@MJOKC @thebossman4 He plays good defense on more than just Duncan and Howard. He has been able to play great defense on Dirk over the last couple of years, Gasol, plays well against Denver, and Houston. He was a great defender against the Spurs in last years WCF several times making big stops when he had to switch on pick and rolls. And as Perk always says look at our winning % since he has been here. Not saying that he is the key cog to us being a winning team, but he is a piece that helped us get over the hump to become a top team in the NBA. Again we will have to agree to disagree on this one.
1 year, 8 months ago on Monday Bolts – 2.18.13
@MJOKC @thebossman4 agree to disagree on this one I guess. I think Perk fits with our team great and does what we need him to do. His rebounding is the one thing I wish he would improve on over the 2nd half of this season.
@loplopol YES PLEASE! How scary would OKC's crowd be if Russ could have a signal to get us quiet then send us in an uproar? Would be epic if nothing else.
@thebossman4 I don't think we try to move Perk until after the year, if we don't win a title this season. I think Perk is a solid part of our team, and most on the board hate on him way to much. Yes he is over payed but most big men are. He isn't as bad as some of you make him out to be.
Ibaka is probably my favorite player on the Thunder but he isn't showing as much growth on the overall game that I would like to see. He seems to get beat the most regularly on the defensive side. I'm glad his offensive game has grown some and will hopefully become more used in big games like that and on the road. If he doesn't pull the trigger early he gets lost in the flow of the game late, and when KD and Russ take over. Just a small rant, but I really want him to just do tons of video sessions with some of our coaches and Nick to just learn the smaller parts of the defensive side. He will be able to block more shots if he is in better position more often!

@sammasaaron @Skyline This is why I love that so many "talking heads" think that Westbrook is selfish. In that quote right there I feel like he basically said I don't care about stats I just want to Win!

