We stunk the place out again. They have no Bynum or Turner, and we get solidly beat at home.  Our main offensive play is ISO Joe, and our main defensive play is to wave as they go by.  Whenever we started running we'd catch up, but good ol' Avery just can't have that and would pull the players (Marshon and Childress especially).  If he isn't fired soon this is going to be (another) long season.

I completely agree with both posts by Mr. DB.  And the defense was, if anything, worse than the offense.  Two years of utterly incompetent coaching got a pass because somehow either being in New Jersey or the limited talent made it OK for him to coach terribly.  It wasn't true, of course, and now we're going to pay the price yet again.

Well, obviously this team is better for the next couple of years and maybe in perpetuity.  But what if Mark Cuban had been a little more attentive to Deron Williams?  The whole house of cards comes down.

The whole thing is quite confusing (intentionally, I would guess) on what the relationship will be between insurance prices and voucher size.  I think the money quote is this:  "Lower income seniors in the future will receive the most generous benefits to ensure that they are able to get care every bit as good as that provided in the current Medicare program."  Since other seniors will get lower voucher amounts, there must be some amount of payment on their part.   Of course, at the end of the day there will be no such support for lower-income seniors, and everyone will have to pay through the nose.  But at least they're making it plain that most people will pay anyway.

Well, you'll have to.  Looking backwards only finds Lopez destroying Bynum.

4.  Should Orlando be contracted out of the league?

I think Orlando's strategy was clear and executed perfectly:  "let's ruin our franchise and crap on the competitive balance of the league at the same time.  Because we are crap-peddling right-wing douchebags from a cheesy non-city."

I love conventional pundit wisdom:  Hump at $12 mil is worth it because the Nets are already good and could have gotten Ilyasova for less.  Crash at $10 mil is a ripoff because signing him helped to get Deron.  This is because Crash is only better than Hump at taking care of the ball, scoring, running the floor, defending, and leadership, while Hump is a slightly better rebounder.

It's foolishness like this that makes housing bubbles.  "Look, prices have never been higher!  We have to buy, buy, buy!!!"

Jesus, Dover, give it up already.  Without Crash we have no defense, no rebounding,  and no SF.  And he's a bargain at $10 mil.  What's the move after that--  bring in Trenton Hassell?

@bfrank Yes and yes.  We know we're thin at the 5, if Brook or DH get injured we have a problem, and so on.  But really it's such a landmark day that we should listen to Justin and exhale.

I really felt like this would never end.  Now we have a core of DWill, JJ, and Crash for the next 4 years, and undoubtedly Brook or Dwight on top of that.  We can all start rooting as if we have a team (and a good one!) instead of possibilities and cap space.

So, will this be Billy King being "desperate," "overpaying," or both?  I mean, it's so obvious that he has been getting played all along.  The average internet commenter could have taken the Nets of two years ago (Lopez, Hump, Outlaw, Morrow, Devin)  to something far better than DWill, Dwight, JJ, and Crash, after all.  Can I get a "FIRE BILLY"?  Ginocchio, you out there?
