It was against Buffalo... so I'm not holding my breath

Truth be told Montreal at least gives effort and plays with passion. Which is more then I can say about the Leafs right now. Makes me sick.

Leafs are the same team as last season. Except we won't win as many games given that it'll be tough for Bernier to repeat what he did last season. I expect us to finish at least in the 8th spot if not maybe a bit lower in the draft... 7, 6, 5th spot

One game against Buffalo doesn't erase a season's worth of poor effort and lack of heart play from most of the team.

And Dion just skating backwards watching the whole thing happen and not making an attempt to engage the player...

IT's fucked because I would expect a professional hockey player to know not to stand at the blue line waiting for the puck and what to do when back checking.

Simple. He watched the Leafs play last year like we did and noticed how they are lazy and don't care

Nothing against you I just don't understand that logic... "Last year was a different team and it's done." In reality all the main pieces from last year are still here and those same pieces are still expected to lead us. However, they've proven time and time again that they can't. We've already seen the same mistakes that plagued our team last year occur this year. The signs are there. It's time to blow this team up and get players in here that aren't "lazy" and care "a little more" about the blue and white

And even then Colorado was playing on a back to back night. They were tired. I think that game would of been tougher for the Leafs to win had Colorado been fresh.

Problem is last year we got lucky winning as many games as we did. Mostly in part due to Bernier. The Leafs are making the exact same mistakes this season only difference is we aren't getting the same goal tending. Things need to change in a hurry with this team's effort or we'll soon find ourselves at the bottom... In which case, I'm cool with because I think we need to blow this team up. The core players on this roster are a joke... and LAZY.

Well we brought in new players and new coaches... Still our compete level is shit. Think that says a lot about the core of our roster who are relied upon heavily to lead this team.

Honestly, I think it's time to blow this thing up. No fighting or coach or player will change this team's lack of effort and heart.

Don't think so. Carlyle has been giving Gardiner lots of ice time. In fact I think Gardiner was only behind Dion last season in ice time which says what Carlyle thought of Gardiner.

IMO just coach. Gotta think Shannahan will give Nonis another go after they get a new coach in here.

Shannahan came out this past summer and said the system they used last season is gone. And Carlyle is willing to make changes. Doesn't sound like Carlyle had any strong hand after those comments were made. And if anything just says to me that the coach that the Leafs are targeting isn't available till next summer... hence having the club option on year two of Carlyle's contract.

It was a 1 year plus a club option for a second season no? Gotta think the Leafs will throw a boat load of cash at Bobcock when he becomes available this summer

Yea it was pointed it out against the Boston game just how lazy most of our forwards are... ie top two lines. They were standing on the blue line and not skating around trying to get open or supporting each other for most of the night.

You coming out and talking about Gardiner and how he should of been traded. We traded away Steen and look at how that turned out. We bitch and complain about not keeping young players that need time to develop and when they stumble because they are surrounded by shitty team mates that don't compete we blame the young players for the loss. Yes Gardiner sucked last night but so did Dion and Bozak and just about every other player.

IMO we need to blow this thing up and get rid of Nonis and Carlyle.

Wish all the players that sucked last year were benched as well then. I actually might of agreed with this benching now and see that there was some sort of accountability. Better yet, how many players played like shit against Pittsburgh... and how many of them got put up in the pressbox?

I understand but when your team gets blown out in one of those game because the team was playing like shit and the other was the first game of the year, well that's not really giving a player time to get his feet wet and get his game going. It just feels like the second Gardiner does something bad he's out to me
