Losing Grabovski and Komorav were the hardest to swallow in the off-season... Nonis, wtf are you doing?

As a Leaf fan for more than a decade, I feel like I'm a parent to a teenager who still shits the bed every night....

And no one stands up for D'amigo who got the crap kicked out of him twice by Bortuzzi.....Great job Leafs; toughest team in the league.. Oh wait, that was LAST year.

@hoolihan @JoeLeaf @mcloki Do we actually have confirmed numbers on what he was asking?
11 months ago on Leafs Notebook – November 4
@mcloki @JoeLeaf Lots of Russians in the NHL play for the national team. That one confuses me. Do we still have rights to him? Maybe we'll see him back next year?
I've said it plenty of times. We should have tied up Komarov to the radiator in the basement so he couldn't flee to Russia. This team is missing his grit and ability to frustrate the opposition. I have seen ZERO of that from David Clarkson so far.
@Komas Taberle THIS. I just died.....
11 months ago on Friday Fun with Numbers
@Dan39 @djamon If we get him for Bernier money or a bit more why would we downgrade to someone of less quality when clearly we need two good goaltenders? A GREAT player in every position is just that. I mean, isn't that what every team is looking for?
11 months, 1 week ago on Morning Mashup: Liles recalled
@dlb eh @TheCanucksnaphook Didn't we have Glencross at one point?
@Pent_House I'd say that too if we weren't paying Ranger 1m and Liles what 3.5?
@MaxwellHowe last game

Is it just me or did McClaren look like he was holding back in that fight last night? I think the Leafs enforcers are scared to fight hard from all the past concussions they've caused.
So a good Leaf team with good stats is unsustainable because it is being compared to previous Leaf seasons when the quality of the team wasn't close to what is now and was one of the worst teams in the league for almost a decade. I guess that goes for all teams that are at the top of the league right now. All their play is unsustainable because it's too good than the rest of the teams...
11 months, 1 week ago on Breaking News: Leafs performance level statistically unlikely to continue
@Wilbur @JoeLeaf Very true. I had forgotten how many grinders we've been missing from our line-up. We're looking too much like a "european style" team atm with little to no hits and PIM. Let's get those tough Canadian boys on the ice!
11 months, 1 week ago on Wednesday Mashup: Keeping up with the Komarovs
This team is starving for David Clarkson to infuse some grit into the lineup.
@TheCanucksnaphook I disagree. Look at our hits/PIM/fights this year so far compared to last. Komarov was a HUGE part of that.
@Dan39 @TheCanucksnaphook @JoeLeaf Reims will come back to town, believe it. Never seen a guy with more heart for the Leafs in a long time other than this guy!
11 months, 4 weeks ago on Leafs Notebook – October 7
Predictions? I'll say 3-2 Leafs. Berns has a stellar game and stops 34 shots.
@CanuckUKinTorontostill hate seeing people rip Bozak for not being a 1C meanwhile a respectable 12G 16A and feeding Kessel 20 goals all day long in a lock-out shortened season. Let's not forget his impeccable defensive play landing him regular PK minutes which allows him to score incredible short-handed goals like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNDlJPGam7M oh, that was a fluke? well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3N3HAu3WgFM and what about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWJ-GxuFGsk and the S/H against Detroit. Looks like a guy I'd want on my 1C, especially if it keeps Kessel scoring.
12 months ago on Morning Mashup: A Contender’s Core?
Watching both goalies play back-to-back made me notice something. Our Goalie's helmets SUCK. I'd like to see Reimer with the face of Optimus (baddass red eyes glaring on the front) and Bernier with a mean ass polar bear jaws wide open on the front. Players need to fear these goalies!
12 months ago on Morning Mashup: Titillating Tandem
This was a no-brainer.. Kid plays with speed and heart. Leafs still need cap relief for Franson though.

I AM SO STOKED TO SEE THE LEAFS PLAY THE SABRES @ THE NIAGARA ICE CENTER IN NOV!!!
Hope Mason Raymond gets signed. He is definitely one of the best players not in the NHL and will be a steal for at least the season. We are in dire need of a trade to clear cap space.
1 year ago on Preseason Post Game: Leafs 4 vs. Flyers 3
@maximus_asinus I disagree, if you look back at all the press from last season's success (Don Cherry comes to mind off the top of my head) much of it was attributed to the Leaf's enforcer's Orr, who had an amazing comeback and resurgence after Burke demoted him to the minors, McClaren's rough and tumble play, and guys like Fraser, Frattin and McArthur really stepped up to fill the role of skilled and tough opponnents for the opposition to play against.

@Yaknowwhat I guess Nonis thought he would have enough money to sign them both to FAIR MARKET VALUE. But the players drive the market WAAAAAAAY up over their real value.

Kulemin was relied on heavily to keep
the lead and wear down the top lines of the opposition. Last year was
the first time in 9 years I had seen the Leafs be able to run down elite
lines the way they did. I'll go far enough to say they were the best in
the league at that. Look at the stats: 1st in fights, Penalties (and
not ill-times penalties), and players like Komarov, MCclaren, Orr,
Kulemin, McClement, Fraser et al are the professionals we need for that
type of role playing hockey. Look at the impact it had on the team when
Steckel and Brown were moved (for practically nothing). Yes, they were
superfluous at the time, but I bet in Nonis knew we would lose Bozak in
the playoffs and about that 3 minute meltdown in game 7, he would have
kept one or both of them.
@thelongroad It's not my job to find cap space. It's my job to support the best Leaf roster I can, and everyone knows Kulemin was relied on heavily to keep the lead and wear down the top lines of the opposition. @B_LeafLeaf fans stress the importance of defensive minded players on this team
and then they are the first to through them in the trade pot because
they are blind to the fact that being "defensive minded" doesn't generate points...
