this club we follow, he actually showed up in the playoffs. That's important whatever or not he's a "average" or "impact" player.
@The Arrogant Bastard @dannyjimmy @Hibbits Why the hell would JR trade Scuds AND Harrington just so we can free up cap space to sign Dustin fucking Penner.
Your not thinking logically with that type of nonsense.
@Hibbits @dannyjimmy Or maybe he won't trade him because he can't get anyone to dump that albatross of a contract and that's exactly what it is: A albatross.
