@JADEL @Northernboy Yes yes it's all about 'heart', nevermind his limited movement, backhand, etc. Lack of 'heart' is all that's holding Isner back. *yawn*

@Hartt @lolwhat "No adjustments Bouchard could have made would have made any difference." - That's not a fact, we don't know that. What we do know is that she made no adjustments. Not even something as basic as taking a step back to receive first serves.

Mentally tough players note what's going on in a match and adjust in the heat of battle, especially when things are going badly. An example would be Michael Chang throwing in tons of off pace shots vs. Lendl, or Fed using short slices against Delpo. Bouchard made no adjustments whatsoever and got bagelled for her mental rigidity. She should just be grateful it was best of three, because another set would have been no better. That said, she came one match away from winning a grand slam, but came badly unstuck against a true power player, the kind she'd avoided throughout her draw.

The bandwagon needs repairs. You can almost hear the media slugs praying for the cute one to be better than the rest.

Take a seat please. We are all free to discuss whatever you want. I have no problem with women earning more than the men. If they're generating the revenue then they've earned it. Why isn't there equal prize money between NBA & WNBA? Beyond any organizational borders, the core reason is because more people watch the NBA, and so it generates greater revenues, and as a result the players earn more.

@Davineaux89 this is such a tired and flawed argument. Czech Republic has a population of 10M and they continue to produce very good, and sometimes great, players. It's the coaching in my opinion.

@RageIssues that's nothing 'logical' about describing a 6-3 6-0 plastering as 'One fantastic tennis player handily beat another fantastic tennis player'. One of them was fantastic, take a guess, use your so-called logic. The character assassination stuff is overdone, but so is trying to diffuse it by ignoring the obvious gulf in class between the players we witnessed.

@tennisfan2331 @emilywilds Yeah. Bouchard didn't adjust very well to Petra's pace. In most of her matches she has more power than her opponents. She had way to play to when she wasn't dictating the majority of points. I think Halep, with her guile, movement, and more variety could have disrupted Kvitova's rhythm a bit more. And then get bagelled.

Well played Kvitova! She was in the zone and Bouchard's aggressive court positioning got bagelled. When Kvitova plays near her best level, she can be unplayable.

@Roxitova nobody has been underestimating Bouchard, the media have been fawning over her for months. Halep on the other hand, it's like they have to be forced to give her credit where it's due.

@Paul Goldberg @teddyw406 Dimitrov played well enough, but don't let the Murray match mislead you,. Murray was awful, hitting tons of errors off his favourite backhand side. Let's see how Dimitrov plays against Djokovic, who's a lot more aggressive that Murray.

Fed vs. Raonic, like any Raonic match may come down to a few points coz Raonic's serve can be unreturnable when it's on. We'll see. I respect Raonic's game, but it can be tedious at times so I'm rooting for Fed in that one.

@MNTennisFan That was a very good set by Stan. It's almost impossible to maintain that level for best of 5 sets unless your opponent just gives up. Fed maintained B+ throughout and that was good for the win.
