@layituplikeaman why would a team trade now when they could just wait for Jimmer to be a free agent and get a much better deal? Seems pretty logical to me that a team is not actively pursuing Jimmer at he moment since his contract was not picked up by the kings.

@layituplikeaman Its true that IT was efficient behind Vasquez but he was getting a lot more minutes as a backup pg (20+) whereas jimmer gets under 10. I'd like to see him get around 15 to 20 and see what he does. With that said I would also like more consistency from jimmer in those limited minutes. Some games he seems to go off and others he goes cold and turns it over.

@layituplikeaman @mmarcum that's wrong simple math.I could easily say that jimmers production would be higher with more minutes. This is more likely since jimmer is a volume shooter like IT and he plays better with more minutes and more shots. The longer jimmer was in a game the better his shooting percentage became and his TO's dropped. So thIs actually proves your theory wrong. To prove my point IT was actually playing dramatically worse when he had jimmer type minutes playing behind brooks last season. His shooting stats didn't improve until he got the starting role back and given more minutes. With that said I still believe IT is a better PG. I just don't like your math. Players become better with more minutes and not less minutes like your saying.
@layituplikeaman and like I said earlier.. Players get turnovers sporadically through the game and not 3 every four minutes. So jimmer wasn't on pace for anything. I could say the same thing for IT if he was to have two turnovers in 30 seconds. That would mean he'd be on pace for around 90 turnovers. See how dumb that sounds.
@layituplikeaman layitup lay off the hate man. You say that somehow if jimmer got more minutes he would continue to get 3 turnovers every four minutes and then you say his shooting percentage would dramatically drop if given more minutes. That's a desperate statement and empty theory based on your dislike for jimmer.
@thoallan @mmarcum @layituplikeaman I definitely agree with you thoallan. With the game as close as it was I understand why he was pulled. I'm referring to other times when he's been pulled for making mistakes mostly under smart.
@layituplikeaman hope your not serious. 14 turnovers?? There are times where IT has 3 straight in same amount of time but then doesn't turn it over the rest of the game. Do we ever hear about that? No. Its because IT is allowed to play through his mistakes while jimmer his whole career has never been given that same luxury.
@Jim Les for 3 Acctually Jimmer would be getting more minutes had he been picked by another team. Other teams actually know how to utilize the talent they have unlike the Kings. Plenty of teams would love to have someone with Jimmers shooting ability. Im sorry but you do not just bench your 50% 3 point shooter. Is Jimmer below average at defending? Sure. But how many star players are their in the league that are below average at defending? Plenty! Its called team defense which helps to cover up those areas. The only problem is that the Kings don't know what team defense is.
I can guarantee that if Klay Thompson had been drafted by the Kings hed be sitting where Jimmer is now. Smart would have benched him in the same manner and his career would be on the same road. The only thing the kings have a knack for is overlooking talent. Its where players go to become irrelevant. Jimmer cant get off this sinking ship soon enough. Once he does then well actually get to see him be utilized by a coach and team that sees the scoring threat he is unlike the Kings who have only seen him as a defensive liability.

@zeke22 @Kingznut Isaiah strictly plays PG whereas Jimmer has bounced around between SG and PG. So of course IT will average more assists. As for the field goal attempts there really isn't much difference between the two. Isaiah has been better at hitting his shots in the paint whereas Jimmer has been shining beyond the arc. Its really hard to compare the two due to IT playing a lot more minutes and Jimmer playing SG as well.

Jonathan and James...its hard for any player to prove what hes got in such limited amount of playing time. Jimmer is not Lebron James where he can easily show what he has in 5 minutes. IT would be having the same struggles showing what hes worth getting those same spotty minutes. You cant just throw in a player 5 minutes here, 7 minutes there, two straight DNP's, etc. etc. etc. and say that player has been getting plenty of opportunities and just hasn't taken it. You cant expect jimmermania type basketball with such lousy minutes. Give him 10-15 minutes consistently for the next 10 games then lets have this discussion.
As far as Jimmer not taking advantage of stealing Marcus Thornton minutes that is straight BS. Marcus has been beyond horrific with his shooting and Malone still keeps beating that dead horse and allowing him to play. Simply put Malone has decided to play Marcus no matter how dreadful he is and no matter how good Jimmer plays. He should have been given the nod over Marcus awhile ago. Thornton has been beyond awful and that poor decision is all on coach and has nothing to do with Jimmers lack of play. Coach just doesn't have faith in Jimmer, even when he shows promise after a good game.
So please stop misleading people into thinking that Jimmer has been getting a plethora of minutes while not taking advantage of an amazing opportunity. What he has been given so far has been hardly an opportunity. Im surprised hes played as well as he has with such poor minutes.

@silverdog hell figure out his role but on a different team. I think hes been more than willing to play the role that coaches give him but just not enough minutes with such a guard heavy team.
1 year, 1 month ago on Sacramento Kings decide not to pick up the fourth year option on Jimmer Fredette
@silverdog there is no way of knowing if hes an NBA player or not if he just rots on the bench. Malone needs to atleast see what hes capable of before trading him away. Last thing Kings fans want is to trade away a guy that ends up being a star in the league and further cements the Kings as the worse organization in all of sports. In his limited sporadic minutes last season under the worse coach in the league he did just fine. Obviously if you just dislike the kid then I have no desire to argue with that dumb logic.

@Smittking Did you really just say that Tyreke makes more deep 3's on a more consistent basis than Jimmer? LOL
