@Fisha Status @Westbrookinit3 Ha ha - they can either use the draft picks signing players or they can trade them to another team for cash/players/higher draft pick/draft picks another year.

They can't just not use them

@Perk has a lot of value to our team @Dominator Agreed. He may have some value on teams in serious need of interior defense. Not sure if that includes the Cavs, but perhaps there is an opportunity to involve a 3rd or 4th team.

@The Anti Perk @Dominator I think the Cavs would be more willing than you think to make a trade.

With or without him they're not going to making much noise in the East for a year or two. I think they'd rather start blooding their long time answer at C (Noel).

Highly unlikely they'd be willing to take Perk in the deal, but I would guess some trade picks and 1-2 upcoming guys would be enough.

Do you think there's any chance of Celeveland being willing to trade Anderson Varejao?

They currently have a young talented center on their roster in Tyler Zeller and will surely take Noel in the draft. Do they really need 3 quality Cs? (They also have T Thompson and Marresse Spreights).

What would be needed to make a trade? I'm presuming they'd be very open to the idea considering their roster and  as he's coming off a big injury.

How would the thunder be able to acquire him? Would it be a big upgrade at 5?

@Hasheem Thabinks  @Perk-Punt Presuming they don't resign K-Mart. Reggie should play as a combo guard/6th man (as Harden did). Therefore we'll need a back up PG to play 10-12 mins a night when Westrbrook sits.

@Hasheem Thabinks  @Dominator You think Brooks will giver Orton minutes? If Perk stays he will continue to get 20+ mins a night.

@DXL Who would you like to see starting at C? Or perhaps we could start Ibaka at C, start Durant at PF and find someone to start at SF

@Hasheem Thabinks  @Dominator For someoone to take Perk off our hands, we would need to offer a good young player too. If someone would trade for him without them thrown in - i'm all for it.

@Hasheem Thabinks  @Dominator Well - assuming perk is traded, Hickson would come in as starting center - playing 20-25 mins a night. Collison would keep his role and Thabeet would continue to have a limited role.

The backup pg would play behind westbrook (10-12 mins a night). I'm hoping reggie is used as a combo guard 6th man, much in the same way harden was.

@Legendary_Dork @Dominator ? Didn't we trade his ass?

@OohWeeItsVelvetHoop @Dominator I say keep him around for sure then. He gives good depth and options. Especially if Sefolosha was to go down

@Hasheem Thabinks  @Dominator I don't think $5m is overpaying for Hickson at all. He will probably command more like $6-8m

@Hasheem Thabinks  @Dominator JJ Hickson would be a huge upgrade on this team. He has a post up game that we currently don't have. He is a little undersized, but has great length and strength and is one of the best in the league at getting offensive boards and putback dunks. He would allow Ibaka to stretch the defense a little more by being a viable option on the inside if left open or cleaning up misses.

@f5alcon @Dominator I was kind of assuming we would either package draft picks to move up, or trade them....

My offseason moves (let me know your thoughts)

Out - K mart ($12.5 million); Orton ($800k), R Brewer ($1.1m); Fisher ($400k) Total = -$14.8m

Resign - Liggins ($1m)

In: Marco Belinelli ($2m); Matt Barnes ($1m); JJ Hickson ($5m), Draft Pick ($1m) Total = $9m

Trade possibility: Perkins to young offensive heavy, defense weak team that may benefit from Perk either to clog up the paint or act as a mentor to young guys (Charlotte, or Hornets, or Toronto come to mind).
I'd throw in a draft pick or two and one of lamb or PJ3. In exchange I'd like to get back a decent back up PG that will allow   Reggie to move to a true 6th man combo guard position. (Perhaps a Sessions from Charlotte, or a Brian Roberts from NO). Obviously we would have to take some bad contract too, but don't forget we have a trade exception to play with also

Thoughts?

There are a few teams that would probably have a need for a player like Perkins.. I don't think trading him is completely unrealistic. I do think we are unlikely to get much back for him and will maybe have to take on a bad (hopefully expring) contract in return.

But a young bad team with offense, potential and bad defense would be a candidate. Perk playing for Charlotte say could make them a little tougher and less likely to give up so many points. Same is true with Cleveland (especially if Varajajo doesn't come back). I could also see him having value at Atlanta (if j Smith goes and horford slides to PF), possibly even go to a rebuilding team like Orlando to give them a toughness and help mentor the younger guys.

And in return... i don't even want a center... maybe a good 3 point shooter (dream scenario would be K Korver) and don't forget we have that trade exception so the salaries don't have to match up exactly.

I would not re-sign K-mart... I would let Reggie become the 6th man off the bench (in a similar role to harden 2 years ago - a play making sg who drives to the basket). I would let Lamb and Korver share the K-mart role and then try and get a serviceable center from the free agency. Perfect fit would be J oneal or JJ Hickson. Neither would play much over 25 mins and we could play small a lot more with KD at the 4.

Berry Tremel's comments about available centers is pretty dumb!!

My top choices for centers (that we could actually get) would be (in no particular order):
JJ Hickson; Jermaine Oneal, D Blair, E Okufar, s Dalembert
