Well if you look at the stats of the Anaheim ducks even when they won the cup... they were getting outshot and having puck possession issues as well. Difference is, they had Getzlaf, Perry, Selanne, Pronger, Niedermayer etc.

Carlyle didn't give a shit about it then and still doesn't. This is why we need to trade players, let some walk, need new leaders in the dressing room that hold each other accountable and a new fucking coaching staff :)

As the coach though, Carlyle needed to hold players accountable. He didn't and continued to let most of the team play like this. IMO it's on the players and the coach.

Sorry I should say unless your name was Kadri or Gardiner... you weren't be held accountable

I do as well. That's the problem I have with the NHL. It's okay to lose because you get rewarded with the best prospect. THis is a professional sport... it should be about winning. Not tanking for 5 years...

I've heard that... I've also heard some scouts biggest fear with Ritchie is that he's close to maxing out on his potential. And that's a fine line between becoming a Lucic type of player or close to it and a 3rd/4th liner. I'd take Virtanen or Ehlers with our pick personally.

I'd be very happy with Vertanain as well... He'd be my second pick if Ehlers was gone. Check out my vid of Ehlers up top :)

Richie could end up like Lucic or could be another 3rd liner which we have some developing already in the AHL. We need firepower man

On the other side, players with Richie's size usually do end up dominating in the juniors. My fear is he's very close to his full potential which is something that JVR pointed out as well earlier tonight.

I think we need that type of forward that has star potential written all over him... I'd draft Ehlers all day. Trade up to get him if we have to.

People on here say his size is an issue but after watching some of his goals... the kid just puts his head down drives hard to the net using his quick speed and awesome hands to get by players.

I want a coach that can coach a team and hold them accountable. I want players, like you said, that give a shit. That's why many of us on here want a coaching change and players traded/let go.

From what I've been told he treats them the same way Carlyle does. When I asked about Seth Jones, they said he uses him too much and it's effecting his development... much like how we used Schenn when he first landed in Toronto. But like I said, that's coming from a fan...

I'm more worried about his player decision and the way he treats younger players. Heard some bad things about this from Nashville fans.

Regardless though, this Leaf roster will get shaken up this summer... and a new coach will get brought in. No question about that.

Reimer should be traded this summer. He deserves a fresh start. He's a good goalie. Plus I'd like to avoid a "Vancouver goalie" situation here...

Yes most of the players on the roster sucked ass this year but Carlyle also had a hand in steering this team down the toilet. Not playing Holland. Not holding players accountable for there mistakes if there name isn't Kadri or Gardiner... Like true form Carlyle goes back at attacking Gardiner who was one of the few players to bring it on a nightly basis this year and especially when it mattered most... the last 15 games when this team was pushing for the playoffs.

The sooner we get Carlyle out of here the better.

Question is, what's it going to take to get him out of Carolina?

Kadri is making 2.9M as oppose to Jordan's 6M. Kadri is also having an off year. That's pretty good to score 50 points in an off year for Kadri. Don't get me wrong though... As I do like Jordan Staal and if he's available, I hope we take a run at him.

I know I know... But Spezza is essentially Raymond, at center position. Biggest problem our Leafs had this year was too many guys taking nights off. Spezza is no different. We need guys who come out and compete. Not guys that shy away when the going gets tough.

No thanks to Trotz. Talking to Nashville fans and the guy isn't what this team needs moving forward. They say his misuse of players is almost as bad as Carlyle and the only reason why he got anywhere with Nashville is because of Weber, Suter and Rinne.

Funny how he goes from saying everything that's said in the dressing room stays there... then comes out and essentially throws Gardiner under the bus a minutes later... even though he doesn't use his name.

Despite what Gardiner thinks of himself and yes he makes mistakes... he's also young and is one of the few Leafs that brings it every night. Certainly down the stretch where he and Rielly put the team on there backs

Glad to hear from various sports reporters that it sounds like the Leafs are planning on making quite a few roster changes this summer... as well as a coaching change. Hope this all comes true.

On another note, I think Bernier is one of the few if not the only guy that actually speaks his mind in the media. After the Leafs won a game back a couple months ago and everybody was saying how well the Leafs played, Bernier came out and said we need to tighten up as a team if they plan on getting better because they are making to many mistakes and the effort isn't consistent. Those words were used by him again today in the media. Love Bernier!

I can relate to the depression cure... but I know what I see when I watch Biggs and I agree fully with PentHouse. Yes he won't be a first/second line guy, but he has the potential to be an absolute solid 3rd line guy that can kill penalties. Which is what we desperately needed this year. Leafs don't have problems with scoring... it's with keeping puck possession in the offensive zone, cycling, toughness, and forechecking that they struggled with.

But how can he say that Biggs is a bust when he's only 20 and the type of player he projects to be takes longer to develop... and just for the record, Kadri was labelled a bust up until last year. People need to be patient.

Leafs picked depth guys in the draft and targeted young highly skilled players in trades... IE Kessel, JVR, Gardiner, Holland... There's no right or wrong way to rebuild. Everyone has there on opinions

This is there first year of success. They were in the bottom and most sports analysts had them finishing there again this season. Leafs were 9th in the NHL with 15 games left in the regular season. We're not far off...

Hoping for picks to pan out is one way... to trade for young players that have a couple years of development and are further along is another way to rebuild. IE Gardiner, Holland, JVR, Kessel. You're making it seem like your way is the only way to rebuild when it's not. For the record, Edmonton is doing it your way and are still stuck in the bottom... Leafs did it a bit different and are seeing more success.
