Oh, come on.. Technology wasn't Macca's opponents downfall (nor is there any evidence he would have done better without it...perhaps he really was at his limit.) The issue, if you want to make one, is that he relied *too heavily* on it; perhaps you could say he was racing his power meter, rather than doing the race. That's not the fault of the technology - that's the fault of the competitor using it. I'm sure far more people have 'messed up' a race because they were uninformed, verses people who use technology to track their training.

Yes, in fact this is mentioned above:
"Enough to equalize prize money and give a bit more for National Champs. Mission accomplished. Until it came time to give the money to the event."
The issue here, CrossBoy, is that the same is not being done for the race on Sunday, nor will they accept money to INCREASE the purse on Saturday. Care to explain that - despite the CyclingBC website still requesting money for the event?
Or that there are a fraction of the number of races for women than men. I would love to hear the reasoning behind that.

Thanks so much for getting the word out!!
Great article, looking forward to more! Very interesting seeing the kind of wattage the pros are pushing out, Trebon is a monster!! I find CX a bit of an oddball for me tho, when it comes to power files - rarely do i finish a race anywhere near my FTP - and my RPE is high!! Guess i just gotta go harder. ;)
