@septimus4 I TOTALLY agree with you on Bass but the experts think differently. Guess it's easier to write negative, finger pointing stories then to give some credit to Otis. I mean he is the same guy who built this team; drafted Dwight, gambled on Turk, three 50 winning seasons, multiple playoff appearances, two Eastern Conference Finals, Finals, half billion dollar Arena with a billion dollar profit over time all while in a VERY small market & one major superstar who just recently began to get recognized as a superstar about 2-3yrs ago. Whoever was the GM when Tracey McGrady (Superstar) was in Orlando did a better job then Otis is doing. Yea Otis, YOU SUCK! You're doing a HORRIBLE job. All of us village idiots & common folk can do a WAAAAYYYY better job as GM for the Orlando Magic. Some ppl think Otis can just wave a magic wand (no pun intended) & bring in any superstar in the league. & don't give me that "he traded all the worthy trade pieces away" Seriously? Was Gortat that hot? is he hot now?
3 years ago on Otis Smith’s bad offseason
Hedo is done. Two 5hr Energy drinks before every game this year won't help him. He can't shoot the ball well anymore & most importantly he doesn't make good decisions passing the ball either. If there's anything to definitely blame Otis for it's the trade to bring back Turk. But at the same time it was a 50/50 gamble. He didn't play well in Toronto & Phoenix because they clearly weren't using him correctly. So I understand why Otis figured he might do well back in Orlando but he clearly has NO gas left in the tank. I REALLY hope Otis can bring in Igoudala or Ellis. Some kind of quick slasher off the dribble. I personally think that's ALL Orlando needs to go from good to great. One consistent slasher will open the offense up A LOT!
3 years ago on Can Hedo Turkoglu redeem himself?
It's been quiet since the Glenn Davis trade, please don't tell me Otis is done wheeling & dealing????? If so he might as well trade Dwight now. The team they have now is extremely average.

Eddy, since the CP3 deals didn't go down, are there ANY trade possibilities that could bring Chris Paul to Orlando? Any legit chances?
3 years ago on Dwight Howard is open to staying with Magic
I guess the easy thing to do would be to bash every move Otis makes as of late. There were no complaints when Rashard was making three's, when Peirtrus was playing defense/chuckin up 3's, when he drafted Dwight, signed Hedo as a free agent, they were in the ECF & Finals. Now every move Otis makes sucks? Guess EVERYBODY & their mama could have done better than Otis as a GM in a very small market/city. How often does a superstar leave & comes to join another superstar in a small market? Also, Dwight has only been deemed "superstar" for the past few yrs out of his 7yrs in the league. Just a few yrs back he was just a an All-Star defensive center BUT every superstar/all-star that's been a free-agent from the last 7yrs that didn't want to come play with Dwight is Otis' fault????
3 years ago on Reactions to Magic re-signing Jason Richardson
@Aphillip712 Yea. Right. Anyway.
3 years ago on Dwight Howard’s agent in contact with Lakers, Nets, and Mavs
@Aphillip712 But he's always injured. He's only played 53 games in 3yrs. His gona be a HUGE injury problem. I doubt his look or injury gets better. There's a reason behind his multiple injuries. And Dwight will go where the Magic say so if they offer him to the right team. I doubt Dwight would turn down the chance to play in NY with Melo.
Also what about Amare' & Chandler for Dwight & Turk?
My idea: If the Nets sign Nene, do you think they'll send him (Nene) & Lopez to Orlando for Dwight & Hedo? And of course some 1st round picks.
I strongly disagree with Eddy. I think Brandon Bass was extremely inconsistent and a defensive liability. When it comes down to offense between the two players they are about the same BUT I'd give Glenn the edge because of his attitude/confidence. Glenn continues to fight, where as Brandon would disappear. There's a reason Brandon Bass didn't get much playing time in Orlando. Time well definitely tell who was the winner of this deal & I think the Magic benefited greatly. I don't think Brandon Bass will ever thrive in Boston's defensive skeem because they're much more complicated then the Magic's. If he couldn't consistently hold his own in Stan's very simple defense what makes you think he's going to do better in Boston? Also I don't think Otis is playing into what "Dwight likes" I think Otis see's he has a team that is a few upgrades away from a championship so he made small tweaks. Given his position with a loaded roster without much wiggle room & the small market he's in which would make it hard to land another superstar even if he had the trade bait, I think this was a very good move. How can you say that Otis shouldn't play into what Dwight says but you've also stated that in order to keep Dwight in Orlando Otis must land another superstar. Sounds a bit contradicting to your argument.
3 years ago on Magic trade Brandon Bass for Glen Davis
@CarloSimone Sadly though, I don't think this is enough for Dwight to stay in Orlando much longer. I think he'll be gone before the season starts.
@CarloSimone Big Baby isn't a huge upgrade over Brandon Bass but he is bigger, more aggressive & high energy. I think his confidence makes him a more consistent player on offense & defense than Brandon Bass. Most importantly, Brandon Bass was HORRIBLE on the defensive rotations & has been since he came to Orlando. Big Baby is a much better, bigger, aggressive & passionate defender, especially on the defensive rotations. Emphasis on the defensive rotations & help defense where as Brandon lacked tremendously. Glenn can also play the center position. I like this trade.
Sooooooooooooooo is there ANY truth to this? Is this speculation? Why New Jersey? Was his original destination L.A.? Is this situation as the Chris Paul deal?
3 years ago on Is Dwight Howard headed to New Jersey?
I agree with you. What pisses me off is Orlando magic fans have NO reliable source for info. I had to find out through ESPN/ESPN.com. Both NBA.com & ESPN.com sites for the Orlando Magic have NO info on Dwight being traded to the Nets. We buy season tickets, believe in the skinny little kid from ATL & he quietly walks out in the middle of the night. It's a sad day for Orlando Magic basketball & the NBA as a whole. Guess we should have saw this coming when the CEO of the Magic stepped down. It's sad that we as Orlando residents& supporting fans have to find out like this. @EricFarrell
