Thanks a lot for the feedback guys. Glad it was of interest.
Fantastic! Thanks a lot! Congrats to all, it was great fun.
Fascinating. The thing is, it's no longer tilt-shift. It looks almost as though he was working with a z-depth pass to create fake DOF. I wonder if he drew these by hand. Must have been a huge amount of work. Some of the defocusing effects are a bit OTT but still, it's definitely a new take on the tilt-shift genre...
Glad you guys like it. Can't wait to check the card. As for the difference between the 590 and 580 I think it's balanced. The 590 is more powerful and faster but has less vram accessible to Octane than the 580 because it is essentially two cards.
Very, very nice indeed. I too am curious about the workflow to get such perfect tree reflections in the windows.
It's hard to look at these and not to think of Peter Guthrie's images.
Hi Robert. No, the scene is lit with a jpg plugged into a DomeLight. For very overcast skies, like here, there is not much difference in the dynamic range of an HDR image and a jpg. The directional lighting is provided by a Max direct light (in order to have control of the colour).
ronenbekerman Yes, but it works wonders on furniture, though. Only drawbacks being the all-tris output and high polycount.
Very impressive modeling. Nice use of Marvelous Designer (CLO3D).
Thanks again for the wonderful feedback, guys. very much appreciated.
Thanks a lot for the amazing showcase, Ronen. Glad you guys like the images.
Very nice indeed. It can't get much closer to a 100 percent match.
Very inspirational. I think I'm going to have a go at it, having seen this. (If only there was more time!)
I have, actually. I love it and so do my daughters. Haven't tried to re-import the models into Max yet, though. One other thing I'm getting excited about today is the news that Exlevel has put out a free tree library for GrowFX. It will be a nice way to get started on new trees. ronenbekerman
Thanks for the plug, Ronen. Glad you guys like it!
