@CUbsfan What's the point in bringing that up? Its clear that it was just overflow from the Memphis/OKC game going into overtime. Its no different than ESPN moving the first part of games over to ESPNews.

@MarioCardone  I think you're being too reactionary by basing everything on Woodson and Jackson. Woodson being a "rogue" coach (whatever that means) and Jackson using the triangle when he coached. Like every vacant position (NBA or otherwise) you're gonna interview a bunch of candidates and pick the best one, or at least that's how it should be done. What you're ultimately looking for is someone whose style fits the current roster, or the willingness of the GM to go after players that fit the coaches style. Jackson is only the evaluator of talent and Woodson really has no bearing whatsoever on who they hire. IMO I think they just need to hire the best person available regardless of them running the triangle or not.

As a Suns fan I still vividly remember that horrible Marion for Shaq trade that Kerr executed. Sure give the guy a second chance (after all he's the best NBA color commentator working today), but how he's the perceived first choice is beyond me.

Also Kerr has been working with Turner from 2003 -2007 and then from 2010 - present. In the article you make no reference to Kerr's time as an analyst before his tenure with the Suns.

This is very sad news indeed. Sager has always been my favorite sideline reporter.

Made no sense to me why ESPN would rebroadcast the second round in prime time instead of showing the Pacers/Heat game.

Five years ago and it would have been a shame to lose phelps, but over the past couple of years his analysis has really gone downhill. The good news is that this leaves more room for Seth Greenberg.

Greg Gumbel/Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Clark Kellogg and Kenny Smith

Yeah they were better this year, but not enough to make them winners. Although Clark Kellogg did have a great first year as a studio analyst.

@CUbsfan @stuie299  I have no problem with Ernie Johnson and Steve Smith because they do their jobs well (Grant Hill of course being too new to judge). I have a problem with Kenny and Charles. Its ridiculous to think that NBA analysts who watch NBA games all year are gonna suddenly be able to comment on College teams. To make matters worse they insist on pairing Kenny and Charles with Greg Gumbel who have zero chemistry. Gumbel never knows how to handle their off the cuff remarks as he is much better at doing a straightforward type of show. It really has nothing to do with that deal between CBS/Turner either. Turner just doesn't cover enough CBB games to warrant hiring better CBB analysts. So if they're having problems putting together team specific broadcasts , i'd much rather have them save the money, and hire better CBB analysts next year. Its been what 4 years now. I would have expected some of these problems to be worked out.

This kinda thing annoys me. They're perfectly fine using Kenny and Charles year after year but even after complications arise they're still going forward with these team centric broadcasts. Turner should save their money and focus on cultivating some actual college basketball analysts for next years tournament.

I'm still surprised Dan Shulman lost. Even with John Buccigross being underseeded.

I hope you're right about that. They've been getting lax in the past couple of years.

Fox Football Daily is the kind of show that can earn the network high ratings when its just trying to fill time. They made the right decision to go with something broader as the anchor show. Though we will have to wait and see if the concept pans out. Now if only we could get them to retool Crowd Goes Wild they'd be in good shape.

I say get over it. I mean even if him not knowing it was an offensive term was total BS, the guy apologized on air and then apologized in person right after the game. Its not like its the 70's and we're watching All In The Family.

Yes, lets just gloss over the fact that the preseason number 2 is finally healthy. Lets just gloss over the fact that when most of their roster is intact they've played like a 1 seed. Now I agree that I was shocked when all of them picked MSU to win, but its nowhere near as outrageous as you make it sound.

I think it really hurt FS1/Big East that Butler, Georgetown and Marquette had down years. I also think FS1 needs to do a better job with original content. Fox Sports Live is great, but there is a steep drop off when Jay and Dan aren't hosting. Fox Football Daily is good enough. I gave Crowd Goes Wild a chance early on but that show is terrible and simply can not compete with Around The Horn, and PTI.