So instead of calling it Perk's YOLO follow-through, it should be called his YOSO-follow through (you only shoot once) ;P
1 year, 8 months ago on The Thunder smoke the Suns, 127-96
@PerkPunt The first and most important is keep Russ and KD as happy as possible so they stay here for a long time.
2nd is keep using smart money on midseason vets who get cut after trades and keep finding quality players in the draft who can take 2 to 3 years to develop and contribute. Reggie is doing exactly what is needed from him, and after this season he will have another year to hone some of his shooting and PG skills and be able to give Russ more than 8 min of rest a game.
I think it is fairly easy for a GM when he has 2 amazing players and a third guy who is a great fit with them (Ibaka). I would think just keep the ship moving forward as it has been is the best Presti can do. Sorry if that is a boring response haha.
1 year, 9 months ago on Thunder Player Power Rankings: Tripped out
What do you all think of this trade? We would probably give up our Toronto pick and both of our 2nd rounders. Or just our 1st rounder and PJ or Lamb.
I don't know if anyone has said this yet but Anderson Varejo is going under the knife for 6-8 weeks.
I'm glad we didn't trade for him. Now for Gortat, so the Suns can get Gay and make Memphis less of a threat against us. :)
1 year, 9 months ago on Timberwolves vs. Thunder: Pregame Primer
@AIaska The question is do we want the Raptors to do decent so we get a top 8 pick this year or to do terribly so we get the pick next year?
I'd almost prefer it next year over this year, but I haven't looked at who all could be coming into the draft this season so that isn't an educated answer just a gut feeling one.
1 year, 10 months ago on Thunder smoke the Rockets a second time, 124-94
@Tronchaser Nice I'm in Houston. It was sad to see the Texans play so poorly the final 4 weeks, but hey playoffs is a whole new ballgame! Who will you be pulling for?
@Aren't @Lambchop Where is our 2nd round pick from the Bobcats on this list? Or is it a 2014 2nd rounder?
I like how it was us taking another 7 footer from Kansas. Cole 2.0!
So how did everyone do in their fantasy football leagues this year? I got 1st in my paid league $250 here I come! 1st and 5th in my 10 team friends leagues. And Adrian Peterson was just 9 yards short of the record still sad!
@cemitten I'm not saying giving up prospects for a upgrade is bad or that it doesn't fit the "win now" mode. I'm just saying in this particular deal I don't think Anderson is that much of an upgrade over Perk. So I don't want to give up that many prospects for that small of an upgrade. If we were flipping those for Dwight Howard I might consider it, but Anderson Varejo...lets be real haha.
1 year, 10 months ago on Thursday Bolts - 12.20.12
So I would not do the Varejo deal! I think Andy is a good player and would probably fit great for our team, but I think giving up 3 young pieces just to dump the Perk contract for a player that is 3 years older then him is stupid. I also don't want to mix up our team chemistry again. I think we can win a title with Perk at the 5 as long as Brooks doesn't play him 30+ min in every matchup. Our team is built to win now, and the next at least 5 years! As long as we have KD and Russ anything is possible for this team.
@OBoy Jones III All I'm saying is Kevin Martin brings up our team's attractiveness.
1 year, 10 months ago on Thunder Player Power Rankings: Rolling
@SoCal Thunder no that would mean Westbrook on Joe Johnson and that wouldn't be good, since Joe is so much longer than Russ
1 year, 10 months ago on Thunder vs. Nets: Pregame Primer
So we need Toronto to go on a little win streak right now. They are currently in line for the 3rd pick. I don't think I will be comfortable unless they have "odds" for the 5th pick. Just saying go Raptors...
1 year, 11 months ago on OKC swarms Harden and handles Houston, 120-98
So how would everyone feel about signing Tyreke Evans at the season's end. Obviously I see him as the 6th man. We could probably get him for cheaper than Maynor and Martin combined and if given the opportunity I think he could be pretty good. He can't be any worse than he already is. I know his shooting is awful, but maybe he has never had his teammates push him to greatness like KD, Russ, Ibaka and our organization could. Thoughts on Reke?
1 year, 11 months ago on Five Thunder players on the 2013 All-Star ballot
So Thabeet has looked really good these first 4 games in my opinion and may be the best addition to our team this year when it is all said and done! PJ3 looked really sloppy in the minutes he got, but glad he got some solid minutes in the game. Maynor looked a little out of control at times, but had some of his old moments as well. Thabo was good, Serge good, Russ good, Collison good, and K Mart good. KD was off tonight and that was a little sad to see, at least he dunked on Valuncianus(spell check)! Overall good game from the Thunder it was exactly what we needed/expected.
1 year, 11 months ago on Raptors vs. Thunder: Pregame Primer
Just remember everyone we are three games into the season. Yes we should be 3-0 and easily could be, but it's ok to go through some early growing pains and mental lapses from a post NBA Championship loss and big team trade. This team will be ok, and just remember even though RW can be a frustrating player he is a very valuable part to this team, and he is a better player than a lot of you are giving him credit for. Remember when he started terribly last season then after about game 8 started playing like a beast. The Thunder will be fine just weather the storm. #ThunderUp

@Lambchop @Legendary_Dork @EternalThunder That article is so absurd it is like drama writing. No point or fact to it just speculation and drama stirring haha. Are they all like that on that site?
1 year, 12 months ago on Saturday Morning Cartoons: Learning Lamb
So based on that video and the "strengths" and "weaknesses" that Lamb has I don't think he looks like a Kevin Martin type. The only similarity they showed is they both shoot well. I feel like there has to be a better comparison to who he could be with his length/defense ability. I wish I could think of someone who would fit that maybe Kevin Martin is the only one haha.
@Old Man Game Or Russ did you see him screaming at Lamb in excitement on his way back down the court. And when Thabeet got his layup and 1 the whole team started jumping around like they just sealed a W. Just a cool culture to have indeed makes guys want to play harder when you know all your teammates have your back.
1 year, 12 months ago on Back on track: OKC takes down Portland, 106-92
One thing I really appreciate about the Thunder is that no matter who is on the floor the players on the bench are engaged, cheering, and encouraging those on the floor. I haven't looked close at other teams to see if that is across the NBA right now but I love to see Perk, Westbrook, or KD standing and cheering for a guy when the make a shot or a good play. I think that is one reason this team will continue to be good because the stars of the team seem invested in the "little" guys. Just a I'm proud to be a Thunder moment for me :)
@TaoMaas @Old Man Game Our bench did outscore their bench if I remember correctly. The biggest issue was Ibaka and Westbrook missed a lot of makeable shots. Westbrook looked like 2011 Playoff Westbrook, and Brooks put him in bad situations late in game (dribbling the ball until 8 or 9 seconds on shot clock then having to force a play). And Thabo and Ibaka played really poor defense the first half. Those in my opinion are the things that killed us.

