You know how on some teams, mainly football, where some stars reduce their salary so that the team can pick up free agents so that the team can have a better shot at a championship?  Any chance, in the wild blue, that the team can convince Perkins to do that?  Probably not.  Still seen it happen elsewhere.  And seriously, can he NOT see the writing on the wall?  Sorry probably just talking out of my butt here, but wishes and all that!

Nervous about the draft, but excited too.  I think I'll be disappointed if we trade out of this draft, even as weak as it is because the excitement is who could/would/should they get and why.  I think that I would really like Cody Zeller at 12, I would be fine with Adams at 12, don't want either foreign big and am certainly curious about Karazev with his shooting ability.  Putting Serge at the 5, KD at the 4, Karazev at the 3, Lamb at 2 and Russ at the 1 would be a fun drive and kick, PNR, PNP offense for the Thunder.  Change Zeller for Karazev and leave KD at the 3 would be alright, too.  I love Adam's potential as a true 5, but waiting two or three years would be a killer for me.  No matter what, I have to trust Presti and say GO THUNDER!!

@FallenOSIRIS @coxeysarmy Is there anyone in this draft, that we could draft (no far-fetched trade for #1 scenarios) that would only play in OKC?  Someone who really gets quality minutes from this draft??

If we stand pat with our #12 and draft Steven Adams, does he play in OKC this year?  Or is he shuttling back and forth between OKC with no playing time and Tulsa for seasoning?

@anonymous12345 @Turfright @coxeysarmy @OLADIPO That's certainly the case.  I just think that it's part of his game that he should work to improve on.

@Turfright @coxeysarmy @OLADIPO Point well taken.  However, he doesn't have to just kick to three point shooters, how about a wrap around pass to Ibaka (hopefully doesn't fumble it out of bounds) or making a back door pass to a cutter?  I just think that his court vision can be improved upon.

@Turfright @coxeysarmy True enough, but as someone who got to the basket pretty well against good defenses, seems like he could have found at least a couple more open teammates when the defense collapsed on him.  Hopefully he'll improve in all aspects of his game and make this discussion moot!

@ThunderUp12 @coxeysarmy This makes sense, however, there are several point guards in the league that are poor shooters from the 3 that still have much better assist averages.  I just want that aspect of his game to improve.  Shooting too!

@OLADIPO @coxeysarmy Trim the edges with hard work and preparation and square peg fits round hole.  I don't want him to change who he is, just want him to work on that aspect of his game.

@FallenOSIRIS @coxeysarmy In games started he averaged 3.6 assists, two games with 8 - which was great! But also 4 games with only 2 assists, one game with 3 assists and one with only 1 assist.  I just want him to work on his game.  He stepped up, he played well in a really tough circumstance, but it doesn't mean that I don't want him to improve in an area where point guards are supposed to lead - assists!

@Turfright @coxeysarmy What about when he was starting in the playoffs?  Plenty of scorers there seems to me.  KD handled the ball a lot, I'll give you that, but he's the point guard, seems like 2 assists per game isn't getting it done from that perspective.  I still like the kid, and I hope he improves that perspective of his game, it's just that no one ever talks about his assists and that should be a big part of his game.  For heaven's sake, Maynor averaged 4 assists per game and Reggie gets way more minutes now.

Everybody talks about Reggie as our back up point guard, a combo guard who scores.  I like Reggie, I like him a lot, but my problem with our back up point guard is that he doesn't assist!  Look at his numbers, what did he average in assists??  Maybe 2 per game?  Even in the playoffs when he had to start, he scored pretty well, surprisingly well at times, but didn't assist at all.  Our weakest part of our team is assisting on baskets.  Russ was much better this year, KD's assist numbers were great this year, but who else is passing the rock around to MAKE BASKETS??  Sure Reggie needs to improve his jumper, but I want him to improve his passing the rock!  If he does this, it makes our TEAM better, better because he's going to be our sixth man, who scores and assists!

So excited for some Thunder basketball, really need James to sign and focus on winning a title. Are there any video feeds of the thunder media day? Btw, does anyone else think that Perry Jones III could help out against the heat where Perkins and Ibaka struggled guarding Battier? I don't know if he could or not but that is an interesting thought? Comments?

Totally disagree.  As a Thunder fan and former Sonic fan, I can't stand the heartless way Stern dealt with Seattle (even if Seattle screwed itself as much as anything), how often has Stern talked about being committed to New Orleans or to Sacramento and went to one meeting in Seattle and then left them to hang in the wind.  So, he's not my favorite commissioner.

Hoping Thabeet plays, needs more "Mark Bryant" time than anyone else on the roster.  Still love Ryan Reid's hustle, wish he was a little more like Nick Collison and less like Reggie Evans offensively.  Still looking forward to watching some NBATV!

Wish his percentage between 5-15 feet was better though.  Shows that he needs work in the post game.  Of course, when is he going to get the ball there in the offence?  Even so, hoping he's working on his game here.  Love seeing the jumper in the game after he saved the ball back inside, great play!

Great move by the Thunder. No matter how much we complain about how Russell plays, he's still a top 5 point guard and maybe top 10-12 player in the NBA. To get him locked up with Durant for the next 4 years is a fantastic move! These two players can keep growing together and with Harden locked up soon (hopefully) we've got our three stars and we can continue to fill in around them when people inevitably move on or we cut ties with them. Great job by Sam Presti!

Nice set, now they need a couple of options off of it, too. Perkins pinning his defender high if the defender tries to help on Durant, Russell curling off a double pick by Perkins and Durant for a feed into the post, Ibaka running a back pick for Harden if players get caught in the wash, or Durant popping out to 3 point line if his defender ducks way under the screen. Those are some simple plays off this one play to get Durant the ball at the free throw line. Wow, I should be a coach! LOL

I only watched the second quarter, I guess that was the best quarter to watch. Sounds like the same Thunder as last year, but I guess that kind of makes sense, this is just the first game of the year. I hope they are working on a more cohesive offense, but Knowing coach Brooks, it probably won't happen.

Fun game to watch last night. Looking forward to watching a lot of Thunder games this year. I got to say that even though Dallas played without Dirk or Kidd, and Terry only for a little while, we looked real good in the first half. We only played poorly during that streatch with no one on the floor but Harden. And if our bigs could catch (Mohammed, Aldrich) it wouldn't have been that bad, we got some good pick and roll looks that just bounced off their hands.

I believe that Westbrook will be the catalyst of our team, he's improved each year, his assist numbers have risen, he's crazy athletic and just needs to slow his roll a little sometimes. But, hey, wouldn't you rather have him aggressive than passive? I don't think he's the set up kind of point guard yet, I do think he could pass better out of his drives, but I've got tons of faith in him and his teammates. I just don't know about the lack of a cohesive offense last year. Hopefully they're concentrating on that aspect this year, no more last second heaves from Russell because nothing else is happening. I believe!!
