History says Aga is not a good clay court player and recent past says Maria is a good Clay court player. hoping that Maria is fresh for her quarters

Maria had 22 winners and 21 UFE. not a terrible stat

@tootsie you are comparing an all time greatest clay court player against Nole and Federer. and by the way Federer has won French open title and reached finals 4 other times? Nole has won several masters title on clay court beating Nadal in 3 of those finals and has reached FO finals and several semis.

Wow! this is a nice place to meet all the sexist people.

People here are complaining about Maria's lack of curves, do you seriously think she is doing her best not to have them? Or if Serena is going out of her way to have a buxom figure?

appreciate them for what they are naturally, some may love Maria and some Serena. but people here are being critical and derogatory about them

Like Serena said, "So I learned to be proud of my curves and embrace my large boobs. It's all about loving who you are and realizing that you're beautiful." they don't need anyone to tell them if they are pretty or not

@Klaas  Serena half a step slower is still a step faster than every womens tennis player. Rafa being half a step slower could cost him, especially Nole closing in on him on clay courts.

@sredom_odmaram @S D Janakiram  how does it make a difference to Nole or Rafa, in whose half Federer falls

Rafa will win French Open, despite how he fares in other tourneys, and the only player he can lose to would be Djokovic

Djokovic will reach yet again closer to hoisting the French Open trophy, but won't. And i'm pretty sure he'll bag at least one Masters title on clay

Stan, I would be surprised if he manages to reach a final in any of the masters or French Open, despite doing well on clay in the past.

Federer's clay court season would be a success if he reaches French Open semis and reaches at least one Masters finals.

Berdych, won't be doing much, just reaching quarters and semis

Ferrer will win any clay court tournament, where Rafa won't be present. He needs the clay court season to build some confidence for sure.

Murray, Raonic and Isner will pretty much go into hibernation for the clay court season only to wake up when the grass courts arrive. Murray kinda reminds me of Andy Roddick.

Gasquet, Tsonga are a huge question mark.

And all the other clay court specialist will have fun frolicking on the courts :)

Serena will be a favorite heading into RG, irrespective of her results at Roma and Madrid

Looking forward to Sharapova resurgence on clay courts

Vika isn't great on clay courts, I mean she loses to Maria on these courts plus her comeback from injuries won't help

Radwanska also doesn't play well here

Li Na should do good, and if opportunity presents(i.e if Serena loses early), she'll grab a title on clay courts this year.

Did Mr.Bodo just say that Halep is a big hitter?? anyways she's a threat to everyone on clay court, i'm very interested in seeing how she would perform as a defending champion

I'm surprised there was barely any mention of Sara Errani. Given her history, she should do well on clay courts.

Cibulkova should do well, she likes clay courts and she is in quite a form :)

Sloane, "wake me up when majors arrive"

Is it just me, or has everyone forgotten about Kvitova and Caro.

would be interested to see how youngsters do here. Most of them clearly lack patience, which is quite important on red clay.

Jelena, Ana, Stosur, Schiavone, Kerber, .. yawn..zzzz...zzzz

@smurty  they say, Belinda reminds them of Martina Hingis. i doubt Martina would have won any majors now, with all the big babes ruling the top. Just look at all the recent major winners, Serena, Li Na, Bartoli, Vika, Maria, Kvitova, Stosur.

Elena Svitolina won a title last year as an 18 year old teenager and has risen steadily in the rankings if not dramatically. she will be the highest ranked teen next week whereas Madison will fall in 40's.

Elena has a good aggressive game and a fighting spirit, all she needs is consistency.  She is definitely going places.

I dont understand the hype surrounding Stephens or Bouchard. Stephens is known for reaching AO semis after beating a hobbled Serena and Bouchard also reaching AO semis this year, beating a nut case Ivanovic in quarters. Both these women haven't even reached a WTA finals of any sort, both of them have a strong game, but never use it to full extent. Bouchard's game has more weakness than Stephens for sure. Bouchard will be a solid top 10 player and is a superior version of Caroline Wozniacki and a lower version of Vika. i don't see any visible strengths in her, like Ana's forehand, Serena's serve, backhand, movement or Henin's volleying skills. she is overall an average player.

Sloane is a mystery, no one can analyze her game or her performance. she is up and down so frequently and she seems to have a game but never utilizes them consistently. a real mystery.

Madison seems to be mentally fragile, but has a good, strong and inconsistent game. She double faulted today on a breakpoint to lose a 6-5 lead in 3rd set.

a very interesting year for the young ones this year, though i doubt that Serena will let anyone get near the top prize and if Maria and Vika are feeling better then they'll re-establish the Big 3, and take their chances when Serena isn't around, especially Maria on clay courts and Vika on hard courts

The only reason why Serena wins against Maria is that Maria appears pumped up every time. and not just any kind of pumped up, but in your face kind of pumped up. Not a way to face Serena, just ask Clijsters.

Ana, Kvitova, Stosur and Kuznetsova I feel do their best to lose a match.

Caro has finally resorted to her old ways and winning as well now, but she hasn't beaten anyone substantial at this tourney, lets wait and watch.

Serena will no doubt defend the title.

Kvitova-Maria will do their best to give their match away to each other.

Li Na will reach semis and so will Cibulkova(Aggie will definitely lose to her)
