My favorite player is Oladipo and deep down I wish he ended up on the Magic. But I think they should take Burke for positional need and because I think he'll be one of the better players at the top.
@shapentra Since Hennigan was so wary of Bynum because of knee concerns I'm curious how he feels about Noel. Guess we'll find out.
I'm super stoked for the draft this year even though it's a "down year" because Rob has made so many decent moves thus far.
I have no reason not to trust Hennigan and the Magic FO so far. That doesn't mean I will agree blindly with every decision but I'm stoked about this draft. If Rob can pull Nicholson out of pick #19 then I'm excited to see what he pulls with a top 5 pick, even if this is supposed to be a weak draft.
@Magicalseth On a S&T you have no leverage. If he had another contract year then yes, we would've cashed in hard on Ryan. As it was, Rob didn't really have a choice there. It was bad timing. The only thing he could've done different is re-sign Ryan and whether he should've done that or not is debatable.
I really like the logo. It's classy. I'm super stoked for the throwback uniforms next year.
Dang, Vucci Mane! Don't go so hard on these cats. Leave some stats for the rest of the NBA. You greedy.
Baller play, but then he missed the free throw. Still, I'm not going to split hairs. Good job Tobias.
I remember the day we got him back. I knew it wouldn't pan out deep down but it was good to see him in a Magic uniform again. Sadly, Turk only had those few years of great basketball with the Magic before flaming out.
Sadly, you can only listen to 5 of the 7 Ice and Fire novels because the last two haven't been written yet. George R.R. Martin's sluggish writing pace makes me feel like I have a concussion sometimes, I can tell you that. Homer Simpson should definitely voice the audio book though.
I almost think this article could also be about what Magic fans could do waiting for the team to win a game. It's a versatile article in that regard. Thanks Spencer and welcome to MBN!
Just make sure they don't let any other GMs see youtube supercuts of him shooting bad jumpers and we'll be ok.
It's funny that all those guys at HP picked Marcus Smart enthusiastically for us because I don't know a single Magic fan or blog writer who wants him. I don't really watch college ball so I have no opinion on this.
You should've given a grade to Jacque for getting thrown out of the game. A+ for effort. My rookie coach is all grown up now. I'm so proud.
You're right in that it isn't so much about replicating the OKC model and it's more about giving us the chance to replicate their model. All about the ping pong balls.
I thought Dwight was great in this game. I don't think you can say it was Orlando vs. Dwight because I don't think any of those players with the exception of Jameer had a grudge. And Jameer is professional and mature enough to not let that grudge get out of hand. I think you'll see Magic fans move on rather quickly from this but I understand that they needed to vent in this game. Dwight too. He was uncomfortable but I think he also needed to come back and flex his muscles a little bit. That's really all the Magic fans and Dwight were doing is flexing their muscles in an insecure way. It comes from the fact that we were so strong together and we haven't defined what we are apart yet. Boy, that sounded schmaltzy.
I'm almost stunned that we scored 97 points in this game. It felt like 60.
This was honestly worth the whole game to me.
I'd say the Lakers in three years but in five? Obviously Orlando is a blank slate right now so anything can happen. Remember that the Lakers have had Kobe for 16 years so our recent memory of that team stems from that. He will be gone soon and who will the big free agent be that will pair with Dwight (assuming he resigns which I'd bet he will)? The Lakers are the Lakers and I wouldn't bet against them either but I'd say this current season has put a serious damper on whether they can compete without some sort of rebuild. In that way the Magic may just have an advantage with some high picks coming in 2013 and 2014 (presumably) and some decent young talent. I'm gonna be a homer and say in 5 years the Magic are in a better place than the Lakers.
I love these play analysis articles. Keep em coming! Also, I love the way Drew shoots. He shoots real pretty.
I always like to see Jameer play well against his hometown team.
