As a MU fan I would hate to see Florida pick up Christensen for MU's sake...it would be fun to keep stompin' the gators and Coach C would make that offense sing.

their only loss was in double-overtime to a top 10 South Carolina squad. That leaves Missouri ranked fifth? If the same resume belonged to Michigan, Texas or Southern Cal you can bet those “name” programs wouldn’t be fifth.
According to Jesse Palmer MU can use this SEC Championship Game to "prove" (for the 12th time) that they are "legit." He can't be that dumb, so why is he championing FSU/OSU?

C'mon, this is why SEC is not in control of being in the championship game? Wow, that is a stretch, since these are SEC vs SEC numbers only. How about because there is a smaller gap between the haves and have nots in the SEC as compared to last year? Or simply, Alabama wasn't as strong and as well coached this year and caused them to lose a game while the weak conferences (ACC and B10) have a team that rose above the others to have an unblemished record? Throw in a little SEC fatigue and human voters will cling to any excuse to keep 2 very weak schedules that produced up to now 2 undefeated seasons.
Here's the more alarming concern for SEC, especially if considering a 9 game schedule. With the new playoff selection committee you are seeing a glimpse of the playoffs. Human perception that will award the conference champions of B10, SEC, P12/B12 and then pick between ACC and the rest. Taking on a 9th SEC conference game will just make it easier to keep a 2nd, worthy SEC team out of the playoffs because "conference champions" will ALWAYS trump stronger teams that did not win their conference. The 9th conference game will NOT be helpful to a selection committee, it will just give the SEC more opportunity to take a loss.

Well, if they have any comprehension they will understand, MIZZOU is ready, may the best team win.

After "proving" themselves week in and week out I find it interesting you still get the "...let's see what they do in the championship game to be (triply) sure they are legit." What a joke, all the know-it-alls haven't seen this team in person or talked to the teams they've manhandled. Maybe the fact that most of the teams lose after they played MU might speak to their physicality. Simply put, I think MU would easily beat the buckeyes (as would Auburn) and it wouldn't be difficult. The B10 is a joke of a conference, perhaps tied with the ACC for 4th or 5th best conference. I remember the buckeyes whining about Boise and TCU "stealing" BCS spots because they "didn't play anyone" but now they stand behind the "we're undefeated in our sad conference..." We are going to a playoff that will supposedly require teams to schedule more aggressively. HA! What a joke. The sisters of the poor (B10/ACC/P12/B12/AAC) will annoint 4 "conference winners" period. Rather than build a schedule, this will set a land rush to look like the buckeyes schedule...oh and John, B10 wanted to go to 9 games because it helps their 1-2 decent squads look stronger gaining wins vs "BCS" quality competition. Until they go to 8 teams I think SEC fans will be sorely disappointed with our new playoff system...welcome to hell.
1 week ago on A Letdown In The SEC Championship Game? It’s Possible, Auburn
Wow, what a ridiculous ending. Maybe the stars are aligning to put SC where they can't get themselves. Guess we'll see what Ol' Miss can conjure up next week. Congrats Auburn, at least the Iron Bowl will have all you want in it if you can wrest it from Sabam's cold, clammy hands!

Georgia’s number has been impacted by the loss of so many offensive playmakers over the course of the season.
Oh for crying out loud, you don't think losing your senior QB playing at the best clip of his career and your Senior Def Captain CB 2nd Team All SEC( why 2nd?)had an effect on MU's numbers? Is this the complete wussification of the SEC? In one year it goes from "...you have to have quality depth to play and win in the SEC..." to every time someone misses a game nothing can be written without an injury or graduation qualifier? UGA off line and QB were just fine, they just get beat.

It is the pros, especially Houston that Aggie fabs should fear most. Also, as mentioned below, great time to walk necause how tarnished is his resume if A&M goes back to 2nd division w/o Manziel? Have his recruiting been that good? Especially on defense?? Besides, monster payday in pros, if it doesn't work he can always come back to pro game, but not vice-versa...
4 weeks ago on With Rumors About Southern Cal Swirling, A&M’s Sumlin Isn’t Talking
Yeah, MIZZOU's off/def vs A&M's at home on Senior Day couldn't possibly muster the punch that Auburn did, right?

