yes, that ride was probably the best ride i've ever been on (even "94") because it seemed like family and although some have moved away i can't wait to get to the ticket counter and buy my ticket for the next hopefully exciting ride. in today's world of sports i don't think you often see what the team accomplished last year, except with maybe the callahan situation but look who they brought in, a long lost ( it seemed) uncle and look how he fit with team. i think he made them much stronger. let's hope greed doesn't break up the rest of the family and if it doesn't i think that will make them stronger. let's remember that a team and a family consist of all, not individuals. doesn't AJ Castiglia make you want to buy that ticket right now, get on the bus and go for (THE RIDE). another great video to get one in the mood. just think, they just need that bus to get to the NEXT STATION  !!!!!!!     " The Way They Were", pretty much says it all, that and "The Big Chill" maybe the best two movies ever. one more thing, the only team ever, that i think surpasses last years was team USA, 1980 @ Lake Placid.

this whole thing with tampa really doesn't hurt us at all. we certainly didn't want to pay any of these guys what they wanted, especially callahan, so "GOOD RIDDANCE" TO ALL TO HOPEFULLY "never" to be seen in a ranger uniform again !!! we need to use our system, see what we have and go on from there. if a decent trade pops up then address it. you just can't get worried over this, there will be answers.

feelings on some of the comments:  dan boyle, my fear with him is wasting 4.5 mil on possible injury, hopefully not.  AV can control his minutes per game !!!   penner, D'Augstini, setiguchi, et al, at this point we don't want any more dead wood, let's use our own resources. tanner glass, AV himself likes him and i believe he also said he's improved, so after last years success we sort of have to lean on his judgement some what, a little overpaid though.  brian boyle, i really don't know what his thinking  is, he definately isn't going to be what he wants to be, not with what they have in tampa. i think he really blew his chance. another thought is that since del zotto is a good buddy w/ stamkos, maybe he and boyle reunite down there . strallman, on the other hand made out like a bandit, his agent raped tampa !!! and he was also replaceable. brad richards: we will miss him short term but in the long run the $$$ can be used elsewhere. (by the way skjei looks like a freakin tank.) now pouliot made himself the contract of the century, how can anyone blame him for signing that one ? just like everbody else, if the rangers pick up anyone else, let them have size and speed !!!!  let's hope AV isn't a one year coach.

well with all that's been said, the statement that sticks out is that: it could very easily been 4-1 the other way, meaning the ranger's favor. 3 breaks in the 3 ot games could have done that. from a season where none of this was really expected can we really be that disapointed? sure but only for a bit. the L.A.. kings are a very, very GOOD team and apparently, at present have the best coach in the league so being second to them is no shame, only the disapointment of being that close. the questions now are, are the guys that played so well as a team this year going to take the money and run or are they going to try to stick together and try to finish what they started. i like the makeup of the team but in order to improve changes need to be made and i think we all know where the first one will be and that will be brad richards. for whatever reason he's just lost his edge. we also need to get a bit bigger with some speed, especially on "D" but where can you really find that ? unless you get lucky or sather pulls off another aquisition, basically they have a pretty good D. any way you look at it, the team chemistry will be changed and that, above all is what i think got them there, unlike in "94". so in two weeks or so is when the fun stuff starts happening all over again, we'll be back into it full force. at 67 an 53 years a ranger fan i still want another CUP or two. you know that going back to back that the odds are slim. we've beaten some decent teams and though i think we're still better, there's a lot of competition out there especially with a healthy detroit. depending on who they decide to re-sign this summer or not probably has a lot to do with his future. if he tries to keep the same team i'd say stay but if there's a turn over it might be an idea to put an effort to train some one else, for who knows when the the next time this will happen. for all those good deals that were mentioned, there was some pretty bad ones. when you're winning you're loved, when losing you're hated......

sure we all want nash to produce like the superstar that we think he is but he's running in some bad luck so let's give him credit for not being a spoiled brat, sulking over it. from  what i've seen he's doing all the other aspects of the game superbly to make up for not scoring a ton of goals. other teams still have to prepare for him because of what he is able to do, leaving room in the game for other teamates to pick up the slack. if the other teams start to ignore him, look for him to go on a roll. let's get behind him not on him.

NOW i read that giroux guaranteed a win in game 4, boy i sure hope that statement gets shoved right up his ass sideways, i'm gettin sick of his cheap shot crap too, it wouldn't really bother me if someone laid him out with a legal hit or he took a puck right between the eyes, reminding me of cindy cosby. you know that if the refs called the game the correct way the rangers would be on a 40 minute power play. lot of good things happening right now, "keep skating rangers"

by the way if everyone is trying so hard to protect the players, why does it seem that there are far more players going on the injured reserve ? the more i think about what don cherry says about letting the players police their own game the more i think he's got a point. also, the way i see it is that more players are not paying attention to what's going on around them on  the ice, thus putting themselves in line for injury.

how about this, let's see if we can get the two sutters that are in the league to new york. that would be a start just because of the blood lines, sort of a jump start, build a team around that type of attitude. if they have the same attitudes as their dads you could  start there and let that seep into the other players so they don't become embarrased. as i've said before these guys make way too much $$$ without having to earn it. by the way, i'll give nash a pass right now because of his concussion, he has no one to help protect him, a la,( mcgratten or boll).  he also needs a speed centre to open up some space for him but it wouldn't bother me to see brad r, henrik, ( because of his contract ) or anyone who can't put out an effort to get the heck out of here. just think of the $$$ that could be used for those who do want to play instead of being idols. also if any body thinks that dolan is going to change things internally it's probably not going to happen as long as they keep us, as fans, paying THEIR PRICES and buying THEIR STUFF !!! YOU KNOW, THE BOTTOM LINE .

who caes about the contracts etc. we all know that most players make more than they should but basically that's the owners fault for giving it to them. for crying out loud it's a game. to estrange the hockey fans again that would be absolutly f****ng ridiculous. it not only affects the fans ( who PAY their salaries and make the owners their profits) but takes many jobs away from people who support these teams such as TV crews, concession and maintence workers and many others jobs that support the teams concerning hockey. what then is going to happen is that the owners and league will try to make up for any lost revenues after the fact, which will make it that much harder for a normal fan to watch a game whether it be in person or on tv. so this really after going through this once,  is idioticly f*****g stupid. #1 GET rid of bettman and his idiosy of running the league and #2 put more of a focus on the fans who deserve better than this bull***t. if this doesn't get resovled SOON, than we as hockey fans should just leave the game and NOT support them either. if we as fans threaten the league and the players, what do have to come back to ?  I SAY GO ON STRIKE NOW !!!

AnnoyingJoe, the players are over paid but only because the idiot owners give it to them ! so if the league and the owners concentrate more on us as fans it's more of a win win situation for all. a lot of money will be lost by a lot of support people, like concession, maintenence, tv / radio crew people etc., so who do you think the owners and the league are thinking about ? NOT US, "THE FANS" the people who let them make the living and earnings that they do.  they don't care about us, so i say let it be known that from here on, we don't give a damn about them and maybe they might just crawl out of they're a**wholes to see the light of day and see how really good they have it. before long we normal people won't be able to watch a hockey game in person or on tv becaue of the fact they have to raise their prices to make up for lost revenue !!!  !!! fire bettrman!!!

if i've said it once i've said it eight thousand times, if you're a goaltender & leave your crease you should be held to the same rules as a skater. if i were playing i'd NAIL any goalie that was STUPID enough to put himself in that position. come on rules commitee lets not treat these so called athletes like pussy a**ed wimps !!! if they don'y want to be hit, STAY IN THE CREASE.... CHANGE THE RULING...
