Over/Under 0.5 NBA-quality plays from Joe Freeland?

If the Thunder don't win the title with Howard instead of Harden (nice - but ultimately off the bench) and Ibaka (nice, but ultimately not a difference-maker) then it's exceedingly unlikely that they DO win it with those two guys.
Mostly, you have to wonder - is it better to be very good for the next 4 years and probably lose to Miami every year, or is it better to take a legit Fifty-Fifty shot at the championship this year and still be a top-3 western team for the next 3 years?
Durant+Westbrook will basically never be as good as LeBron+Wade. Miami will always have the better team. If you stand pat, you are basically assuming that Miami will let a few titles get away despite superior talent and that 1, maybe 2 will fall to OKC.
I'm not a Thunder fan, but you can't build to be passive. Miami has a better team, almost solely due to LeBron, and you cant just hope that he loses. If they add Dwight, OKC is making a claim that they've got the best team and are going to win the championship or bust. Most teams will never be able to say that. I pull the trigger.

I can't see Roy ever making a meaningful comeback. Maybe a Deion Sanders like comeback - a half season, mostly ineffective, with a few hot games in there.

Hard for me to agree that Williams "shined" - it was pure garbage time, and I don't feel like anyone can truly shine in that situation.
The good, is his shoot looked nice. Obviously he can leap and he's not afraid to rebound.
The bad is, he looks a little unsure of himself. Not Babbitt-level incompetent, but he's not Norris Cole out there either. I'll deem this acceptable for the time being.
Additionally, he's extraordinarily weak by NBA standards. He's 6'5" and 180 pounds, that's beanpole skinny (for reference, Brandon Roy in his best season outweighed him by 35 pounds). He got pushed around easily on both sides of the court and all the jumping in the world can't save you when you're pinned behind the backboard.
The problem with this is, he's clearly a guy that will need to use good doses of guile to be successful in the NBA. He'll need to learn how to create space for his shot, and it will be difficult for him to do that in practice. He needs real court time. Unfortunately, he also needs to be able to play even mediocre level defense. He can only defend at the 1/2 positions, and given the Blazers penchant for putting top-quality defenders on the point, that leaves him really only guarding the 2 position, where he'll be succeptable to strong screens and picks to take him off the shooter or generate a switch which puts him on a much stronger offensive player. It's a catch-22 for Williams that can only be solved by beefing up (I'd say, 195 should be his target weight) and that will take an entire year at minimum.

Kobe will definitely BE an all-star.. but where's he really rank among 2 guards this year? @christopher_m @jakesnake99

I feel like every Blazer fan knew the pace would be up this year without Roy and the addition of Wallace and Felton. It wasn't obvious? I'm surprised by how good we've looked and very stoked; but not about our style of play.

sorry, the Westbrook push on Wallace going out-of-bounds

Dude, it's pretty weak to call out the officiating - I thought it was pretty fair. To be honest, if anyone got away with a bunch of fouls, it was Westbrook on the perimeter. Additionally, the Thunder were in the penality at 8:17 in the first quarter and ~6:30 in the 4th quarter, in with the exception of the end-of-game foulfest, did not give up a single Penalty Free Throw. Additionally they were called for no loose-ball fouls (I don't think either team was, actually). The only two 'bad' calls i thought was the Westbrook push on Aldridge going out-of-bounds and the call on Aldridge for tripping over Westbrook after a rebound.
Wither Eli Williams?

uhhhh does PWE have a policy against uh, links to places where one could watch a stream of the game?
@blazeraddict Andre Miller would be the point guard they want to have true Lob City. I expect them to be a .500 team, but importantly, because very few west teams improved themselves.
wellll.... with Roy being GONE GONE maybe Nate has reconsidered everything.
