@Northernboy @KomboChapfika The best time for dealing with racist chanting people in the crowd is as it's happening. The umpire should call them out and security should remove them. This was been done for people holding up legitimate protest signs at the last AO. Indian Wells in the crucial moment and thereafter did little, preferring to pretend it didn't happen.

@sk310 @GOS We already knew that, but thanks for the lesson.

Was the racist chanting every addressed in any way? If not then why come back?

An otherworldly performance from Rafa to beat the irrepressible Juan Monaco.

@jodyjdc Nah. You're oversimplifying things, sometimes other players are just plain better. Better movers, better stamina, more versatile, and hungrier to boot. Harrison's game is solid, but nothing leaps out to me as world-beating. Nishikori has a lot more game than him, for example.

B U R N !
@TennisDad @KomboChapfika @cyrilcanada @LadyM I was being sarcastic and making fun of the kads who cling to the head-to-heads against a handful of players as though that's all that matters.

@cyrilcanada @LadyM the head to heads are safe!
'Young, clearly unnerved, double-faulted on the next point and was broken when Ivanisevic approached and knocked off a forehand volley winner.'

@IamAbraxas Well said. I have no special intel, but I suspect that's what's going on with this guy. Some children raised without a strong and present father tend to be off-kilter because of the lack of that male disciplinary figure.
@yello fuzzy That's a very lame argument. If someone mugs you and runs off saying "shit happens" I doubt you'll see much merit in that. That's essentially what you're saying. It's a pass for any wrongdoing, not just the ones you want to support.
@yello fuzzy That's a very lame argument.
@IamAbraxas @KomboChapfika Mothers are female too. Your caveat has some merit, but parent coaches exist on both ATP & WTA.
@jc18 @IamAbraxas If the women generate more revenue let them earn more than the men, but if they don't then, no. I don't see anyone campaigning for equal pay for male models. It all got so politicized that economic fairness went out the window.
Off the top of my head. ATP pros coached by women at some point:
Murray, Istomin, Connors, Safin?.. I think there are others too
@VelizarDrazhev @Joyce B The mental issues aside, his forehand isn't that hot tbh. Same goes for his second serve.

[ insert bagel here ]
@14Juillet "it is the equivalent of calling a black man 'boy' and asking him to tap dance."
Actually it's not. Insert Monfils into your imaginary analogy and it becomes obvious that you're off. The twirl request was lame and childish, but don't overplay your hand.

@14Juillet You're forgetting something. Bouchard could have just said "No." or even "You first." She's not obliged to play along with lame on court interviewers.
Too many bagels.
@Northernboy @shari12 At no point did Maria look like winning that match. Muguruza and Keys at least created a sense of 'what-if?' When it comes to Sharapova the only question is how will she lose to Serena.

@mlboykin @Sammyonthego @jabeau Just as Rafa made Berdych look 'godlike' with that woeful bagel set. There's more than enough snark to go round.
@Jewell lol. Rafa is either winning it all or in a 'post-injury comeback'. I wish I had those rose-tinted shades.
3.5 at best. The guy should thank Delpo for his Wimby trophy. The guy needs therapy.

@Take That Glad Murray lost. ha.
@TorontoS His demeanor tells me he won the last set 6-0 and the match was over as a contest long before the final shot.
That fourth set tells you all you need to know about the merits of calling it a 'Big 4'.
@IamAbraxas Animal portraits are to art as burgers are to food. IMHO

Andy Roddick got very good at talking too.

@gr8sou sounds like a bitter pouty fanboy. Try no to cry too much about it.
@zola123 @Sherry D The mayor difference is one is allowed and one is not.
@zola123 @wunderkid This is the real Rafa too. He's not just 'real' when he's at his absolute best. That's an unreal way of looking at sports.
On second thought I'd like Stan to defend his title.
2 months ago on Conversation @ http://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2015/01/stan-wawrinka-through-to-semifinals-of-australian-open/53851/
Nadal was outgunned from the offset and had no answer. When he was younger and being outgunned he could back off the baseline and win with intense defense, but his legs can't do that on hard courts anymore. He has to play better, more aggressive-less reactive, tennis to win now that he's not the strongest fittest guy on tour. The miraculous gets are great spectacles, but they're also a symptom of being defensive and way out of position.
We'll see going forward how much he plays on non-clay surfaces. He essentially stopped playing after Wimby last yr, If this was his first Top 10 opponent since RG that says a lot.
We've seen this before. At one point Fed and Gonzo had the biggest forehands n tour. That time past, Gonzo retired and Fed kept at it. It's been interesting watching him continue to play and win a lot (#2 in the world) when he's no longer the fittest and biggest hitting slugger on tour. To borrow from boxing, he's a cruiser weight now, while guys like Raonic, Berdych, Djokovic, Delpo! et al are genuine heavyweight sluggers.

I used to play with a Wilson Pro Staff 95" and I tried one of the new Techni-Fibre racquets... I felt like I'd been playing handicapped for years. Modern tech kills stuff from a decade ago. It felt much more stable through contact, had a bigger sweet spot, generated more spin, was easier on the wrist, lighter... #Technology
