The only really bad Sonic title I can think of is Sonic 3D. It was a top down view and was just awkward to play. I've played Sonic 1, 2, and 3, as well as Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic Spinball. The crazy thing about Sonic & Knuckles was that you could take the first three games for Sonic The Hedgehog and and put them on the top of the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge to allow Knuckles, and I think other characters, to play in the original three games. I'm not sure if you could play Spinball or 3D on it or not. Never gave it a try, but now I am curious. Great review James. It's funny. Me and my sister, who is your age, used to play Sonic 2 together as well and she'd always play Tails as well. I'm betting your sister is probably about my age, 29.
I'll probably be labeled a "Sega Fan Boy" or be kicked in the teeth for not being a "Nintendo Fan Boy", but honestly I don't care. I love Sega. I did back when me and my family first got a Sega Master System in 1988, then a Sega Genesis in 1991. I loved the bright and colorful graphics, which was in pretty much every single video game ever made for their systems. I loved the bright and powerful music, much clearer sounding to me than what the NES had to offer. The different assortment of games I always felt were better too. Sega was just the greatest thing ever to me then, and even to this day. It's a shame Sega no long makes a video game system. I'd love to see Sega and Nintendo still battling it out to this day. Now with that being said, I love Nintendo as well. They had a lot of great games, and I actually own the NES and SNES along with my Master System and Genesis. All four get played quite a bit at my house. Like you, James, I had a friend who had the opposite system over at their house. I'd go over to their place and play on their NES and later SNES systems just as they'd come over and play Sega systems at mine. Now the funny thing is this. He wanted to always come and play my Sega. Of course I'm not going to argue and ruin a relationship with a good friend, so I just did whatever he wanted since I loved my Sega systems anyhow. I also loved the advertising battles of the late 80s and early 90s between Sega and Nintendo. Some were just down right brutal to each other. They were both the epitome of what a great gaming system and good marketing can do. I sadly don't see that happening anymore. Maybe because there are too many systems in the big market that decided to just be friendly and let every company release their game on all the systems. Just seems too complacent to me. Our generation sure had a great childhood, right James? : )
It's not a Spike thing, Mike, it's YouTube. Sometimes certain things get banned from being shown in certain countries because YouTube has catered to Hollywood Production companies so that some videos will not get aired in certain countries.
You know Mike, you should do some like alternate universe AVGN stuff. Make some videos where you're the AVGN in your own world. You're just like the one here but you're even "Nerdier" and you wear a black shirt instead of white. I think a few episodes like those while the movie is being made would be great. You could call them the "Alternate AVGN" or the "New AVGN" and review a lot of video games that James hasn't covered. Maybe do an angry rant towards Sega, even though you still love Sega you hate some of the horrible games just as James hates the more horrible NES games he still loves the NES. Just an idea I thought I'd throw out there. When the AVGN movie is done and James returns to do his normal episode run you two could meet and have a battle over who is the better nerd and which system was truly the better one. NES or Sega! : )
I don't mean to sound like one of your pushy pretentious fans, but has James even begun filming any seems yet for the AVGN Movie? Also, has the remake of Plan 9 From Outer Space been released yet? I haven't seen any new info on that project yet.
Never have I seen the atrocities that is Michael Bay's Transformers. They looked horrible in the trailers and from what I've heard my suspicions came true. Now this hack of a director is going to be involved in a new TMNT film? I will most definitely pass.
So the first question is, who are all the big actors who've come by? Yes, we want names! : ) Second, how does the wife feel about James acting with hot Maxim Models? I'm sure she isn't too happy seeing hot models swoon all over "The Nerd". lol!
Good review, Mike. There are comments I feel need to be made, so here it goes. First, I still remember "The Waltons." The show is actually still being aired to this day on various stations. Second, that ship looks more like an upside down diagram of a woman's vagina than her entire form. And third, how could you not mention George Peppered, Cowboy, being famous for being Col. John "Hannibal" Smith? Did you simply just forget? Other than those three things I rather enjoyed your review. Keep knocking them out, Mike! : )
Classic Nerd at its finest. : )
As I said before, come next month, I'll be buying all 5 volumes and probably even a shirt or two. Stay strong, James, and don't give up. : )
Tell the Glitch Gremlin that I'm going to be stabbing him with a butcher knife in my dreams for scaring the shit out of me. Tell Kevin Finn I said hello. : )

I don't mean to sound like a chronologically confused episode, but what happened to Episode #2? And if the last one I saw was Episode #2 then where was #1? Someone help me out here with some links. I've obviously missed one or two here.
lkjlksdjfWhy are you up James' ass about what he posts? If James wanted to post a little 3 minute video every day that's his business to do so, so doing these every once in a while is fine as well. In other words there is no need for you to be cracking the whip, telling him to get back to work. Just let James do his thing. He knows what he's doing.
Mike, you cannot compare Dirty Harry & Death Wish. They're two totally different films and both are exceptionally good.
If you guys do these when James returns to Philly I'd like to see a battle between Big Bird & Barney and Joker Vs. Beetlejuice. : )
Well there you go, James. People want action figures, so hop to it, lol! : )
No need to apologize, James. You're running a business. You're not doing anything wrong by selling us something we would want. Now what you need to do is make some action figures. : )
$252,713. Just checked it. I wish I could donate some cash but I'm destitute, but come time when I get money back from my pell grants to go to college I will buy your 5 AVGN DVDs and a t-shirt. And James, if I was you I'd stay indie. I would do all I could to make the best movies you can through donations. Maybe together we will all change the film industry just as Easy Rider did in 1969. : )
BenjaminOstermeier You can get them on DVD on Amazon or watch them through direct streaming on Netflix.
It's so funny that I am watching this and hearing the battle music, while at the same on WGN they're showing the Futurama episode right now where Dr. Zoidberg goes back to his home planet to mate, lol! Great video, guys. : )