Just wait until the negative recruiting starts on the MU fans caught on the mic booing the OT missed FG...it will be massive! I think it has already made a difference for Bauer!

So MU could not possibly beat Ol Miss and A&M? Really?? I guess because they were "lucky" to beat UGA, right? But UGA got Gurley and a WR back and those freshmen have 9-10 games under their belt on D and Richt is a mastermind, so no way Auburn can be beaten, right?
1 month ago on Plenty Of Possibilities As Both SEC Division Races Heat Up
OK, so since they were a draft laden team the year before they should be congratulated for doing "so well" this year? Nice support if you can get it! Also, all world Murray and his complete O-Line is not injured, just the so-called "skill players" but isn't this juggernaut have 4-5 stars stacked up like cordwood? I'm truly puzzled why everyone is so quick to excuse UGA and UF, but hey, that's the new SEC??? I'd say their fans see it more clearly than the "old guard" press that just doesn't like change.

Looks like Coach Jones is building it back. Impressed with what they have done and really respect the "no whining" about injuries. It is about depth in this conference and this woulda, coulda, shoulda, if only no injuries really looks bad on the teams and conference. I'm most surprised the fans have accepted that BS, guess they are afraid of their teams ability to build it back...

$20,000, is that after what they had to pay to JFF's agent...errr friend?
A&M will have a new coach to go along with that new QB next year. Sumlin will not miss cashing in (Texans?) on this ride. He can always come back to college, but if A&M's program recedes (and lets face it, we already see plenty of cracks despite the highly ranked recruiting classes) he will miss his opportunity to cash in and set his family up for life.
1 month ago on A&M Downplays The Value Of Manziel’s Heisman, But The School Sure Has A Lot Of Heisman Gear For Sale
No doubt a healthy Franklin is our best option, however, I do not see them risking him if Maty has things in control. I could see Franklin getting a series or two if he is indeed "ready" just to get the feel of competition. After the bye against Ol Miss is the most likely start to clinch east if GA does what it needs to to set up 3 way tie potential.
Lastly, finally having A&M at home after having to play there the last 3 years, senior night and this team's sense of purpose and comparative defenses...will be the best game on TV and expect MU to close it out!
1 month ago on Mizzou’s Pinkel On QB Mauk’s Performance: “We Kind Of Scared Him A Little Bit”
Yes, a misleading title. What you wrote is 100% accurate.
John, it's been well documented here by you and others that you have a high opinion of your opinion. Say it enough times and perhaps a weak minded recruit will let it turn his head. Only time will tell. Regardless, HCGP will find another recruit to make a pro if it happens. The VAST majority of fans, although disappointed, did not boo. Perhaps those mics were by the student section, us older folks sit in the west and I didn't honestly hear a boo, but I'm sure some did...it was on the mic, right?
Unfortunately, I had a similar experience as Scheizman. Never heard one taunt at the couple of SC fans in our section. Indeed, they seem to be having a good time, all things considered. However, once SC tied it they turned into the ugly fans and were lucky that the MU fans around them remained calm. I guess typical SEC fans would hand them their head? I will not say they were dumb, however, the less crazed of the two decided heading to the SC section seemed like a good idea after they made asses of themselves.
I guess that's how "good SEC fans" act, eh John?
Your question about man coverage on 4th and goal in the 1st OT...right on point and despite all he's put together this year, Coach Steckel will carry that one around for a long time. I bet you could play that last 22 minutes 20 more times and SC would lose every time. Connor Shaw's performance was outstanding, but even the ol' Ball Coach knows this one was ordained by a higher power.
1 month, 1 week ago on SEC East Race A Muddled Mess After Carolina Nips Mizzou; Tiger Fans Make Fools Of Themselves
Interesting look at it. MU beat the toughest team at their place, demolished the "best" defense (who held LSU offense down) and other than playing Arkie tough (who doesn't?) SC was not playing well the previous 2 weeks vs UCF and UK. SC will need to play well to beat MU at Faurot Field. Never the less, going undefeated in SEC is simply ridiculously difficult. However, if they are 11-0 they have a Senior Day beating waiting for A&M after 3 years in a row (2-1) at A&M.

Mike, This year? Without a doubt OSU/OU.UT and probably Baylor, too. They played a weaker KSU and were held down.
