I was highly critical of the move yesterday. Still think there were better attainable options. That said I was impressed with Coach Jones today in the presser. Willing to bite tongue for now.

Five years from now Strong will have Louisville as one of the top teams in the ACC and Butch Jones will just be another ex head Coach at UT that failed miserably.
What a disastrous hire if true. Only thing Butch Jones has proven is that he's a worse Coach than the just departed Dooley.
Only question to play out over the next two - three seasons with this atrocity is whether we can remain ahead of Missouri and Kentucky in a battle to stay out of the SEC East Cellar.
This impending hire assures Us here in Orange Nation that Georgia, Florida South Carolina and Vandy will remain out of reach as long as all current Coaches remain at their respective institutions.
Tennessee had one of the two worst Coaches in the Conference when Dooley left and now after 19 days being made the punchline of a National Joke we still have one of the two worst Coaches in the SEC.

Sumlin, Strong, Franklin have all proven to be better coaches and would have been far better coaches for UT had we chose to get involved with any of the trio than so called "proven coaches'that John seems to favor in this case.

W While I agree with advice to remain calm, please no more mention of Bo Pelini as some type of savior. He's no better coach than the one that just departed.
Hart has badly mismanaged this and will hopefully be forced to the role of puppet during the rest of the search.
There are viable coaches worth checking on but Pelini damn sure isn't one of them.
Good article John. Glad to see you've finally crossed Florida State of the "Suspects list. This is straight up about the TV sets, demographics and dollars. Florida State nor any other school in a state with a presiding SEC member will be considered.

SEC should immediately mandate a 10 Game Conference schedule. 6 divisional opponents 1 permanent cross rival and rotate the other 6 teams in and out (home and away every two years.

Current Non Conference schedules featuring the Jacksonville States of the world and a bunch of directional schools are an effin joke.
