The only really bad Sonic title I can think of is Sonic 3D. It was a top down view and was just awkward to play. I've played Sonic 1, 2, and 3, as well as Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic Spinball. The crazy thing about Sonic & Knuckles was that you could take the first three games for Sonic The Hedgehog and and put them on the top of the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge to allow Knuckles, and I think other characters, to play in the original three games. I'm not sure if you could play Spinball or 3D on it or not. Never gave it a try, but now I am curious. Great review James. It's funny. Me and my sister, who is your age, used to play Sonic 2 together as well and she'd always play Tails as well. I'm betting your sister is probably about my age, 29.

I'll probably be labeled a "Sega Fan Boy" or be kicked in the teeth for not being a "Nintendo Fan Boy", but honestly I don't care. I love Sega. I did back when me and my family first got a Sega Master System in 1988, then a Sega Genesis in 1991. I loved the bright and colorful graphics, which was in pretty much every single video game ever made for their systems. I loved the bright and powerful music, much clearer sounding to me than what the NES had to offer. The different assortment of games I always felt were better too. Sega was just the greatest thing ever to me then, and even to this day. It's a shame Sega no long makes a video game system. I'd love to see Sega and Nintendo still battling it out to this day. Now with that being said, I love Nintendo as well. They had a lot of great games, and I actually own the NES and SNES along with my Master System and Genesis. All four get played quite a bit at my house. Like you, James, I had a friend who had the opposite system over at their house. I'd go over to their place and play on their NES and later SNES systems just as they'd come over and play Sega systems at mine. Now the funny thing is this. He wanted to always come and play my Sega. Of course I'm not going to argue and ruin a relationship with a good friend, so I just did whatever he wanted since I loved my Sega systems anyhow. I also loved the advertising battles of the late 80s and early 90s between Sega and Nintendo. Some were just down right brutal to each other. They were both the epitome of what a great gaming system and good marketing can do. I sadly don't see that happening anymore. Maybe because there are too many systems in the big market that decided to just be friendly and let every company release their game on all the systems. Just seems too complacent to me. Our generation sure had a great childhood, right James? : )
It's not a Spike thing, Mike, it's YouTube. Sometimes certain things get banned from being shown in certain countries because YouTube has catered to Hollywood Production companies so that some videos will not get aired in certain countries.

You know Mike, you should do some like alternate universe AVGN stuff. Make some videos where you're the AVGN in your own world. You're just like the one here but you're even "Nerdier" and you wear a black shirt instead of white. I think a few episodes like those while the movie is being made would be great. You could call them the "Alternate AVGN" or the "New AVGN" and review a lot of video games that James hasn't covered. Maybe do an angry rant towards Sega, even though you still love Sega you hate some of the horrible games just as James hates the more horrible NES games he still loves the NES. Just an idea I thought I'd throw out there. When the AVGN movie is done and James returns to do his normal episode run you two could meet and have a battle over who is the better nerd and which system was truly the better one. NES or Sega! : )

I don't mean to sound like one of your pushy pretentious fans, but has James even begun filming any seems yet for the AVGN Movie? Also, has the remake of Plan 9 From Outer Space been released yet? I haven't seen any new info on that project yet.

Never have I seen the atrocities that is Michael Bay's Transformers. They looked horrible in the trailers and from what I've heard my suspicions came true. Now this hack of a director is going to be involved in a new TMNT film? I will most definitely pass.
2 years, 8 months ago on Michael Bay's TMNT from Outer Space?
So the first question is, who are all the big actors who've come by? Yes, we want names! : ) Second, how does the wife feel about James acting with hot Maxim Models? I'm sure she isn't too happy seeing hot models swoon all over "The Nerd". lol!

Good review, Mike. There are comments I feel need to be made, so here it goes. First, I still remember "The Waltons." The show is actually still being aired to this day on various stations. Second, that ship looks more like an upside down diagram of a woman's vagina than her entire form. And third, how could you not mention George Peppered, Cowboy, being famous for being Col. John "Hannibal" Smith? Did you simply just forget? Other than those three things I rather enjoyed your review. Keep knocking them out, Mike! : )

I don't mean to sound like a chronologically confused episode, but what happened to Episode #2? And if the last one I saw was Episode #2 then where was #1? Someone help me out here with some links. I've obviously missed one or two here.
@lkjlksdjfWhy are you up James' ass about what he posts? If James wanted to post a little 3 minute video every day that's his business to do so, so doing these every once in a while is fine as well. In other words there is no need for you to be cracking the whip, telling him to get back to work. Just let James do his thing. He knows what he's doing.

Mike, you cannot compare Dirty Harry & Death Wish. They're two totally different films and both are exceptionally good.

If you guys do these when James returns to Philly I'd like to see a battle between Big Bird & Barney and Joker Vs. Beetlejuice. : )

No need to apologize, James. You're running a business. You're not doing anything wrong by selling us something we would want. Now what you need to do is make some action figures. : )
$252,713. Just checked it. I wish I could donate some cash but I'm destitute, but come time when I get money back from my pell grants to go to college I will buy your 5 AVGN DVDs and a t-shirt. And James, if I was you I'd stay indie. I would do all I could to make the best movies you can through donations. Maybe together we will all change the film industry just as Easy Rider did in 1969. : )