I love over reaction post game! It is one of my favorite part in sports! Harden scores 37, Thunder doomed for failure. Guys its going to be ok. We are going to be a top 2 seed in the West and fight for a title for as long as we have a guy named KD on our team.

2 years ago on Top 10 James Harden moments
Harden was never on a losing team, so this could be really hard for him to be in Houston. Will he respond like KD and Westbrook and never want that feeling again, or will he coast and just be a good player that makes lots of money? I think that will tell a lot about his character.
Either way the Thunder are still going to be a dominant team in the West and everyone should be afraid of IBLOCKa! Thunder Up!
Harden it was fun while it lasted, but if lots of money isn't good enough then fine go take a little more. This will be like the Cardinals and Pujols (Harden isn't quite as good as Pujols but similar to the team dynamic) and the Cardinals didn't miss a beat this year. It will be the same with the Thunder. We forget that we have possibly 2 of the top 7 players in the league with Russ and KD, plus a great third piece in Ibaka, and in my opinion a very deep and talented supporting cast, Perk, Thabo, Maynor, PJ3, Martin, and Lamb. We are still going to be a tough beat in the playoffs and I think we can still tame the Lakers. They haven't proven anything with their lineup! Thunder Up!!!!
2 years ago on Deal the Beard: What just happened?
@K-Dagger Plainview @MisterJohnsonOKC He was hurt last year that is why he didn't have as many trips to the line.
2 years ago on Thunder trade James Harden to Houston
@MisterJohnsonOKC @K-Dagger Plainview yea he shoots tons of FT and I'm pretty sure that is all he has ever run in the NBA is PnR. He doesn't have high ast numbers but that is because he always had to score for his team to be "competitive."
We will play small ball against everyone except the Jazz and the Lakers. So we really don't need a backup center. PJ3 and Nick will do fine as our backups. This actually does free up time for PJ3 to shine. But just sad we got Kevin Martin of all people!
I think that Thunder having the "target" on their back will actually be good for them. It will make them have to play with focus each night. Last season we went through some long stretches of just playing basketball and beating teams, but if other teams actually are able to give us their best because we won the WC last season I think it can only help our young guys continue to build focus. At least that is what I hope it will do :)

Let's see Bosh, Pau, La Aldridge, Kevin Love, I would say he is top 10 he is in the same area as Blake, Zbo, Duncan, J Smooth, and Garnett. Right now. Plus I think if he actually was given the chance to take 12 shots a game I think he would avg around 15-16 pts. Just my opinion of course, but Ibaka is pretty good.

@tydude @ocdred No guys don't you realize they won the game. Don't be logical about it, games are won by emotions and thoughts not by final numbers. In my opinion the Thunder are 32-3 because they shouldn't have lost 4 of those games.
2 years, 8 months ago on Thursday Bolts - 3.1.12
@tydude @dancassidy35 Well it was worth a try haha.
So I was thinking about a potential trade for the Thunder when ESPN was talking about trading Rondo. What if the Thunder sent, Reggie Jackson and Cole Aldrich for Ray Allen. The Celtics would get some young building blocks, and we would get that great starting 2, someone who can run an offense if need be, and someone who would fit great with Durant and Westbrook because the man knows how to move without the ball. I don't think those two for him would work money wise but what would yall think of a move like that.
I love at the 1:06-1:11 mark just watch Dirk's reaction in the background! I bet he's thinking "good, I don't have to run back on offense this time, and he is pretty good!"
