Gotta say, I love me some ARMs! I don't think inflation is going up at all anytime soon.

Congrats to Obama! Although both parties spent $2 billion which could have gone to helping people directly, it's now time to focus back on the economy!

I get the sense there's a lot of dissatisfaction as well. An important point is to empower yourself with knowledge so you can properly engineer your layoff and do something else with a plan.

Jump with your eyes wide open first. The internet really has changed the way we can live and work!

Srini, I get your message, but before any date you go on, be aware the date will read this post.  Might be good, might be bad.

Would love to hear what women think and if they comment.

So many times I wanted to quit during the past 13 years working in finance.  From the internet bubble to the housing bubble, things were bad a lot of times!  But through it all, I stuck through it, saving 50-70% of my after-tax income without fail, and at the age of 35, I'm financially independent with a stream of passive income to live off for the rest of my life.

Now I do what I want, when I want.  I blog because it is fun, and having fun and doing something meaningful is so important!

The sacrifice of working hard, getting into work before everyone else, going to grad school, starting a side venture is WORTH IT!  Do it while you got the energy and reap the rewards for the rest of your life.

@Dan DeLaiarro It's fun for others to pontificate about that what which we do not understand yeah?  Hence that post Srini! http://yakezie.com/201204/featured/the-act-of-writing-saying-what-we-dont-understand/

@JetSetCitizen Self-indulgence.  Well put.  I have to agree entirely.  Social media, internet, and lifestyle design stuff in the wrong hands = disaster and a life unfulfilled, spinning one's wheels forever.

Srini, it will be interesting to read about you talking about career given your work as a blogger.  In America, I think we start at the middle to top of the pyramid already.  Life is easy here compared to the rest of the world.

Ahh, once you get to Portlandia, you might never escape!

If you've got the money, why not take 3 weeks off to explore the world.  Makes sense to me!

Just remember there's work to be done when you return.

Honestly, it's not even close.... might be worth 5% of a full-time MBA.  It's all about the massive network and connections, besides the great relationships.

If you highlight a PMBA on your resume... it will be detrimental imo from an interviewer with a real MBA.  Trust me on this!

@skooloflife Sounds good Srini.  It's no big deal at all, which is why it's ironic you're talking about it :)

Where you boarding?  I just got to my place in Tahoe and will be here for the week since it dumped 7 feet last week!

I donno Srini. You have one post that encourages one person to not get a job after college, and now you're saying college is useless if you're not pursuing a professional degree.

It's understandable to project your disappointment due to your experiences, since that is all we have. However, I encourage you to be more optimistic!

If you want to revel in pessimism, I think you will LOVE this post: http://untemplater.com/business/quit-your-job-and-self-destruct-like-an-idiot/