It's so funny that I am watching this and hearing the battle music, while at the same on WGN they're showing the Futurama episode right now where Dr. Zoidberg goes back to his home planet to mate, lol! Great video, guys. : )
That was hilarious. Much better than the last episode of Board James. Who comes up with this shit, though? lol!
2 years, 10 months ago on Board James: Doggie Doo
@metalcommand Yeah, I am so trolling because I voiced a negative opinion because I don't care for the way James is doing something. But you on the other hand are going around telling people where to get off just because they disagree with James' request. In case you haven't noticed, James has a ton of Atari games, so he obviously doesn't need any. If you want to give away your shit and regret it later, that's on you, but not for me.
2 years, 10 months ago on AVGN: The Movie - Atari cartridges needed!!
@metalcommand Fuck you, ass hole. Why not go troll someone else. James got what he needed. Now he needs to just do his job and get the film done instead of praying on the week to give him everything for free.
And now I see James has changed the address from Kevin's in L.A. to his P.O. Box in PA. Hey James, stop being a cheap bastard and buy the damn things on Amazon. We gave you enough money, so go get the damn things and stop expecting us to give our things away to you never to see them again. You keep doing this kind of thing and you will alienate your hardcore fans who've been following you since the beginning.
What happened to all your Atari Cartridges from home?
@Dirk McGee I agree, but then why didn't James correct him or his wife all those years ago? I'm just pointing out inconsistencies is all.
2 years, 10 months ago on Mrs Nerd answers
@fratzenjeballer You obviously don't know me. I rarely complain. I found inconsistencies, so I pointed them out. Don't like it? Well then you know how to ignore me, don't you?
@MrBrrumpkins Forgot the "be" part. And I care, so there you go.
@tysonatthemovies How am I being a hateful troll for pointing out obvious flaws and inconsistencies in what people say?
@JamesAVGN Okay, then why didn't you correct him if that's true? You didn't say anything, you both just lead us to believe that what Mike said was true. Not to mention the arm attached to that hand is pretty big for a female's arm. I'm not trying to be a dick, although that may seem to be the case, I'm just finding conflicting stories is all.
@MrBrrumpkins Yes, I'm the ass because I pointed obvious things out.
"I was directly a part of (that was my hand reaching over the sofa wearing the Freddy Kruger glove)."
I can actually dispute you there, Mrs. Rolfe, since Mike Matei made that claim first in the commentary for the "Friday The 13th" episode back in 2007. I also saw quite a few grammatical and punctuation errors, so I find it funny you saying you sometimes have to correct James when you need quite a few corrections yourself. I'm sure people here are going to start throwing things at me for pointing those things out, but hey, I have a right to objective and point things out when I think something isn't right too. The link below is to prove the dispute over your claim that it's your hand.
Don't blame you or anyone for boycotting E3, James. I know you don't like getting involved in politics, but when it's something that will affect your livelihood then you have to step in an assist in destroying whatever may cost you money out of your own pocket. Let's keep pushing for a better tomorrow. Never give up on your personal liberties, James. : )

@Javeliin I actually think that video is up on here somewhere. This is still the same IP address, just remodeled face is all. Yeah, I knew he was married years ago. He's stated it several times in comments to people bitching about his work. Why is there a mystery about him being married? I have no clue.
@Luenchhausen Yes, thought about it, and yet nothing has been posted as such. Also, why not say that at the end instead of leading people on to believe that she would reply to everyone, or as many as possible.
@gamez I was just pointing out the obvious. And yeah, I saw that. That can be ignored. Some people just want to be dicks because they think it makes them stronger doing so.
You know, I find it very odd that you [Mrs. Rolfe] would post this on James' website and state that you want to do a Q&A and yet you haven't answered any of the questions proposed to you below. I think it's rather unfair of you to ask us to ask questions but to not reply to anyone's questions, which would fulfill your obligation in the answering portion of this so-called Q&A. It just seems kind of rude and disrespectful to me to not reply. I hope that today you will answer the questions proposed by the fans below because otherwise what was the point of saying you wanted to start a Q&A if you had no intentions of responding to begin with? And no, I don't have any questions, but I do feel the others here have a right to have their questions answered since you proposed the Q&A to us to begin with.
Love the picture at the bottom with James' goofy & shocked smile like some teen from a goofy comedy movie from the 1980s when the geek got lucky with the hottest chick in the entire movie, lol!
@JamesAVGN I felt the same way. That episode almost seemed pointless because you covered all those games already anyways. And in case you missed it, that museum in Seattle is called The Experience Music Project. Happy 2012, James. I hope this is your most successful year yet. : )

Like George Carlin said; "It's all bullshit and it's bad for ya, folks." This government doesn't give a damn about it's people. They just want to control everything and make everyone miserable by restricting their freedoms. Ron Paul is starting to look pretty good right about now.
@toxikhiro I wasn't telling him he had to do it a different way or else. It was constructive criticism. James has a right to do his videos anyway he wants. What's the point of having a message board on your website if you don't want to have mixed views from the fans. Like I said before, in case you missed it, I've loved pretty much everything James has done since I first found him when he did the first AVGN episode all those years ago. This one just seemed rushed, mildly amusing, and too short. Of course that's just my opinion that James can ignore if he feels like. I just gave him my opinion, that's all there is to it. James has been doing these videos for years. He's been dealing with fans for quite some time now. I'm pretty sure he knows what to ignore and what to take into consideration.

@Big McLargehuge I seriously doubt that since the only person I could ever sound like is myself. I'm a horrible actor, so I know that to be true.
@Big McLargehuge It's called critiquing, the whole point of feed back. Of course you obviously missed that, now didn't you?
@FrankCabanski That's true. Not much to say about smashing Play dough. Would have been interesting to know the back story to both those board games though. I have no clue on the poster. I must have missed that.
